Provides Qatar with Crystal Clear Voice Calls and Faster Connections on the Ooredoo
Supernet

Ooredoo today announced another
major technology breakthrough on the Ooredoo Supernet with the implementation
of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) across large parts of Doha.
VoLTE will enable customers to
make crystal clear HD voice calls over the 4G data network and provide faster
call setup. In addition, customers
will be able to switch between ongoing voice calls and high-quality video calls
as they want. They will also be able to browse the Internet on the
4G network while still on a call – the first time they have been able to do
this.
The implementation is based on
software-defined data centre architecture and a range of cutting-edge technologies
including network function virtualization and software-defined networking. The
success of this implementation positions Ooredoo in a leadership position on
the global innovation path toward fully-converged Information Communication
Technology (ICT).
With today’s launch of the
pre-commercial phase, Ooredoo becomes the first operator in the GCC to
introduce VoLTE across a substantial part of its nationwide network. Like a
handful of other elite operators, Ooredoo has successfully trialled the service
at its headquarters and in its state-of-the-art technology test facilities, and
the company has decided to deploy the service on a mass scale now because the
strength and scale of the Ooredoo Supernet makes it practical to do so.
Ooredoo’s engineers are now working in hundreds of locations across Doha to optimise
the VoLTE service for the planned commercial launch.

Ooredoo launched HD Voice on its
mobile network in 2012, and has been constantly improving call quality all
across the country. VoLTE HD voice quality will further enhance the quality of
calls.
To ensure that enabled
smartphones are certified and ready for sale in Qatar, Ooredoo is working with
the world’s largest device manufacturers in the run-up to the commercial launch
of VoLTE. The company’s plan is to ensure Qatar is among the first nations in
the world to fully benefit from VoLTE.
Ooredoo continues to enhance and
upgrade the Ooredoo Supernet as part of its vision to make Qatar the
best-connected country. Its evolutionary approach to the Ooredoo Supernet,
which sees the company continue to introduce cutting-edge technology and expand

VoLTE will be commercially
launched for everyone in Qatar in 2016, with strong demand expected as Ooredoo

أعلنت Ooredoo اليوم
عن تطور تقني مهم آخر عبر شبكتها سوبرنت يتمثل في توفير خدمة الصوت عبر شبكة الجيل
الرابع LTE ( VoLTE) في مناطق
واسعة من الدوحة عاصمة قطر.
وستمكن
خدمة الصوت عبر شبكة LTE العملاء من
إجراء مكالمات صوتية عالية الوضوح عبر شبكة الجيل الرابع 4G للبيانات، وسيتمكن العملاء كذلك من الانتقال بين إجراء المكالمات
الصوتية ومشاهدة الفيديو عالي الجودة كما يحلو لهم. وسيتمكنون بالإضافة إلى ذلك من
تصفح الإنترنت عبر شبكة 4G أثناء إجراء
مكالماتهم الصوتية، وهي أول مرة يتمكنون فيها من القيام بذلك.
ويستند توفير هذه الخدمة إلى هيكلية مركز بيانات محددة باستخدام
البرمجيات، وإلى توفر مجموعة من التقنيات الحديثة مثل افتراضية وظائف الشبكة network
function virtualization والشبكات المحددة
باستخدام البرمجيات. وسيؤدي النجاح في تطبيق تلك التقنيات إلى تبوؤ Ooredoo مركز الريادة على طريق الابتكارات العالمي نحو تكامل تقنيات
الاتصالات والمعلومات.
ومع إطلاق هذه الخدمة اليوم التي تسبق مرحلة إطلاقها
بشكل تجاري كامل، تصبح Ooredoo أول مشغل في منطقة الخليج يوفر خدمات الصوت
عبر شبكة LTE على أجزاء كبيرة من شبكتها الوطنية. وعلى غرار ما يقوم به نخبة
مشغلي خدمات الاتصالات الآخرين، أجرت Ooredoo وبنجاح كبير تجارب على هذه الخدمة في مقرها
الرئيسي وفي مختبرات تتضمن أحدث التقنيات، وقررت الشركة أن توفر الخدمة على نطاق
واسع الآن وذلك نظراً لقوة ومدى شبكتها سوبرنت جعل من ذلك أمراً عملياً في هذا
الوقت. ويعمل مهندسو Ooredoo في الوقت
الحالي في المئات من المواقع في الدوحة لتعزيز خدمة VoLTE استعداداً لإطلاق الخدمة على نطاق تجاري.

وكانت Ooredoo قد أطلقت خدمة الصوت عالي الدقة (HD) على شبكتها للاتصالات الجوالة في 2012، وعملت منذ
ذلك الوقت على تحديث وتطوير جودة الصوت على شبكتها في مختلف مناطق قطر. وستسهم
جودة الصوت عبر خدمة الصوت عبر شبكة LTE في جعل جودة
المكالمات أفضل.
وتعمل Ooredoo بالتعاون مع مجموعة من أكبر صانعي الأجهزة
في العالم لإطلاق خدمات VoLTEعلى نطاق تجاري لضمان توافق واعتماد الهواتف الذكية
لتوفير هذه الخدمة وأن تكون جاهزة لبيعها في قطر. وتخطط الشركة لأن تكون قطر من
أوائل الدول التي تستفيد بشكل كامل من خدمات الصوت عبر شبكة LTE.
يذكر أن Ooredoo مستمرة في تعزيز وتحديث شبكتها سوبرنت، وذلك
