UAE, 14 July, 2015 – Just over a month after the opening of Expo 2015, here is a rundown of proceedings so far from the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion.
In the first period of Expo 2015, the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion had more than 570,000 visits. There were over 15,000 visits a day, with an average duration of approximately half an hour. More than 4,500 visitors have got to know the country during over 150 guided tours. There has been all-round satisfaction with the chosen theme for the pavilion, partly because it reflects the values of Expo 2015 and most importantly because it tells the story of an unusual, unknown country that sees water and its agricultural traditions as an asset to preserve and a driver of sustainable development.
“Heritage in Harvest: Harnessing the sea, sun and sand” is the theme. It spans four areas representing water, oases, the sea and traditions, so it perfectly encapsulates Oman.
Under Harnessing every drop of water Oman will introduce its strong tradition in the management of water resources. From khareef, the summer monsoon crossing the Indian Ocean, whose influence seasonal makes the lush desert region of Dhofar making possible the cultivation of Boswelia that gives rise incense and feeds the Aflaj, ancient irrigation system size d a dense network of canals and dams dating back over 2,000 years ago
inscribed as a World Heritage Site. The country is continuously working to increase its self-sufficiency in food production in a sustainable way and this is the central theme of the pavilion because there can be no life without water.
The second section Our rich farming heritage will cover agriculture, with its crops for the local population and export. From honey to hazelnut, crops rose in the mountainous region of Jebel Akhdar the history of food production in Oman is unique. It is the story of a country that combines technological innovation and sustainable development made unique by the harmony of a Mediterranean climate and tropical. Date palms, heart of the Omani agricultural tradition, will be the center of this section with the project "a million palm trees" which should be completed in 2025.
In the third section Treasures of our seas, visitors can learn about the rich marine environments and the fishing industry, which is still based on traditional techniques. The country, which has declared an intention to double the proceeds of fishing within the next 30 years, is already involved in the activation of new regulations for the protection of marine areas and encouraging fishing for native species.
The fourth section Welcome to our home will showcase the authentic and friendly Omani hospitality with the ritual of coffee and dates and sharing tasty and spicy inside the sablat, the room of the typical Omani house where the family welcomes guests at parties. The area also features a typical local cuisine, with all the ingredients and utensils needed to prepare traditional dishes.
At the end of their visits, guests can take it easy on one of the most stunning terraces at Expo 2015 as they savour some traditional Omani dishes and coffee. Every day, more than 800 people gladly succumb to the temptation of the delights on offer in the restaurant and the juice bar. The flavours and aromas that come from afar bear witness to the indissoluble bond between Oman and its traditions.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Sultanate of Oman
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry was established pursuant to the Sultani Decree No. 40/74 comprising three directorates general: D.G. of Commerce, D.G. of Industry and the head office of the Ministry, besides the office Commerce and Industry in Dhofar Governorate.

الجناح العُماني يحقّق رواجاً لافتاً في "إكسبو ميلانو 2015" خلال الشهر الأوّل
14 يوليو 2015م - شهد جناح سلطنة عُمان المشارك في المعرض الدولي "إكسبو ميلانو 2015" حضوراً فعّالاً خلال الشهر الأوّل من إنطلاق فعاليات الحدث، حيث سجّل الجناح ما يزيد على 570,000 زيارة خلال هذه الفترة بواقع 15,000 زيارة يومياً مع وصول متوسّط مدّة الزيارة الواحدة إلى حوالي نصف ساعة. كما تم تنظيم أكثر من 150 جولة إرشادية في الجناح، شارك فيها أكثر من 4,500 زائر من مختلف أنحاء العالم للتعرّف عن كثب على السلطنة، وسط إشادة واسعة بالتصميم والموضوع الرئيسي للجناح تحت شعار "التراث في الحصاد"، بما يتماشى مع الموضوع الأساسي والقيم العالية للمعرض وفي الوقت نفسه يسلّط الضوء على أهم المقوّمات التي تنفرد بها سلطنة عُمان وإهتمامها الشديد بالحفاظ على المياه والتمسّك بالتقاليد الزراعية بإعتبارها رافداً أساسياً لدفع عجلة مسيرة التنمية المستدامة.
