UAE, October 31, 2017 - The Department of Economic Development (DED) – Ajman is gearing up for the 4th Emirates Economic Planning Forum to be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman and Member of the UAE Supreme Council of the Union. The national forum, which is set to take place under the theme ‘Overseeing the future in light of new economic changes’ from November 1 to 2, 2017 at the Emirates Hospitality Center (EHC) in Ajman, is a joint project of the Ministry of Economy and DED – Abu Dhabi.
This year’s Emirates Economic Planning Forum will not only showcase key economic changes and their implications but also the best ways to support and enhance the UAE’s economic growth and competitiveness. According to the Global Competitiveness Report for 2017, the UAE ranked first in the Arab world and 10th globally among the most competitive countries in the world thanks to its solid economic growth that is at par with world’s knowledge- and innovation-driven economies.
H.E. Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General, DED-Ajman, thanked the Ministry of Economy for supporting the forum’s fourth edition and DED- Abu Dhabi for initiating the event based on ‘Integration, planning, and partnership’ slogan.
Al Nuaimi said: “We are confident that the 4th Emirates Economic Planning Forum will produce the much-needed insights to boost the ongoing efforts promoting government integration and unifying relevant initiatives of the Ministry of Economy and local economic development departments. Through our coordination and continuous dialogues, we will achieve our goal to build a diversified, sustainable, and globally competitive economy. The forum will be an important platform for all stakeholders to explore new economic planning opportunities at the local and federal levels, while highlighting Ajman's economic rise based on innovation in line with Ajman Vision 2021 and UAE Vision 2021.”
For his part, H.E. Ahmed Mahmoud Al Hammadi, Assistant Director General of Corporate Support Affairs, said: “It is an honor to be organizing the forum’s latest edition in Ajman, which is an extension to the previous editions held in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm al-Quwain. The event reflects the aspirations of the Ministry of Economy and the UAE’s economic development departments to continue our path towards excellence in terms of economic planning; and promote partnership, sound economic integration, and planning with a view of leveraging the UAE’s competitive advantages to build a competitive, and knowledge- and innovation-driven economy as envisioned by our wise leaders.”

The forum is supported by Ajman Free Zone, Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of sponsors from the national companies, including Mohamed Hilal Group, Darmix Concrete Mixers Ajman, and Gas House Technology as platinum sponsors; and Al Salem Industries as gold sponsor. Highlighting the role of human capital in driving economic growth, Ajman DED will also host the company of Emirati inventor, Eida Al Muhairbi.
H.E. Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, added: “The 4th edition of the ‘UAE Economic Planning Forum’ will be held on the 1st & 2nd of November under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Ajman, and with the strategic support of the Ministry of Economy. The forum continues to gain importance each year as an effective platform that brings together the different federal and local government bodies concerned with promoting the levels of planning and growth strategies to new levels of excellence. It also strengthens the partnership with the private sector through exhibitions and panel discussions that would consolidate its role in driving the economic development in the UAE.”
Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi also noted that the 4th Economic Planning Forum, which will be hosted by the emirate of Ajman themed ‘Foreseeing the Future in Light of New Economic Changes’, will significantly contribute to promoting cooperation among the different stakeholders responsible for implementing the economic plans in various government departments and authorities. It will ensure alignment between the plans, programs, and policies of these stakeholders and raise awareness to the private sector and civil society.
He also explained that the forum reflects the shared vision of the various economic development departments, the Ministry of Economy, and the stakeholders in realizing the objectives of the National Agenda and the pillars of the UAE Vision 2021 by focusing on strategic non-oil sectors, including industries, the central theme of this edition.
The Chairman emphasized the vital role of the Sharjah Department of Economic Development, which is keen to participate in the annual event, to promote cooperation and integration with the Ministry of Economy and the respective economic departments for realizing the objectives of the event, while shedding light on the effective contribution of every stakeholder to achieving the UAE’s sustainable economic development.
Bin Hadda also said that the present edition is an opportunity to review the outcomes of the previous three editions that were organized by Emirate of Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm al-Quwain. This year’s forum is an extension to the previous editions which helps maintain communication among all the economic departments aimed at discussing the outcomes of the strategic economic plans about the industrial sector of each emirate, aimed at combining the objectives and efforts among all the stakeholders.
He added that the forum will help improve the UAE’s business environment by developing the legislative and regulatory framework; streamlining the procedures via an open and elaborate discussions among the participating economic leaders; continuously enhancing the nation’s economy, promoting corporate governance policy; in addition to building partnerships between the educational institutions and the business sector for training the national workforce to meet the labor market needs as one of the UAE’s economic goals.
H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Department of Economic Development, said, “The ‘UAE Economic Planning Forum' constitutes one of the most notable events that are organized at the highest level among government bodies because of its importance in economic planning and sustainable development at the national level and in meeting the objectives of the UAE Vision 2021 and the country’s general economic direction. This 4th edition reflects the unity among leaders and their tireless endeavors to make the concerted efforts for promoting the competitiveness and sustainability of the UAE.”

