A delegation of top management from ADIB Egypt will attend the inauguration ceremony, which emphasizes the bank’s support and commitment to this achievement as Egypt realize a long-awaited dream. ADIB Egypt’s support of the New Suez Canal inauguration comes as a part of its recognition of the key role the banking sector is playing in supporting mega projects that boost the Egyptian economy.

ADIB-Egypt is participating as a silver sponsor in the inauguration ceremony of the New Suez Canal project which underlines the strong relationship we have with the Suez Canal Authority (SCA). For nearly 20 years, ADIB Egypt has had strong ties with the SCA. Throughout this fruitful period, the bank has provided a full package of its outstanding banking services to the Authority and seven other affiliate entities. This comes as part of the bank's strategy to support mega projects in the local market. ADIB Egypt is proud to continue supporting the SCA and its subsidiaries with outstanding banking solutions in the future.
Creating a new canal, parallel to the existing one, was undertaken in an effort to maximize the benefits from the Canal and its by-passes, by doubling the longest possible parts of the waterway to facilitate traffic in two directions and minimize the waiting time for transiting ships. This will reduce the navigation time from one end of the Canal to the other, will increase capacity of the existing Canal in light of the expected growth in world trade and, will further reinforce the notion that the Suez Canal is the best available waterway in the world.
According to authorities, the New Suez Canal will also have a positive impact on the Egyptian national income as it will boost hard currency earnings, provide more job opportunities, create new urban communities, and supporting Egypt’s strategy to establish international logistics and industrial hub near the Suez Canal.

القاهرة في 2 أغسطس 2015 - يفخر مصرف أبو ظبي الإسلامي– مصر بالمشاركة في افتتاح مشروع قناة السويس الجديدة، من خلال وفد رفيع المستوى من الإدارة العليا للبنك تأكيداً على دعمه لهذا الإنجاز الضخم الذي طالما حلم المصريون بتحقيقه. يأتي ذلك انطلاقاً من إيمانه بأهمية الدور الذي يلعبه القطاع المصرفي في دعم المشاريع القومية العملاقة التي تعمل على تنمية الاقتصاد المصري.

يشارك مصرف أبوظبي الإسلامي– مصر في مراسم افتتاح مشروع قناة السويس الجديدة كراعي فضي ترسيخا لعلاقة البنك بهيئة قناة السويس التي تمتد لنحو عشرين عاماً قام البنك خلالها بتقديم خدماته المصرفية للهيئة ولسبع كيانات أخرى تابعة لها. يأتي ذلك كجزء من استراتيجية البنك الرامية لدعم المشاريع التنموية الضخمة في مصر كما يعتز البنك بإستمراره في تقديم خدماته المصرفية لهيئة قناة السويس والشركات التابعة لها في الفترة المقبلة.
إنّ مشروع قناة السويس الجديدة يهدف لتسيير السفن في الاتجاهين بدون توقف في مناطق انتظار داخل القناة، وبالتالي يقلل من زمن عبور السفن، ويزيد من قدرة القناة على استيعاب السفن في ظل النمو المتوقع لحجم التجارة العالمية في المستقبل، مع زيادة الثقة في قناه لسويس باعتبارها أفضل ممر ملاحي عالمي، وهو ما ينعكس على زيادة الدخل القومي والاحتياطي النقدي من العملات الصعبة، بما يعني زيادة موارد الدولة، وإتاحة أكبر عدد من فرص العمل للشباب المصري، وخلق مجتمعات عمرانية جديدة، خاصة مع اتجاه الدولة لإقامة مناطق صناعية وخدمات لوجستية في المنطقة المحيطة بالقناة.
