Leading transport consultancy and research firm to recognize UAE's smartest students and their proposals for sustainable traffic solutions at Gulf Traffic 2016

The Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), a leading transport consultancy and research firm, has revealed its latest initiative, the ‘TRL Student Award,’ which aims to tap into the creative skills of today’s younger generation in order to help solve practical, real life problems while also helping the country in its move towards more growth and development.
The initiative will award some of the country’s top student minds for their proposals of innovative and sustainable transport solutions in a special awards ceremony on the sidelines of Gulf Traffic 2016, which will be held from 13th to 15th November, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Serving as the knowledge partner of the event, TRL wants to encourage new blood into the transport domain and recognise fresh and creative thinking by future professionals.
According to TRL, sustainable transport solutions are crucially important for dynamic and expanding countries such as the UAE, in order to enable the transport of people and goods in the context of work, education and leisure in a way that is sustainable in both the social and environmental sense. With this in mind, the ‘TRL Student Award’ will generate unique ideas from students for transport solutions that promote socially and environmentally friendly modes of transport, aiding the governments drive toward a fully sustainable, smart city. In addition, the breadth of the subject ‘Sustainable Transport’ means that different academic disciplines can participate and provide new perspectives and fresh ideas.
“TRL is at the forefront of the future of transport and cutting edge of transport science,” said Dr Britta Lang, Country Director - UAE, TRL. “We take pride in our commitment towards technical expertise whilst also recognising the significance of promoting scientific development at every given opportunity. We decided to launch the ‘TRL Student Award’ to serve as a platform for showcasing innovation, opening up another avenue to demonstrate how ideas from today’s youth can bring the future of transport to life.”
All students must register and submit their entries by visiting http://www.gulftraffic.com/en/Awards/Awards2016/#award_trlstd. Entries should have a minimum of 800 words and maximum of 5,000 words. The deadline for submitting entries is on November 5, 2016.

It enables access to employment, business, education, health services, and social interaction. We are highly positive that this competition will spur some highly creative and innovative ideas that can address issues covering the vehicles we use, transport infrastructure, energy source, the logistics of the transport system or transport planning measures to promote sustainability and traffic congestion solutions,” concluded Lang.

الشركة الرائدة في مجال استشارات وبحوث النقل تكرّم أفضل المشاركين في مجال حلول النقل المستدام خلال "معرض المرور الخليجي 2016"
20 سبتمبر 2016 - كشفت " مختبر أبحاث النقل – تي أر آل "، إحدى الشركات الرائدة في مجال توفير استشارات وبحوث النقل، عن مبادراتها الجديدة "جائزة تي أر آل للطلبة" والتي تهدف إلى الإستفادة من المهارات والقدرات الإبداعية لجيل الشباب في دولة الإمارات بهدف إيجاد الحلول للمشاكل العملية والواقعية في قطاع النقل والإسهام كذلك دفع جهود التطوير والتنمية في الدولة.
وتعتبر هذه الجائزة، مبادرة متميزة تعمل على تكريم بعض من أفضل الطلبة على مستوى الدولة تقديراً لمساهماتهم في تطوير حلول مبتكرة ومستدامة في مجال النقل وذلك خلال حفل خاص سيقام على هامش "معرض المرور الخليجي 2016"، الذي يمتد من الفترة من 13 إلى 15 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني المقبل. وتسعى شركة "مختبر أبحاث النقل – تي أر آل"، شريك المعرفة لهذا الحدث، من خلال هذه الخطوة إلى التشجيع على ضخ دماء جديدة في مجال النقل وتكريم التفكير الإبداعي والبحث المهني لشباب المستقبل.
وترى الشركة، أن حلول النقل المستدامة تنطوي على أهمية بالغة بالنسبة للدول الصاعدة مثل دولة الإمارات لكي يتمكن هذا القطاع من توفير خدمات نقل الركاب والبضائع وخدمة قطاعي التعليم والترفيه بطريقة مستدامة إجتماعياً وبيئياً. وضمن هذا الإطار، ستساعد "جائزة تي أر آل للطلبة " المشاركين على إبتكار أفكار متميزة لحلول النقل، والتي من شأنها تشجيع النقل المستدام للمسافرين والبضائع على السواء، بما من شأنه أن يشكل إضافةً نوعية إلى الأهداف الإستراتجية لدولة الإمارات للوصول إلى مدن ذكية ومستدامة. كما يتيح إتساع مفهوم "النقل المستدام" إمكانية مشاركة مختلف التخصصات الأكاديمية وتقديم وجهات نظر وأفكار جديدة في هذا المجال.
وقالت الدكتورة بريتا لانغ، المدير الإقليمي لشركة "مختبر بحوث النقل" في دولة الإمارات: "نأتي في مقدمة الجهات المعنية بمستقبل النقل وعلوم النقل المتطورة، ونفخر بالتزامنا نحو تقديم الخبرات التقنية مع إدراكنا لأهمية الترويج للتطورات العملية والبحثية كلما وحيثما كان ذلك ممكناً. وتعد مبادرة "جائزة تي أر آل للطلبة" منصة تتيح عرض الابتكارات وتوضيح كيفية مساهمة الشباب في تطوير مستقبل النقل".
وينبغي على كافة الطلبة الراغبين في المشاركة في هذه المسابقة، التسجيل وتقديم مشاركاتهم من خلال الموقع الإلكتروني www.gulftraffic.com/Awards2016/#award_trlstd، حيث يجب أن لا تقل المشاركة عن 800 كلمة وألا تتجاوز 5,000 كلمة. والموعد النهائي لتقديم المشاركات هو 5 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني 2016.