ويسلّط الجناح الضوء على أربعة محاور أساسية تتمثّل في المياه والواحات والبحار والعادات والتقاليد. وفي القسم الأوّل تحت عنوان "تسخير كل قطرة ماء"، تقوم سلطنة عُمان بإستعراض مسيرتها المتأصّلة في إدارة الموارد المائية وخاصةً خلال مواسم الخريف التي تتّسم بالرياح الموسمية الصيفية القادمة من المحيط الهندي والتي تساعد في تحويل السهول الصحرواية في منطقة ظفار إلى بيئات خصبة لنمو شجر اللبّان وتغذّي الأفلاج المنتشرة في المنطقة. ولا تزال سلطنة عُمان تستند إلى نظام ري تقليدي قائم على شبكة من القنوات والسدود التي يعود تاريخ انشائها إلى أكثر من ألفي عامٍ والمدرجة في قائمة اليونسكو للتراث الثقافي العالمي. ويتمحور هذا القسم بالمقام الأوّل حول الجهود الدؤوبة التي تقوم بها السلطنة لتحقيق اكتفائها الذاتي من إنتاج الغذاء بشكل مستدام وذلك من خلال الحفاظ على المياه بإعتبارها العنصر الأساسي لديمومة الحياة.
ويشكّل "تراثنا الزراعي الغنيّ" محور موضوع القسم الثاني في الجناح والذي يلقي الضوء على قطاع الزراعة والمحاصيل المحلية والمستوردة في سلطنة عُمان، وخاصةً الإنتاج الزراعي المحلي الذي يتركّز في منطقة "الجبل الأخضر" ويضم أنواعاً متعددةً من المنتوجات المحلية الأصيلة كالعسل والبندق. وتتميّز سلطنة عُمان بأنها تستند إلى أحدث الإبتكارات التكنولوجية المتطوّرة وحلول التنمية المستدامة، بالإضافة إلى تمتّعها بمناخ طبيعي يجمع بين الإستوائي والمتوسطي ليوفّر بيئة ممتازة للزراعة. وبالنظر إلى أهمية أشجار النخيل التي تعد رمزاً من الرموز العُمانية الأصيلة، سيلقي هذا القسم الضوء بشكل خاص على مشروع "المليون شجر نخيل" المقرّر إستكماله في العام 2025.
أما القسم الثالث في الجناح تحت عنوان "ثروات بحارنا"، يمكن للزوّار التعرّف عن كثب على البيئات البحرية الغنيّة في سلطنة عُمان، سيما مهنة صيد الأسماك التي لا تزال تعتمد الأساليب التقليدية القديمة. وفي سياق الخطّة الطموحة لمضاعفة العائدات من صناعة صيد الأسماك خلال السنوات الثلاثين القادمة، تعمل الحكومة العُمانية حالياً على إرساء أطر تنظيمية جديدة لحماية المناطق البحرية والتشجيع على صيد الأصناف المحلية من الأسماك.
ويستعرض القسم الرابع والأخير تحت عنوان "أهلاً بكم في وطننا"، ملامح فن الضيافة العُمانية الأصيلة والعادات التقليدية كتقديم القهوة والتمر ومشاركة الأطعمة اللذيذة والحارة داخل السبلة العُمانية، وهي عبارة عن غرفة تقليدية في المنزل العُماني النموذجي مخصّصة للترحيب بالضيوف وإقامة الحفلات. كما يحتوي القسم على مطبخ محلي فيه كل المكوّنات والأدوات اللازمة لإعداد الأطباق التقليدية.
ويمكن لزوّار الجناح العُماني أيضاً الإسترخاء على التراس الذي يعد من الوجهات الأكثر تميّزاً في المعرض والإستمتاع بتناول تشكيلةٍ واسعةٍ من القهوة العربية والأطباق العُمانية التقليدية. ويستقبل المطعم والمقهى التابعين للجناح ما يزيد على 800 شخصٍ يومياً لتذوّق أشهى الحلويات والنكهات الأصيلة وسط أجواء احتفائية تعكس عراقة التراث والتاريخ العُماني.
