AUC TO HOST THE SECOND RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION RESEARCH CONFERENCE ON INCLUSIVE BUSINESSES

WHAT

The second  responsible management education research conference on inclusive businesses, hosted by The Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement, School of Business, AUC, and the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) regional chapter Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The two- day conference will discuss several issues including good practices and innovations in inclusive businesses towards socio-economic empowerment, inclusion and poverty alleviation; startups in the supply chains of regional and multinational companies; building competitive advantage and the social impact of inclusive businesses; the role of inclusive businesses in local economic development and the creation of trading and industrial clusters; promoting and advancing inclusive businesses in management education; the role of government, and policy in creating an enabling environment for inclusive businesses and the role of philanthropy and volunteerism in supporting the formation and expansion of inclusive businesses.
The aim of this year’s conference is to foster knowledge exchange and networking opportunities by connecting emerging as well as established regional PRME chapters, PRME working groups and other entities in the PRME community with key regional stakeholders and the wider audience of educators and representatives of universities, students, business, government, media and civil society organizations.

PRME is an initiative of the United Nations that emerged in 2007 at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in Geneva. The aim of this network is to provide a platform and networking space for academia, business community, media and civil society to advance responsible businesses through research and higher education, and encourage a next generation of socially responsible businessmen.
