Cairo, Egypt. September 15th 2015. Huawei Senior Vice President Bai Limin met Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn to discuss how to boost ICT development and nurture local talent in Ethiopia.
The Prime Minister thanked Huawei and acknowledged the company’s efforts to drive communications development in Ethiopia, especially the successful delivery of the Telecom Expansion Project. He expressed his encouragement for Huawei to be involved in realizing the second five-year Growth and Transformation Plan, to further influence local IT industry and to boost its development. The Prime Minister also said that he hoped to leverage Huawei's global experience and cooperate further to launch more diverse initiatives that help nurture local ICT professionals and drive national ICT development.
Mr Bai emphasized that Ethiopia is one of Huawei's key markets and said that Huawei is committed to providing Ethiopia with faster communications technologies. Thus far, the company has rolled out an LTE network in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, and has trained more than 3000 local engineers. In the future, Huawei will align its efforts with Ethiopia's second five-year Growth and Transformation Plan to continuously provide advanced communications technologies and train ICT professionals. Through these initiatives, Huawei aims to contribute further to Ethiopia's socioeconomic progress.
Huawei began operating in Ethiopia in 1999. Currently, it has more than 200 permanent staff based in the country, more than 60% of whom are local hires. Huawei has invested heavily in building a pool of local ICT professionals in Ethiopia, including over 1,000 technical experts for an advanced infrastructure network project with Ethio Telecom. In the future, Huawei will continue its efforts to train local professionals and create more jobs in Ethiopia.

القاهرة، مصر. 15 سبتمبر 2015. إلتقى باي ليمين، النائب الأول لرئيس شركة هواوي، رئيس الوزراء الإثيوبي هيلامريم ديساليجن لمناقشة دفع تنمية تكنولوجيا المعلومات والأتصالات ورعاية المواهب المحلية في إثيوبيا.
وقد أعرب رئيس الوزراء عن شكره لهواوي، مقدرًا جهود الشركة في تشجيع تنمية الأتصالات في إثيوبيا، خصوصًا نجاح مشروع توسيع الأتصالات. كما شجع هواوي على المشاركة في تحقيق الخطة الخمسية الثانية للنمو والتحول، وذلك من أجل دفع صناعة تكنولوجيا المعلومات المحلية ودعم تنميتها. وأكد رئيس الوزراء أنه يأمل في تعزيز خبرة هواوي العالمية والتعاون معها من أجل إطلاق مبادرات متعددة تساعد على رعاية الإخصائيين المحليين في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات والأتصالات، وعلى دفع عجلة تنمية قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والأتصالات.
ومن ناحيته، أكد باي على أن إثيوبيا تعد إحدى الأسواق الرئيسية لهواوي، وقال إن هواوي ملتزمة بتزويد إثيوبيا بتكنولوجيا إتصالات أسرع. وحتى تاريخه، قامت الشركة بتعميم شبكة من الجيل الرابع في العاصمة الإثيوبية، أديس أبابا، وبتدريب أكثر من 3000 مهندس محلي. وفي المستقبل، ستعمل هواوي على توحيد جهودها مع خطة النمو والتحول الخمسية الثانية من أجل الأستمرار في توفير تكنولوجيا المعلومات والأتصالات وتدريب إخصائييها. وتهدف هواوي من خلال هذه المبادرات إلى الإسهام في التقدم اﻹجتماعي واﻹقتصادي لإثيوبيا.
وقد بدأت هواوي العمل في إثيوبيا عام 1999، ويعمل لديها حاليًا أكثر من 200 موظف داخل البلد، منهم أكثر من 60% من الإثيوبيين. وقد قامت هواوي بضخ إستثمارات كبيرة في تدريب إخصائيي تكنولوجيا الاتصالات والمعلومات في إثيوبيا، ويشمل ذلك أكثر من 1000 خبير فني من أجل مشروع متطور لشبكات البنية الأساسية مع إثيو تيليكوم. وفي المستقبل، سوف تستمر هواوي في جهودها لتدريب الإخصائيين المحليين وخلق المزيد من الوظائف في إثيوبيا.
