CAIRO, November 14, 2016: In celebration of Egypt’s 2-0 win against Ghana during the match yesterday, Careem has released a new promocode -- GOAL -- which offers passengers in both Cairo and Alexandria a free ride up to EGP 20.

Carem transported over 1000 football fans from Cairo to the Borg El Arab Stadium yesterday, after last week’s announcement where Careem declared that it is the official journey partner for the qualifying match between Egypt and Ghana. Careem offered a special deal to Cairo fans can travel to Alexandria in both comfort and safety for only EGP 300 each way. Special deals were also given to Alexandria residents, allowing them to journey to the match for only EGP 30.
“First and foremost, we organized this deal so as many people as possible can go and support the national team in person, cheer them on, and help them win,” explains Hadeer Shalaby, Careem’s General Manager. In time for the match yesterday, Careem arranged for thousands of cars to take passengers safely to the stadium and back with the new special prices, where “by using Careem, they have helped decrease possible traffic and parking congestion in and around the stadium area, making it a safer and more organized event for everyone,” she says.
