Dubai, UAE, 10 April 2016: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE 2016), held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. DEWA’s participation in DIGAE supports its strategy to develop performance and sustain excellence, and its commitment to enhancing sustainable excellence, spreading its best practices, and promoting Dubai as a role model for development. The exhibition whose theme is ‘Local Governments, Global Achievements’ will be held from 11-13 April 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 40 government organisations from 20 countries will take part in DIAGAE 2016.

This vision supports the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to combine government efforts to transform Dubai into a world-class city. The conference will be an international platform that provides opportunities to exchange ideas and best practices in government services. It also introduces the achievements made by Dubai Government departments to local and international visitors, enhances partnerships among government organisations, provide new opportunities to develop joint efforts, encourage excellent practices at individual and corporate levels, and promote corporate knowledge at the Dubai Government level,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Al Tayer noted that DEWA adopts the fundamental concepts of excellence in its operations by implementing local and international excellence criteria. These include Adding Value & Happiness to Customers, Leadership with Vision, Inspiration & Integrity, Sustainability of Excellent Results, Development of Competitive Capabilities, Building a Sustainable Future, Corporate Agility & Flexibility, and Maximising Benefit from Creativity & Innovation, and Success through Human Resource Capabilities and Competencies. At DIGAE 2016, DEWA will highlight its achievements in 2015, including the second project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which will be operational by April 2017. The Solar Park will produce 1,000 megawatts (MW) by 2020 and 5,000MW by 2030.
“Launching the second project of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, marked the beginning of a new era of an economy that is based on environmental sustainability and clean energy. This supports the vision of His Highness for Dubai to become the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world. This also supports the long-term Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative, launched by His Highness to build a green economy in the UAE, and the Dubai Plan 2021 for Dubai to be a smart and sustainable city whose environmental elements are clean, healthy, and sustainable. The Solar Park affirms Dubai’s leadership in solar energy and creating a new sector in the region. Our wise leadership realises the importance of securing energy supplies and finding alternative solutions to traditional energy, and the importance of developing renewable and alternative energy, because it has a direct impact on the sustainable development,” said Al Tayer.
DEWA will showcase the Hassyan clean-coal power plant, which will be the first of its kind in the region, and is fully-compliant with set international standards in this field. Visitors can also review DEWA’s three smart initiatives. These are Shams Dubai, to encourage building owners to install photovoltaic (PV) panels on their rooftops to produce solar energy and connect it to DEWA’s grid, Smart Applications and Metres, and the Green Charger to build the infrastructure and electric vehicle charging stations. These initiatives support the Smart Dubai initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world.
DEWA has inaugurated a 1.5 megawatt direct current (MWdc) photovoltaic generation project at its Jebel Ali Power Station, and successfully connected it to its grid. This supports the Shams Dubai initiative, which in turn supports the Smart Dubai initiative, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world. The initiative engages society in producing electricity from solar energy. It also diversifies the energy mix by increasing the share of renewable energy. The project is one of the largest single-rooftop arrays in the Middle East and North Africa. It protects the environment by reducing carbon emissions while encouraging the development of a green economy to achieve sustainable development.
DEWA completed the first primary test phase of the electric vehicle Green Charger initiative, providing 100 charging stations across Dubai. This was to measure customer satisfaction about the service and how to develop it further. DEWA cooperates with major developers and stakeholders including Emmar, Dubai Holding Group, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, and Meraas to identify the most appropriate locations to build the Green Chargers across Dubai. Locations include Dubai Airports, Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), shopping malls, petrol stations, hotels, and parking areas.
هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي تشارك في الدورة الرابعة من معرض دبي الدولي للإنجازات الحكومية
دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 10 أبريل 2016: تماشياً مع استراتيجيتها لتطوير الأداء واستدامة التميز، والتزامها بترسيخ أسس التميز المستدام ونشر ممارساته، والترويج لتجربة دبي النموذجية في التنمية، تشارك هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي في أضخم دورة من "معرض دبي الدولي للإنجازات الحكومية" الذي يعقد تحت رعاية كريمة من صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي رعاه الله، وتحت شعار "حكومات محلية.. إنجازات عالمية". ويقام المعرض في الفترة ما بين 11 و13 أبريل، في مركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض، بمشاركة 40 جهة حكومية تابعين لـ20 دولة.
وقال سعادة/ سعيد محمد الطاير، العضو المنتدب الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي: "يسعدنا المشاركة في الدورة الرابعة من "معرض دبي الدولي للإنجازات الحكومية" الذي يساهم في تحقيق رؤية برنامج دبي للأداء الحكومي المتميز، المستمدة من توجيهات سيدي صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، وسمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، ولي عهد دبي رئيس المجلس التنفيذي، الرامية إلى تضافر الجهود الحكومية سوياً للوصول بإمارة دبي إلى العالمية. ويعد المعرض منصة عالمية تقدم للحكومات فرص لتبادل وجهات النظر وأفضل الممارسات في مجال تقديم الخدمات في القطاع الحكومي، وتسليط الضوء على الجهود التي تبذلها حكومة دبي لتأمين حياة أكثر راحةً وسعادة لمجتمع الإمارة، وتعريف المجتمع المحلي والدولي بإنجازات دوائر حكومة دبي، وتعزيز الشراكة بين الجهات الحكومية، وتوفير فرص جديدة لتطوير الأداء المشترك، وتحفيز وتشجيع الممارسات المتميزة على المستوى المؤسسي والفردي، إضافة إلى تعزيز إدارة المعرفة المؤسسية على مستوى حكومة دبي".

