In honor of International Nurses Day 2015, the Medical Services Department of the Directorate General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police organized celebrations to honor the importance of the nursing profession, and to recognize their essential role in coordinating amongst the physicians, patients, and departments of the hospitals. The celebration, highlighting the nursing profession as the cornerstone of efficiency for hospitals and health centers, honored the nurses for ultimately furthering the policy and strategy of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) through their provision of services to staff members and their families.
Colonel Jassim Mohamed Al Tunaiji, Director of the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police, explained that the day medical program additionally included spreading awareness about the oral and dental health for the examiners in the medical service clinics. He also described the films that were shown, which explained the best ways to use toothbrushes and how to choose the most appropriate type. Participants additionally received medical tests that included measuring height and weight, and determining blood types.
A nutritionist from the Medical Services Department provided participants with information regarding integrated nutrition and accredited medical methods in the field. She additionally reviewed the ways to fight against infections and how to wash hands according the health requirements.
It is worth noting that the Medical Services Department benefits from medical days and events such as International Nurses Day, which was launched on 1965 to deliver a humanitarian message and to improve the participation and development of health care systems.
The world annually celebrates the International Nurses Day on 12 May in memory of Florence Nightingale, a pioneer nurse who established the features of modern day nursing.
"طبية شرطة أبوظبي" تحتفل باليوم العالمي للتمريض
احتفلت إدارة الخدمات الطبية، بالإدارة العامة للمالية والخدمات بشرطة أبوظبي، بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للتمريض 2015، إدراكاً بالأهمية ودور مهنة التمريض كحلقة وصل في ما بين الأطباء والإدارة والمرضى أثناء العمل في المستشفيات؛ وتطابقاً مع سياسة واستراتيجية قيادة شرطة أبوظبي في الارتقاء بالخدمات التي تقدمها كوادرها الطبية إلى منتسبي الشرطة وعائلاتهم، فضلاً عن كون مهنة التمريض تشكل حجر الزاوية في كفاءة المستشفيات والمراكز الصحية.
وأوضح العقيد جاسم محمد الطنيجي، مدير إدارة الخدمات الطبية أن برنامج اليوم الطبي اشتمل على نشر التوعية بصحة الفم والأسنان لمراجعي عيادات الخدمات الطبية؛ وعرض فيلم يوضح الاستخدام الأمثل لفرش الاسنان واختيار الانسب منها، وإجراء فحوص طبية روتينية لبعض المراجعين مثل أخذ الطول والوزن، وتحديد نوع فصائل الدم
وقدمت اختصاصية التغذية في إدارة الخدمات الطبية عرضاً تناولت فيه أفضل الطرق الطبية المعتمدة في الحمية الغذائية؛ وأنظمة التغذية المتكاملة. كما تم استعراض سبل مكافحة العدوى والطرق المثلى لغسل اليدين وفق المتطلبات الصحية.
الجدير ذكره إن إدارة الخدمات الطبية إذ تستفيد من الأيام والمناسبات الطبية كـ"يوم التمريض العالمي" الذي انطلق عام 1965 بهدف إيصال رسالتها الإنسانية والمشاركة بتحسين وتطوير نظم الرعاية الصحية.
ويحتفي العالم بيوم التمريض العالمي في 12 مايو من كل عام تكريماً لذكرى ميلاد رائدة التمريض فلورنس نايتنجيل التي أرست ملامح التمريض المعاصر.
