It is our duty to preserve it for future generations to come, the same way previous generations did for us. “Earth Hour 2018, with its theme ‘Connect2Earth’ reminds individuals, societies and governments to act responsibly to save water and electricity through the simplest everyday practices. Our increasing human activities continues to put immense pressure on the planet, pushing it beyond its limits. If not addressed, this will lead to irreversible consequences, including climate change. We must move together to re-establish positive connections with our environment by implementing energy efficiency measures at home and at work.”

دبي، 22 مارس 2018 - "إن هذه الأرض ليست ملكاً لنا وحدنا، وإنما لأولادنا من بعدنا. ولذلك، من واجبنا الحفاظ عليها للأجيال المقبلة مثلما فعلت الأجيال السابقة لننعم نحن اليوم بالعيش على هذا الكوكب. وإن "ساعة الأرض 2018" بموضوعها "التواصل مع الأرض"، تعد بمثابة تذكير للأفراد والمجتمعات والحكومات للتصرف بمسؤولية لتوفير المياه والكهرباء من خلال ممارسات يومية بسيطة. وإن مواصلة أنشطتنا البشرية المتزايدة تسبب ضغط على كوكب الأرض، فإننا بحاجة ماسة إلى معالجة هذا الأمر وإيجاد الحلول المناسبة له، وإلا سيؤدي ذلك إلى عواقب وخيمة ليس أقلها التغيّر المناخي. كما يجب علينا التعاون من أجل تعزيز علاقتنا مع بيئتنا من خلال تنفيذ معايير كفاءة الطاقة في المنزل والعمل على السواء."
