Providing the proven and unmatched Mercedes-Benz quality standards, both robust trucks are the perfect partner for transportation needs of all businesses.
Roland Schneider, President & CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA: “There is strong demand for medium-duty trucks across a wide sector of industries and segments in our region, so versatility for fleets is essential. The Accelo and Atego set new standards in terms of robustness and productivity, and with the capacity to accept a variety of body types, each model can easily be adapted to a wide range of applications and customer needs. In developing the Accelo and Atego ranges, Mercedes-Benz has deployed significant resources to ensure these trucks deliver maximum reliability. Ruggedness, driver comfort, payload, and easy body mounting are the features which set these trucks apart and make them the perfect tools for demanding fleets – in both private and public sectors.”
The Accelo 915 C
A compact, robust and versatile distribution truck with a strong drivetrain to tackle almost all transport challenges, the new Accelo 915 C is equipped with a Mercedes-Benz 150 hp four-cylinder engine and boasts a payload of more than five tonnes. With capacity easily fitting a driver and two passengers, the Accelo cab has a modern design and ensures the highest level of occupant safety, excellent visibility and an ergonomic interior, making the drive more comfortable while increasing driver productivity and alertness. Disc brakes in the front and rear enable fast, accurate response in everyday urban traffic.
The Atego 1418 and 1725
The new Mercedes-Benz Atego offers superior fuel efficiency thanks to its powerful and economical engines with output ranges of  130 kW (177 hp) and 180 kW (245 hp). The two-speed rear axle enables perfect matching of the powertrain to every driving situation and maximum flexibility at the operation – from high torque to high speed at the wheels.
The Atego 1418 offers a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 14 tonnes, a six-speed synchromesh gearbox with a two-speed rear axle, and is powered by a 177 hp four-cylinder engine. The larger of the two, the Atego 1725, sports a 245 hp six-cylinder engine and offers a GVW of 17.1 tonnes. Both variants have a high load capacity and Body-builder friendly set-up that forms the basis for numerous applications.
When it comes to the powertrain and its components, performance and efficiency are paramount. The model’s exceptional handling capabilities have been realized through new developments to the chassis, steering and suspension. Whether unladen or at the maximum permissible gross vehicle weight, the suspension offers the ultimate in driving dynamics, safety and comfort. The Atego's compact dimensions and high agility allows the truck to tackle narrow alleys and relatively inaccessible areas without any problem.
The technical features of the Atego ensure that costs per kilometer stay low during the vehicle’s entire service life, thanks to its four and six cylinder engines that provide optimal fuel economy and performance. The six-speed manual transmission ensures that engine output is transferred to the road surface with as little loss as possible. Gear shifting is also smooth and precise.
The Atego 1725 A 4x4
The Mercedes-Benz Atego is also perfectly suited for more demanding applications and off-road driving conditions, thanks to the all-wheel drive configuration available for the 1725 model.
The Atego 1725 A 4x4 features the proven and robust Mercedes-Benz powertrain with 245 hp, six-cylinder engine and resilient chassis and suspension system. The driven front axle is equipped with a differential lock as standard, which provides necessary additional propulsion and ensures safe and reliable operation when the going gets tough. Both axles are fitted with drum brakes for more protection of the brake system, as well as with the reinforced stabilizers which are capable of carrying heavier loads.
For customers demanding more traction and even better off-road capabilities, the Atego 1725 A 4x4 can also be equipped with single tyres 365/85 R20 on the rear axle.
Altogether, the Atego provides an optimized vehicle concept that makes it the first choice in both public and private sector medium-duty truck operations.
