Dubai, UAE, 30 November 2015: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has today organised a number of National activities across all its branches in Dubai to mark Commemoration Day, in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the UAE. HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ordered Commemoration Day to be marked on 30 November each year to show appreciation to the sacrifices of the UAE’s martyrs and support to their families. Activities took place at all DEWA’s branches. At 8am, the flag was lowered and at 11:30 staff gathered together and observed a minute of silence, praying to Allah to bless the martyrs’ souls and to comfort their families and loved ones. Then, the flag was raised while the National Anthem was played.
“The directive of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to mark 30 November each year as Commemoration Day, serves to immortalise martyrs, and symbolise the nation’s gratitude for their sacrifices and giving. It serves to thank UAE martyrs, those good individuals who gave up their lives to keep the UAE flag flying. Individuals who undertake humanitarian, military and civilian duties, within the UAE and abroad, to express their deep loyalty to the UAE community, its leadership and its people. His Highness’s declaration affirms the unique, unparalleled interest our wise leadership dedicates to our country’s martyrs, who respond to the call of their country to defend our rights and religion, and to offer their souls to Allah, to support our brothers in different countries,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“On this occasion, we give our oath to Allah, and to our leadership, and the UAE people, that the memory of those martyrs will remain forever in our heads and hearts, and that they will always be a source of pride and dignity to their families who sacrificed their own children to raise the UAE flag, to enhance stability and peace in the region, and to ensure the safety and security of our people. We promise to be loyal to our martyrs, to commit ourselves to defending their rights, and to support their brothers to set standards of safety and stability,” added Al Tayer.
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, deems the martyrs as sons of every UAE citizen, and said they are appreciated by their leadership and people for their sacrifices to preserve the country's sovereignty and national and cultural gains. At DEWA, we are proud of all of our young female and male employees who respond to the call of their country. We stand side-by-side with the people of the UAE to honour their courage and commitment to perform their national duties, to support the rights of their brothers and sisters. We are also proud to organise national events, with the participation of all DEWA employees and senior management, to remember and celebrate the values of giving, loyalty and commitment, which run deep within the UAE Nationals who gave their lives in battle,” added Al Tayer.
“We show gratitude for the special role of the military forces that protect this country, and its people, and who defend our values, and our right to peace. We affirm our willingness to respond to the call of our country and our wise government. We are committed to continuing our efforts to raise a generation based on the values of commitment and national pride, to enhance values and concepts of nationality, for generations to come. May our martyrs rest in peace. May Allah send them to paradise, and keep the UAE and its people safe and secure,” concluded Al Tayer.
اعتزازاً وفخراً بشهداء الوطن البواسل وجيشه وقيادته
هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي تنظم عدداً من الفعاليات الوطنية في "يوم الشهيد" إحياءً لذكرى أبناء الإمارات الذين ضحوا بأرواحهم في خدمة الوطن
دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة: 30 نوفمبر 2015: تنفيذاً لأمر صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان، رئيس الدولة، حفظه الله، بأن يكون يوم 30 نوفمبر من كل عام يوماً للشهيد تعبر فيه دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة عن تقديرها لتضحيات شهدائها البواسل ووقوفها ودعمها لأسر وذوي الشهداء، نظمت هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي اليوم عدداً من الفعاليات الوطنية في جميع فروعها في مختلف أنحاء الإمارة إحياءً لذكرى أبناء الإمارات الذين ضحوا بأرواحهم في خدمة الوطن. بدأت الفعاليات، التي تزامنت في جميع الفروع، بتنكيس العلم الساعة 8 صباحاً. وفي الساعة 11:30 صباحاً تجمع موظفو الهيئة حيث وقف الجميع دقيقة دعاء صامت، متضرعين إلى الله تعالى أن يتغمد شهداءنا بواسع رحمته وأن يدخلهم فسيح جناته، وأن يلهم ذويهم الصبر والسلوان. وبعد ذلك تم رفع العلم مرفقاً بالسلام الوطني.