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Shayeb, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Development Department, said that the ‘UAE Economic Planning Forum’ plays an important part in coordinating the efforts of all the local and federal government bodies concerned with the economic planning, which would drive the economic development to accommodate the future challenges and developments in the fast-paced technological developments in what is called the '5th Industrial Revolution.'
He also said that there is a need for the country to continue shaping the economic plans to step up the level of the economic performance and mobilize all the resources required to efficiently and effectively meet the future requirements to be able to reap more growth and achieve more developmental accomplishments.

الامارات، 31 أكتوبر 2017 - تواصل "دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية في عجمان" استعدادتها لاستضافة الدورة الرابعة من "ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي - عجمان 2017" برعاية وحضور صاحب السمو الشيخ حميد بن راشد النعيمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم إمارة عجمان، وذلك تحت شعار "استشراف المستقبل في ضوء التحولات الاقتصادية الجديدة". وتتجه الأنظار حالياً نحو الملتقى الوطني باعتباره نتاج التعاون المثمر بين الدائرة واثنين من نخبة شركائها الاستراتيجيين، ممثلين بوزارة الاقتصاد و"دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية أبوظبي".
ويكتسب "ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي - عجمان 2017"، المقرر اقامته على مدى يومي 1 و2 نوفمبر 2017 في "قاعة الإمارات للضيافة"، أهمية استراتيجية كونه منصة تفاعلية لاستعراض التحولات الاقتصادية الجديدة والآثار الاقتصادية المترتبة عليها، فضلاً عن بحث أفضل السبل لدفع عجلة النمو الاقتصادي وتعزيز تنافسية دولة الإمارات، التي احتلت المركز الأول إقليمياً والعاشر عالمياً ضمن أكثر الدول تنافسية في العالم، وفق تقرير "الكتاب السنوي للتنافسية العالمية" لعام 2017، الصادر عن المعهد الدولي للتنمية الإدارية مدعومةً باقتصاد قوي ينافس الاقتصادات المتقدمة استناداً إلى دعائم قوامها المعرفة والابتكار.
وبدوره، ثمّن سعادة علي عيسى النعيمي، مدير عام "دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية في عجمان"، الدعم الاستراتيجي من وزارة الاقتصاد في تنظيم "ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي - عجمان 2017" الذي يحظى بالرعاية الكريمة من صاحب السمو الشيخ حميد بن راشد النعيمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم عجمان، مشيداً بالجهود السبّاقة التي تبذلها "دائرة التنمية الاقتصادية – أبوظبي" باعتبارها صاحبة المبادرة الرئيسة التي تستند إلى شعار جوهري يتمثل في "تخطيط.. شراكة.. تكامل".

