Winners Receive
Financial Support for their Mobile Apps;
Algeria, Qatar,
Kuwait, and Palestine among Teams to Progress to Global Competition in
Barcelona

Ooredoo
has congratulated the winners of the regional finals of the 3rd Arab
Mobile Challenge, at a special ceremony held in Algiers, Algeria, earlier this
month.
Launched in 2013, the Arab Mobile App Challenge
enables teams of up to six members under the age of 35 to develop mobile apps
designed to make a difference across their communities
As a founder and a key partner of the Arab
Mobile Challenge,
Ooredoo was proud to participate in the regional final, which saw 24 teams from
across the region present their app designs and business plans to a jury of
industry experts and professionals.
Two teams received the prize of financial
support for their apps, in order to bring them to market. These were the “VISIONGEEKS” developers from Sudan and “BOOKR”
from Kuwait.
Five
other winner teams advanced to compete at the Global Mobile Challenge, to be
held during GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. These teams
were the developers of “SYNOOS” from Algeria, “DOHA GUIDE” from Qatar, “MY U
TEAM” from Kuwait, “GRAVILOG” from Palestine and “RAYE7” from Egypt.

Organised
by IMTIAZ MIDDLE EAST, more than twenty teams representing different countries participated
in the regional final, including teams from Algeria, Qatar, Tunisia, Lebanon,
Palestine, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Oman and Sudan. Each team presented their
idea for an app that could have a positive impact on their communities,
including concepts to address specific issues
in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, employability, and entertainment.
Ooredoo supports a wide range of incubation
activities and entrepreneurial programmes across its footprint, including Ooredoo’s
tStart and iStart programmes in Algeria; Start-up Factory in Tunisia, Ooredoo
Indosat’s Ideabox in Indonesia and the “Digital and Beyond” incubator in the Qatar Business
Incubation Center.

تقدمت Ooredoo بالتهنئة
للفائزين في النهائيات الإقليمية للتحدي العربي
لتطبيقات الجوال وذلك في حفل خاص أقيم في الجزائر العاصمة في وقت سابق من هذا
الشهر. ويمكن التحدي العربي لتطبيقات الجوال، الذي أطلق عام 2013، الفرصة لفرق
مختلفة مؤلفة من أعضاء لا يزيد عددهم عن ستة ولا تزيد أعمار كل
منهم عن 35 عاماً لتطوير تطبيقات للجوال تسهم في صنع فارق في مجتمعاتهم.
وباعتبارها
مؤسساً وشريكاً رئيسياً للتحدي العربي لتطبيقات الجوال، تفخر Ooredoo
بمشاركتها في نهائي المنطقة، الذي عرض فيه 24 فريقاً من مختلف أنحاء
المنطقة تصاميم لتطبيقاتهم وخطط الأعمال الخاصة بهم أمام لجنة تحكيم مؤلفة من
خبراء ومتخصصون في هذا المجال.
وحصل فريقان من الفرق المشاركة على
جائزة الدعم المادي لتطبيقاتهما، وذلك للمساعدة في تهيئتها تمهيداً لطرحها في
الأسواق. والفريقان الفائزان هما الفريق الذي طور تطبيق "VISIONGEEKS" من السودان،
والفريق الذي طور تطبيق "BOOKR"
من الكويت.
كما حظيت خمس
فرق فائزة أخرى بفرصة للمنافسة في التحدي العالمي لتطبيقات الجوال، الذي سيقام
خلال المؤتمر العالمي للجوال الذي سيعقد في برشلونة خلال فبراير القادم. والفرق
الخمسة هي، الفريق الذي قام بتطوير تطبيق "SYNOOS" من الجزائر، وتطبيق "دليل الدوحة DOHA GUIDE" من قطر، وتطبيق "MY U TEAM" من الكويت، وتطبيق "GRAVILOG" من فلسطين، وتطبيق "RAYE7" من مصر.
ويقول سعادة
الشيخ سعود بن ناصر آل ثاني، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة Ooredoo:
"تعتبر Ooredooشريكاً على
المدى البعيد للتحدي العربي لتطبيقات الجوال، ولا زال
مستوى التطبيقات المشاركة ومدى التزام المطورين الشباب المتحمسين لبناء التطبيقات
يثير إعجابنا. وتبذل Ooredoo قصارى جهدها
لتشجيع تطوير المحتوى والتطبيقات لتناسب الاحتياجات
المحلية لثقتنا بالآثار التي يمكن لها أن تتركه على مختلف المجتمعات التي نتواجد
فيها."
وشارك في التحدي العربي لتطبيقات
الجوال، الذي نظمته "امتياز الشرق الأوسط"، أكثر من عشرون فريقاً تمثل
عدة دول تضم كل من الجزائر وقطر وتونس ولبنان وفلسطين والكويت والأردن ومصر وسلطنة
عمان والسودان. وقدم كل فريق أفكاره حول التطبيق الذي يمكن أن يكون له آثار
إيجابية على المجتمعات، متضمناً المبادئ اللازمة للتصدي لقضايا معينة في مجالات
التعليم والرعاية الصحية وريادة الأعمال وقابلية الحصول على فرص عمل والترفيه.
وتدعم Ooredoo
عدداً من الأنشطة التي يمكن تنميتها في حاضنات الأعمال، وبرامج ريادة الأعمال في
مختلف مناطق تواجدها، بما في ذلك برنامجي tStart وiStart
من Ooredoo الجزائر، وبرنامج Start-Up Factory في تونس،
وبرنامج Ideabox في إندونيسيا، وبرنامج
المنارة الرقمية لحضانة الأعمال في حاضنة قطر للأعمال.