وفي كلمته بهذه المناسبة، قال سعادة/ الطاير: "جاء أمر صاحب السمو الشيخ خليفة بن زايد آل نهيان رئيس الدولة حفظه الله بأن يكون يوم 30 نوفمبر من كل عام يوماً للشهيد تخليداً ووفاءً وعرفاناً بتضحيات وعطاء وبذل شهداء الوطن وأبنائه البررة الذين وهبوا أرواحهم لتظل راية دولة الامارات العربية المتحدة خفاقة عالية وهم يؤدون مهامهم وواجباتهم الوطنية داخل الوطن وخارجه في الميادين المدنية والعسكرية والإنسانية كافة، تعبيراً عن تجذر قيمة الوفاء في المجتمع الإماراتي قيادة وشعباً، وتأكيداً على الاهتمام المنقطع النظير من قيادتنا الرشيدة لشهداء الوطن، الذين هبوا دفاعاً عن الحق والدين، وقدموا أرواحهم في سبيل الله لنصرة اخواننا في شتى البقاع".
وأضاف سعادته: "في هذه المناسبة نعاهد الله ثم قيادتنا وشعب الإمارات في يوم الشهيد بأن تبقى ذكرى هؤلاء الشهداء الأبطال خالدة في عقولنا وقلوبنا، وأن يظلوا مبعث فخر واعتزاز لنا ولذويهم الذين ضحوا بفلذات أكبادهم من أجل إعلاء راية الوطن الغالي، ورفع راية الاستقرار والسلام في ربوع دول المنطقة وأمن شعوبها. ونعد بأن نظل أوفياء للشهداء، ماضين في التزامنا بالدفاع عن الحق ومساندة الأشقاء، لإرساء دعائم الأمن والاستقرار".
وأضاف سعادته: "كما أكد سيدي صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، أن "شهداء الوطن هم أبناء كل مواطن من مواطني دولة الإمارات ويحظون بكل الإجلال والإكبار من قيادتهم وشعبهم الذين يقدرون عالياً تضحياتهم من أجل إعلاء راية الوطن والحفاظ على سيادته وحماية مكتسباته الوطنية والحضارية". ونفخر في هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي بجميع أبنائنا الموظفين الشباب والشابات المواطنين الذين لبوا نداء الوطن وقدموا جنباً إلى جنب مع أخوتهم من أبناء الشعب الإماراتي صورة حقيقية ومشرفة بشجاعتهم وبسالتهم وقيامهم بواجباتهم الوطنية في نصرة الحق والعدل، ونجدة الأشقاء. ونعتز ايضا في الهيئة بإقامة مراسم وفعاليات وطنية خاصة بمشاركة جميع العاملين في الهيئة وكبار الموظفين استذكاراً وافتخاراً بقيم التفاني والإخلاص والولاء والانتماء المتجذرة في نفوس أبناء دولة الامارات التي تحلوا بها وهم يجودون بأرواحهم في ساحات البطولة والعطاء وميادين الواجب".
واختتم سعادته بالقول" "عرفاناً بالدور المتميز الذي تقوم به القوات المسلحة، لحماية الوطن وأبنائه والمحافظة قيم الحق والسلام. فإننا نؤكد جميعاً أننا على استعداد دائم لتلبية نداء الوطن المقدَّس في أي وقت، وفاءً لما قدمه ويقدمه لنا وللأجيال القادمة من تنمية واستقرار وتقدُّم، وبما يجسد عمق انتمائنا إلى الوطن وولائنا لقيادته الرشيدة. كما نتعهد بمواصلة مساعينا لتنشئة الشباب على قيم التضحية والانتماء وحب الوطن، وتعزيز المعاني والقيم الوطنية في الأجيال القادمة. رحم الله شهداءنا الأبرار وأسكنهم فسيح جناته وجزاهم عنا خير الجزاء وحفظ الله دولة الإمارات وشعبها من كل مكروه".