وقال بن هده السويدي أن الملتقى في دورته الحالية والمقامة في إمارة عجمان تحت عنوان "استشراف المستقبل في ضوء التحولات الاقتصادية الجديدة"، يساهم بشكل واضح في تعزيز التنسيق المستمر بين مختلف الأطراف المسؤولة عن تطبيق الخطط الاقتصادية في الدوائر والمؤسسات الحكومية بالدولة وذلك لضمان التطابق بين الخطط وبرامج وسياسات تلك الأطراف والتعريف بها والترويج لها لدى القطاع الخاص والمجتمع المدني.
وأشار إلى أن الملتقى يجسد الرؤى المشــتركة لدوائر التنـــمية الاقتصادية ووزارة الاقتصاد والجهات ذات العلاقة في ترجمة أهداف ومرتكزات الخــطة الإستراتيجية لحكومة الدولة 2021 من خلال التركيز على القطاعات الاقتصادية الإستراتيجية غير النفطية ومن أهمها قطاع الصناعة محور موضوع هذه الدورة.
وحول دور اقتصادية الشارقة أكد سعادته حرص الدائرة على المشاركة في هذه الفعالية السنوية المهمة وتعزيز التعاون المشترك والتكامل مع وزارة الاقتصاد والدوائر الاقتصادية المحلية بما يحقق أهدافه ويعكس دور كل جهة في المساهمة الفاعلة في تحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية المستدامة للدولة في مختلف المجالات.
وأضاف بن هده إن دورة العام الحالي للملتقى تشكل خطوة مهمة في سبيل متابعة ما نتج عنه الملتقى في الثلاث السابقة والتي أقيمت في كل من إمارة الفجيرة ورأس الخــــيمة وأم القوين، حيث تعد الدورة الحالية امتدادا مهما للتواصل بين كل الدوائر الاقتصادية بالدولة لمناقشة وبحث كل المستجدات المتعلقة بالخطط الاقتصادية الإستراتيجية ذات العلاقة بالقطاع الصناعي لكل إمارة بهدف توحيد الأهداف والجهود المشتركة بين الجميع بالدولة.
ونوه بن هده أن الملتقى سيسعى إلى تحسين بيئة الأعمال في الإمارات من خلال العمل على تطوير الإطار التشريعي والتنظيمي وتبسيط الإجراءات عبر نقاش مفتوح ومستفيض بين القيادات الاقتصادية تحت مظلته والعمل على الترويج المستمر لاقتصاد الدولة والارتقاء بسياسة الإفصاح الاقتصادي، إضافة إلى دعم وتشجيع أنشطة البحث العلمي، وبناء شراكات بين المؤسسات التعليمية وقطاع الأعمال لتدريب القوى العاملة المواطنة لمقابلة احتياجات سوق العمل وفق الرؤى المستقبلية لاقتصاد الإمارات.
ومن جانبه، قال سعادة سامي القمزي، مدير عام اقتصادية دبي: "يشكل ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي أحد أهم الفعاليات التي تنظم على مستوى الجهات الحكومية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وذلك لعلاقته الوثيقة بعمليات التخطيط الاقتصادي والتنمية المستدامة على مستوى الدولة، وذلك في إطار رؤية دولة الإمارات الاستراتيجية 2021 وتوجهاتها الاقتصادية العامة. ويعكس انطلاق الحدث في دورته الرابعة مدى تلاحم القادة والمسؤولين وسعيهم نحو تضافر الجهود في سبيل تعزيز تنافسية واستدامة الأعمال في دولة الإمارات.
وأضاف القمزي: "نحن نؤمن بأهمية الملتقى وتواجد كبار المسؤولين وصناع القرار تحت سقف واحد للتنسيق على مستوى عالي، وتوحيد الرؤى حول الخطط الاقتصادية في مختلف إمارات الدولة. وبدورها ستعمل اقتصادية دبي من خلال المشاركة في الجلسات على استعراض مدى مساهمتها في توفير بيئة مثالية تنافسية لمزاولة الأعمال وممارسة مختلف الأنشطة الاقتصادية في إمارة دبي، ومناقشة التحولات الاقتصادية الجديدة والآثار المترتبة عليها، والمعاملات الحكومية في ظل تطور تكنولوجيا البلوك شين (Blockchain)، إلى جانب تجربة إمارة دبي في الترويج واستقطاب الاستثمارات الأجنبية".
وصرح د.عبد الرحمن الشايب النقبي المدير العام لدائرة التنمية الاقتصادية رأس الخيمة بأن ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي يعد حدثا بارزا له دور وازن في تنسيق جهود كافة الجهات الحكومية المحلية والاتحادية المعنية بشأن التخطيط الاقتصادي بما يساعد على دفع مسيرة التنمية الاقتصادية إلى الأمام بما يتلاءم مع طبيعة التحديات والتطورات المستقبلية التي ستواجهها هذه المسيرة خاصة في مجال التطورات التقنية والتكنولوجية المتسارعة فيما أصبح يعرف بالثورة الصناعية الخامسة.
وقال ان الحاجة تبدو ماسة لأن لاستشراف الخطط الاقتصادية وذلك للارتقاء بمستوى الأداء الاقتصادي، والعمل على حشد وتسخير كافة الإمكانيات لمواجهة متطلبات المستقبل بكل كفاءة واقتدار للاستمرار في تحقيق مزيد من الإنجازات التنموية التي استطاعت الدولة تحقيقها خلال الفترة الماضية.
وشدد النقبي على أهمية تنسيق وتكامل الخطط الاقتصادية في مختلف امارات الدولة، لتوحيد الجهود، والمضي قدما برؤى مشتركة الى مستقبل يحمل لنا في طياته تحديات عديدة، وفرصا واعدة كثيرة نأمل أن يتم تسخيرها لمصلحة أبناء الوطن ازدهارا وتقدما ورخاء.

ويجدر الذكر بأنّ "ملتقى الإمارات للتخطيط الاقتصادي - عجمان 2017" سيشهد مناقشات موسعة خلال 4 جلسات عمل تحت عنوان "التحولات الاقتصادية الجديدة والآثار المترتبة عليها"، "تعزيز النمو الاقتصادي والتنافسية"، "التخطيط التنموي في إمارة عجمان" و"خطط وبرامج جذب الاستثمار في الدولة". ويشارك في الملتقى الرابع كوكبة من كبار الشخصيات الحكومية وصنّاع القرار والمسؤولين من وزارة الاقتصاد، ودوائر التنمية الاقتصادية، بالإضافة إلى العديد من الجهات الحكومية الأخرى، وعلى رأسها مكتب مدينة دبي الذكية، الهيئة الاتحادية للتنافسية والإحصاء، واحة دبي للسليكون، مركز محمد بن راشد للابتكار الحكومي، مكتب أبو ظبي للاستثمار، هيئة الشارقة للاستثمار والتطوير (شروق)، بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من الشركاء المحليين من إمارة عجمان، يأتي على رأسهم المجلس التنفيذي، منطقة عجمان الحرة، غرفة تجارة وصناعة عجمان، دائرة الأراضي والتنظيم العقاري، دائرة البلدية والتخطيط .
