11 diplomats visit the region’s leading sustainable development in Dubai
Dubai, UAE, March 26th, 2016: ‘The Sustainable City,’ the region’s first fully integrated and operational sustainable community in Dubai, recently welcomed international diplomats to witness its final stage progress of Phase One, its unique facilities and components – many of which are considered a world first – and view its achievements and the innovative aspect of the city.
The development comprises a five-cluster residential complex, with each cluster featuring a central wind tower, solar-shaded parking lots, pedestrianised streets, five playgrounds, Meanwhile, among the development’s other advantages and attractions will be the first-ever eco resort in the region, banks, clinics, a communal area, and a mosque.. There will also be a ‘Green School’ from kindergarten to grade six, as well as a Diamond Innovation Center – a major education base and knowledge resource – where advanced research into environmental living will take place.
Phase One of the project involved the construction of biodome greenhouses in the central spine of this eco-friendly concept and a community mall, as well as an equestrian centre and cycling and jogging tracks.
Commenting on the occasion, Engineer Faris Saeed, CEO and founder of Diamond Developers, commented: “We’re thrilled to have showcased our latest innovations, which are also aligned with Dubai’s Green Economy vision, to our distinguished guests. Dubai is a prime location for sustainable living owing to a multitude of economic, environmental and social initiatives. More than 50 families have moved in already and we are expecting even more to do so by Q3 of this calendar year. We very much look forward to welcoming more families and visitors in due course.”
Wassim Adlouni, Co-Founder of Diamond Developers, said: “The tour was mainly to explore the different components of the Sustainable City. Our tenants will enjoy the benefits of our internal urban farm, where they will be receiving fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables from the 11 biodome greenhouses across the central farm. We also demonstrated the seven key environmental elements of the project, including 100 per cent wastewater recycling for non-productive and productive re-usage, waste-sorting at source and recycling programmes and solar powered transportation systems for internal and external use. We’re committed to reducing our utilised carbon footprint and minimizing the negative environmental impacts in line with the green objectives of the government of Dubai.”
The delegation comprised of 11 diplomats from eight major embassies and consulates based here in the UAE, including: Alastair Long (from the British Embassy), Cheong Ming Foong (from the Consulate of Singapore), HE Bogdan Kolarov and Dimitar Dimitrov (from the Consulate of Bulgaria), Ahmad Faiz Bin Ab. Nasir and Shahid Bin Abu Bakar (from the Consulate of Malaysia), Kamlesh Prakash (from the Fijian Embassy), Donrawee Waranon and Salynn Phudtapitug (from the Consulate of Thailand), Charitha Yattogoda (from the Consulate of Sri Lanka) and Giovanni E Palec (from the Consulate of the Philippines). Dr Tariq Nizami, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Clubs Network, was also among the attendees.
The delegates expressed their admiration of the concept and were impressed to see how all of the elements were integrated together in harmony.
قناصل ودبلوماسيون يزورون “المدينة المستدامة” الرائدة إقليمياً بدبي
- اطلعوا على أخر إنجازات المشروع-
[دبي - الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 26 مارس 2016] – استقبلت "المدينة المستدامة" التي تعد أول مجمّع مستدام متكامل على مستوى المنطقة بدبي، ١١ عضواً من الدبلوماسيين الدوليين مؤخرًا، للاطلاع على التقدم المحرز في العمليات النهائية من المرحلة الأولى، وما تشتمل عليه من مرافق ومكونات تعدّ الأولى من نوعها في العالم، إلى جانب التعرف إلى إنجازات المدينة وسماتها المبتكرة.
ويشتمل المشروع على مجمع سكني من خمسة أقسام، ويضم كل قسم برجًا مركزيًا للرياح، ومواقف للسيارات مغطاة بالألواح الشمسية، ,وخمسة ملاعب. كما يضم المشروع اول فندق صديق للبيئة، متحف علمي، مسجد ومرافق مختلفة تشمل بنوك ومحلات تجارية وعيادات طبية. وسوف تكون هناك أيضًا "مدرسة خضراء" تستقبل الطلاب من الروضة وحتى الصف السادس الابتدائي، فضلا عن مركز دايموند للابتكار الذي سيكون بمثابة القاعدة الرئيسية للتعليم ومصادر المعرفة، خاصة وأنه سيركز على إجراء البحوث المتقدمة في مجال المعيشة البيئية.
وتضمنت المرحلة الأولى من المشروع بناء القباب البيولوجية الموجودة على امتداد المنطقة الزراعية في المشروع، فضلاً عن مركز للفروسية ومسارات لركوب الدراجات الهوائية والجري.
وفي معرض تعليقه على هذه المناسبة، قال المهندس فارس سعيد، الرئيس التنفيذي ومؤسس "دايموند ديفلوبرز: "يسرنا عرض أحدث ابتكاراتنا التي تتماشى أيضًا مع رؤية الاقتصاد الأخضر في دبي أمام هذه المجموعة المهمة من الضيوف. لقد أصبحت دبي موقعًا متميزًا للعيش المستدام بفضل وجود عدد وافر من المبادرات الاقتصادية والبيئية والاجتماعية. لقد انتقلت أكثر من 50 عائلة بالفعل حتى الآن للعيش في المدينة، ونتوقع انتقال المزيد بحلول الربع الثالث من هذه السنة، كما أننا نتطلع للترحيب بالمزيد من العائلات والزوار في الفترات المحددة لإنجاز مراحل المشروع".
وقال وسيم العدلوني، المؤسس المشارك لشركة "دايموند ديفلوبرز": "كان هدف الجولة أساسًا استكشاف مختلف مكونات المدينة المستدامة، وسيحظى المستأجرون التمتع بفوائد كثيرة، ومنها الاستفادة من منتجات المزرعة الحضرية الداخلية، حيث سيحصلون على المنتجات الورقية الطازجة والفواكه والخضروات التي تنتجها 11 قبة بيولوجية مقامة في المزرعة المركزية. لقد تمكنا أيضًا من إبراز العناصر البيئية الرئيسية السبعة للمشروع، بما في ذلك تدوير مياه الصرف الصحي بنسبة 100 بالمئة لإعادة استخدامها في الأغراض الإنتاجية وغير الإنتاجية، وفرز النفايات في المصدر، وبرامج وإعادة التدوير وأنظمة النقل التي تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية للاستخدام الداخلي والخارجي. إننا ملتزمون بتخفيض بصمتنا الكربونية وتقليل الآثار البيئية السلبية بما يتماشى مع الأهداف الخضراء لحكومة دبي".
وتكون الوفد من 11 دبلوماسيا من ثماني سفارات وقنصليات رئيسية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، بما في ذلك: اليستر لونغ (من السفارة البريطانية)، وتشيونغ مينغ فونغ (من قنصلية سنغافورة)، وسعادة بوغدان كولاروف وديميتار ديميتروف (من قنصلية بلغاريا)، وأحمد فايز بن أب ناصر وشاهد بن أبو بكر (من قنصلية ماليزيا)، وكامليش براكاش (من سفارة فيجي)، ودونراوي وارانون وسالين بودتابيتوغ (من قنصلية تايلاند)، وتشاريتا يوتوغودا (من قنصلية سريلانكا) وجيوفاني باليك (من قنصلية الفلبين). وكان الدكتور طارق نظامي الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة "سي اي او كلابس نيتويرك" أحد الحضور.
وفي ختام الزيارة، أعرب أعضاء الوفد عن إعجابهم بمفهوم المدينة، وِأشادوا بالتناغم التام لعمل كافة العناصر مع بعضها بشكل متكامل لإنجاح فكرة المشروع.
