AUC TO DISCUSS POLITICS OF THE NILE RIVER AT A TAHRIR DIALOGUE LECTURE



WHAT
A lecture, “Water Politics on the Nile: Where to From Here?" as part of the Tahrir Dialogue series organized by the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo (AUC).

The lecture will discuss the Recent developments relating to negotiations on the operation of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the March 2015 Declaration of Principles on it; as well as provide an assessment of Egypt's evolving Nile policy and recommendations for future action.


*The lecture will be in Arabic, simultaneous translation will be provided.

Ayman Abdel Wahab, expert on African Affairs and the Nile, Ahram Center for Strategic Studies; Abdel Fattah Metawie, senior professor, National Water Research Center and former chairman of the Nile Water Sector, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation; Rawia Tawfik, assistant professor, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. The lecture will be moderated by Jasmine Moussa, assistant professor, Department of Law, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, AUC.