وأكد الطاير سعادة أن الهيئة تتبنى المفاهيم الأساسية للتميز في عملياتها من خلال مفاهيم ومعايير التميز المحلية والعالمية لتقديم خدمات نوعية وذات قيمة مضافة للمتعاملين واسعادهم وبناء مستقبل مستدام وتطوير القدرات المؤسسية والمرونة والرشاقة المؤسسية وتعظيم الاستفادة من الابتكار والابداع والنجاح من خلال قدرات الموارد البشرية واستدامة النتائج المتميزة والقيادة برؤية وإلهام ونزاهة. وتستعرض الهيئة خلال مشاركتها في المعرض أبرز إنجازاتها المتميزة في العام 2015 وفي مقدمها المرحلة الثانية من مجمع محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للطاقة الشمسية والذي سيدخل حيز التشغيل في إبريل 2017 لتصل قدرة المجمع إلى 1000 ميجاوات بحلول 2020 و5000 ميجاوات بحلول 2030."
وأضاف الطاير: "شكّل تدشين سيدي صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، رعاه الله، للمشروع افتتاح مرحلة جديدة من الاقتصاد القائم على الاستدامة البيئية والطاقة النظيفة، وصولاً إلى تحقيق رؤية سموه بأن تكون دبي أقل مـدينة في البصمة الكربونية عالمياً، وانسجاماً مع المبادرة الوطنية طويلة المدى التي أطلقها سموه لبناء اقتصاد أخضر في دولة الإمارات، تحت شعار «اقتصاد أخضر لتنمية مستدامة»، 2021، وخطة دبي 2021 التي تهدف إلى أن تكون دبي مدينة ذكية ومستدامة ذات عناصر بيئية نظيفة، صحية ومستدامة، وتأكيداَ لريادة دبي في مجال الطاقة الشمسية وخلق قطاع جديد في المنطقة، إدراكاً من قيادتنا الرشيدة بضرورة تأمين امدادات الطاقة، وإيجاد حلول بديلة عن الطاقة التقليدية وأهمية تطوير قطاع الطاقة المتجددة والبديلة، بما لها تأثير مباشر في التنمية المستدامة."
كما تستعرض الهيئة مجمع حصيان لإنتاج الطاقة بتقنية الفحم النظيف الذي يعتبر أول مشروع من نوعه في المنطقة، ويعتمد على أفضل التقنيات العالمية وأعلى المعايير المعتمدة في هذا المجال. علاوة على مبادرات الهيئة الذكية الثلاث "شمس دبي" لربط الطاقة الشمسية في المنازل والمباني، و "التطبيقات والعدادات الذكية" و "الشاحن الأخضر" لإنشاء بنية تحتية ومحطات شحن السيارات الكهربائية، والتي تسهم الهيئة من خلالها بشكل فعال في دعم مبادرة "دبي الذكية" التي أطلقها صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، رعاه الله، لجعل دبي أذكى مدينة في العالم.
وقد دشّنت هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي مشروع إنتاج الطاقة الكهربائية بقدرة 1.5 ميجاوات من الخلايا الكهروضوئية في مجمع محطات جبل علي لإنتاج الطاقة، وربطه بشبكة الهيئة، وذلك في إطار تطبيق مبادرة "شمس دبي" لتحويل دبي إلى المدينة الأذكى في العالم، وتشجيع أفراد المجتمع ومؤسساته على إنتاج الطاقة الكهربائية من الطاقة الشمسية، والمساهمة في تنويع مصادر الطاقة عن طريق زيادة حصة الطاقة المتجددة كأحد مصادر تنوع الطاقة الكهربائية، حيث يعد أحد أكبر المشاريع على سطح واحد في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا لانتاج الكهرباء من الطاقة الشمسية. ويهدف المشروع للمساهمة في حماية البيئة من خلال تقليص آثار الانبعاثات الكربونية، وتشجيع نمو الاقتصاد الأخضر لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
كما أنجزت الهيئة تركيب 100 محطة شحن للسيارات الكهربائية في مختلف أنحاء دبي ضمن مبادرة "الشاحن الأخضر"، وذلك كمرحلة أولى لاختبار هذه التقنية الجديدة ولقياس مدى رضا المتعاملين عن هذه الخدمة وكيفية تطويرها، وذلك بالتعاون مع العديد من المعنيين بما فيهم أربعة من أهم مطوري العقارات، كمجموعة "إعمار" ومجموعة " دبي القابضة"، وسلطة واحة دبي للسيليكون، ومراس، لتحديد الأماكن والمواقع الأكثر ملائمة ومثالية لإنشاء هذه المحطات في أرجاء الإمارة. وقد شملت المواقع أيضاً مطارات دبي وبلدية دبي هيئة الطرق والمواصلات -دبي ومراكز التسوق ومحطات الوقود والفنادق ومواقف السيارات.
