Cairo, Egypt - 10th May, 2015 – Eight high growth potential startup companies fostered by Flat6Labs will be participating in the second MENA Angel Investors Summit, due to take place in Bahrain on May 11, 2015. The summit, hosted by Tenmou (Bahrain’s first ever Business Angels organization) aims to provide a platform that will empower angel investors from across the MENA region and around the globe by connecting them with new and innovative entrepreneurs.
Flat6Labs is launching these startups at a time when entrepreneurship possibilities in the region are booming. The eight startup companies that have been selected from the Flat6Labs Cairo, Abu Dhabi and Jeddah offices to participate in this year’s summit are:
- Flip Technologies (UAE): A specialized device and application service that develops activity trackers for action sports, aiming to digitize and quantify the activities performed.
- Sakkini (UAE): A property portal that empowers consumers with information and tools to make smart decisions about properties offered for sale and up for rent.
- Pavillion33 (UAE): A curated marketplace for fine art from the Middle East and Africa.
- Coterique (Egypt): An e-commerce platform selling high end international designer products by collaborating with offline boutiques that already stock them.
- LocName (Egypt): A web and mobile application that gives a short, unique name for your address, which you can then share easily within seconds.
- Simplex (Egypt): A service that offers simple industrial solutions. it's first product is a customizable computer numerical control (CNC) – an automated cutting and engraving machine.
- Codly (Egypt): A platform that accelerates mobile development time and facilitates the communication between designers and developers.
- Smartable (KSA): A communications platform that narrows the gap between education outputs and workforce skill requirements through best utilization of psychometric and aptitude exams, international dictionary of jobs.
Last year’s MENA Angel Summit saw over 150 angel investors and more than 50 budding entrepreneurs from the MENA region, as well as from Europe and the United States, participate in the summit and share their experiences, creating a strong network of mentors and advisors that provided both support and expertise to the young entrepreneurs. As a result, the summit witnessed four regional agreements that were signed for more than BD 2 million.
By participating in the summit, Flat6Labs aims not only to create opportunities and provide support to the aspiring entrepreneurs participating, but also to bring their companies to the attention of top-notch investors that may potentially invest, assist, and mentor the selected participants to further their endeavors.
To date, approximately 50% of companies accelerated by Flat6Labs continue to receive funding from investors after graduation.
Flat6Labs’ participation in the MENA Angel Summit supports its mission to promote and enhance it’s graduate startups, as well as generate more entrepreneurial hubs in the promising and vibrant ecosystems in the MENA region. Flat6Labs also fulfills its mission by creating opportunities for recognition in Cairo, Abu Dhabi, and Jeddah and Beirut, with efforts for continued regional expansions across North Africa, the Levant and Turkey.

القاهرة، مصر، 10 مايو، 2015 – سوف تشارك ثماني من الشركات الناشئة التي من المحتمل أن تشهد نموًا هائلاً والتي ترعاها Flat6Labs في القمة الثانية لمستثمري ريادة الأعمال في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، المزمع عقدها في البحرين في 11 مايو، 2015. وتهدف القمة، التي تستضيفها شركة "تنمو" (أول شركة تطرح مبادرة Business Angels في البحرين) إلى توفير منصة من شأنها تمكين مستثمري ريادة الأعمال من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا ومن جميع أنحاء العالم من خلال ربطهم بأصحاب الأعمال الجدد والمبتكرين.
تُطلق Flat6Labs هذه الشركات الناشئة في وقت تزدهر فيه إمكانيات ريادة الأعمال في المنطقة. وتتمثل الشركات الناشئة الثماني التي تم اختيارها من مكاتب Flat6Labs في القاهرة وأبوظبي وجدة للمشاركة في قمة هذا العام فيما يلي:
- Flip Technologies (الإمارات العربية المتحدة): تقدم خدمة أجهزة وتطبيقات متخصصة تعمل على تطوير أجهزة تتبع الأنشطة لرياضات الحركة، وهي تهدف إلى تحويل الأنشطة التي تم إجراؤها رقميًا وتحديد كميتها.
- Sakkini (الإمارات العربية المتحدة): بوابة معنية بالممتلكات تزود المستهلكين بالمعلومات والأدوات اللازمة لاتخاذ قرارات ذكية بشأن العقارات المعروضة للبيع والإيجار.
- Pavillion33 (الإمارات العربية المتحدة): سوق منظم للفنون الجميلة من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا.
- Coterique (مصر): منصة للتجارة الإلكترونية تبيع المنتجات الراقية والدولية للمصممين من خلال التعاون مع المحلات غير المتصلة بالإنترنت التي يتوفر لديها مخزون من هذه المنتجات بالفعل.
- LocName (مصر): تقدم تطبيقًا يعمل عبر الأجهزة المحمولة والويب يعطي اسمًا قصيرًا وفريدًا لعنوانك، ومن ثم يمكنك مشاركته بسهولة في غضون ثوانٍ.
- Simplex (مصر): خدمة تقدم حلولاً صناعية بسيطة. يتمثل المنتج الأول من إنتاجها في وحدة التحكم الرقمي باستخدام الحاسوب (CNC) القابلة للتخصيص - وهي عبارة عن جهاز مؤتمت للقطع والحفر.
- Codly (مصر): منصة تعمل على تسريع وقت تطوير الأجهزة المحمولة وتسهيل التواصل بين المصممين والمطورين.
- Smartable (المملكة العربية السعودية): منصة اتصالات تعمل على تضييق الفجوة بين مخرجات التعليم ومتطلبات تطوير مهارات القوى العاملة من خلال الاستخدام الأمثل لاختبارات القياسات النفسية واختبارات الذكاء والقاموس الدولي لفرص العمل.
شهدت قمة مستثمري ريادة الأعمال في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا في العام الماضي مشاركة أكثر من 150 مستثمرًا من مستثمري ريادة الأعمال وأكثر من 50 رائدًا من رواد الأعمال الناشئين في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، وكذلك من أوروبا والولايات المتحدة، في القمة وتبادل الخبرات فيما بينهم، مما خلق شبكة قوية من الموجهين والمستشارين الذين قدموا كلاً من الدعم والخبرة لأصحاب المشاريع الشباب. وكنتيجة لذلك، شهدت القمة إبرام أربع اتفاقيات إقليمية بواقع أكثر من مليوني دينار بحريني.
من خلال المشاركة في القمة، لا تهدف Flat6Labs إلى خلق الفرص وتقديم الدعم لأصحاب المشاريع الطموحين المشاركين فحسب، بل إلى تقديم شركاتهم إلى أفضل المستثمرين الذين قد يقومون بالاستثمار مع المشاركين المحددين ومساعدتهم وتوجيههم في مواصلة مساعيهم.
حتى الآن، يستمر ما يقرب من 50% من الشركات الذي تم تسريعها من قِبل Flat6Labs في تلقي التمويل من المستثمرين بعد التخرج.
