4,500 healthcare professionals from 63 countries have joined the program, where 55 of said healthcare professionals are Egyptian
Proper nutrition in the first 1000 days has been recognized globally to have a profound impact on the child’s ability to grow, learn and thrive and has a lasting impact on long term health. This is a rapidly evolving area where new scientific advances are occurring at a rapid pace.
In order to help keep healthcare professionals up-to-date on the evolving science, Nestlé has provided funding to develop a dedicated global program entitled “Post Graduate Program in Pediatric Nutrition (PGPN)”. The program has been developed by MedInscribe and BUSM, a leader in medical education and research, with MedInscribe providing logistical support.
The program offers a unique opportunity to strengthen healthcare professionals’ knowledge and practice in pediatric nutrition by familiarizing them with evidence-based guidelines and recommendations through a series of online learning modules, delivered in various formats including text, video and audio. The final stage of education was presented in the graduation ceremony organized by Nestlé Egypt during the past weeks with the attendance of one of the Professors in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).
Since the launch of the program in March 2016, close to 4500 healthcare professionals from 63 countries have joined the program. The majority of applications have been submitted from Africa, Asia and the Middle East where typically the burden of nutritional challenges in children is higher and access to education about nutrition is limited.

Dr. Carine Lenders, Director of Boston Medical Center’s Division of Pediatric Nutrition and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at BUSM, fulfills the role of PGPN’s course director. Dr. Lenders, and her multi-disciplinary team, provide all content oversight to ensure that the most up-to-date information and best practices are included.

احتفلت شركة نستله بتخريج أول دفعة للأطباء المصريين من برنامجها العالمى لتغذية الأطفال(PGPN) بالتعاون مع جامعة بوسطن الأمريكية و شركة ميدنسكرايب MEDINSCRIBE ، وذلك في إطار اهتمامها بالأرتقاء بطب الأطفال و الرعاية الصحية فى مصر.
أن التغذية السليمة في ال 1000 يوم الأولى من عمر الطفل لها تأثير قوي على قدرة الطفل على النمو والتعلم والازدهار ولها تأثير دائم على صحة الطفل على المدى الطويل. و يعتبر مجال تغذية الأطفال من المجالات سريعة التطور حيث تجرى فيه الأبحاث العلمية باستمرار.
لذلك و من أجل مساعدة المتخصصين في مجال الرعاية الصحية على مواكبة أحدث الدراسات العلمية, قدمت شركة نستله التمويل اللازم لتطوير برنامج عالمي متخصص بعنوان "برنامج الدراسات العليا في تغذية الأطفال ((PGPN. وقد تم تطوير هذا البرنامج من قبلMEDINSCRIBE، بالتعاون مع جامعة بوسطن الأمريكية ,الرائدة في مجال التعليم الطبي والبحوث، حيث تقوم MEDINSCRIBEبتوفير الدعم اللوجستى للبرنامج. ويوفر البرنامج فرصة فريدة لتقوية المعرفة لدى المتخصصين في الرعاية الصحية في مجال تغذية الأطفال من خلال تعريفهم بالمبادئ الارشادية القائمة على الأدلة والتوصيات العالمية. و كانت المرحلة الأخيرة من هذا البرنامج التعليمي هى حفل تخرج أقامته شركة نستله مصر بحضور أحد أكبر أساتذة طب الأطفال بجامعة بوسطن.
ومنذ إطلاق البرنامج في مارس 2016، أنضم للبرنامج ما يقرب من 4500 من أخصائيي الرعاية الصحية من 63 دولة. و جاءت أكبر مشاركة من أفريقيا وآسيا والشرق الأوسط حيث تكون عادة اعباء التحديات فى مجال صحة و تغذية الأطفال أعلى، كما أن إمكانية الاطلاع على الأبحاث الحديثة فى مجال التغذية محدودة.
و صرح هيكو شيبر، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة نستله العالمية للتغذية بسويسرا : " لقد أظهرت الأبحاث العلمية أن التغذية السليمة في أول 1000 يوم من عمر الطفل يمكن أن يكون لها تأثير عميق على صحته مدى الحياة. إن مشاركتنا فى هذا البرنامج هى تأكيد على التزامنا الدائم لدعم التعليم فى مجال التغذية وخطوة إلى الأمام في تحقيق رؤيتنا "معا لأجيال أكثر صحة".

تفخر كلية الطب بجامعة بوسطن الأمريكية بالمشاركة في هذه المبادرة التعليمية طويلة المدى والمساعدة في تحسين حالة الرعاية التغذوية لمرضى الأطفال على نطاق عالمي.
وبالنظر إلى التغير السريع في مجال التغذية والمتطلبات الخاصة للاطفال المرضى ، فهناك ضرورة ملحة لدى أخصائيي الرعاية الصحية لمواكبة جميع التطورات الحالية. و تقوم الدكتورة كارين ليندرز، مدير قسم طب الأطفال في مركز بوسطن لتغذية الأطفال والأستاذ المساعد لطب الأطفال بكلية الطب بجامعة بوسطن، بدور مدير برنامج ((PGPN. تقدم الدكتورة ليندرز وفريقها متعدد التخصصات الإشراف الكامل على المحتوى لضمان أحدث المعلومات وأفضل الممارسات.
