Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, participated as a platinum sponsor in the 2nd Middle East Offshore Journal Conference 2015. The conference, which ran from May 19 to May 20, 2015, served as an interactive platform to discuss ways to meet emerging challenges in the Middle East and to tackle numerous recruitment opportunities in the region. The Middle East has become an attractive destination for operators of offshore support vessels in light of the steady growth of its investments into marine production and exploration. The event has been held in the Middle East for the second time by Riviera, the publisher of the Offshore Support Journal (OSJ), a pioneering international publication and event management company specializing in offshore support.
Amer Ali, Executive Director, Dubai Maritime City Authority, said: “The Middle East Offshore Journal Conference is of strategic importance not only for the emirates but also for the region, as it provides an interactive podium to address the local, regional and international challenges in the Middle East’s offshore sector. DMCA has extended its support to the conference in alignment with its Maritime Sector Strategy to strengthen Dubai’s position as the leading global maritime center.”

Industry experts attended the Offshore Support Journal Conference to take an in-depth look at the current regional challenges facing the market, including crewing and training, vessel design and construction, opportunities available outside the Middle East, ship performance, energy efficiency, power and propulsion technology, and dynamic positioning. The two-day event held popular roundtable sessions to provide an excellent platform for brainstorming and exchange of views on how to leverage the regional experience in the global context.
Offshore Support Journal, an undisputed market leader, is circulated in more than 1,000 national and private oil companies and contractors as well as more than 2,200 ship-owners, operators and managing companies of support vessels globally. It organizes the largest specialist conference on offshore support vessels in the world annually in London, UK. OSJ conferences have also taken place in Singapore and the USA. Nearly 5,000 industry professionals, including one-third from the ship owing/operating community, have attended OSJ conferences to date.

"سلطة دبي الملاحية" تختتم مشاركتها الناجحة في النسخة الثانية من "مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط للبحار 2015"

إختتمت "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحية" مشاركتها في "مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط للبحار 2015"، الذي استضافته دبي للمرة الثانية على مدى يومي 19 و20 من شهر مايو الجاري. وشاركت السلطة بصفة راعٍ بلاتيني للمؤتمر الذي حظي بأهمية استراتيجية كونه يوفر منصة تفاعلية لمناقشة سبل مواجهة التحديات الناشئة وتوظيف الفرص المتاحة في الشرق الأوسط الذي بات وجهة جاذبة لمشغلي سفن الدعم البحري، في ظل النمو المطّرد على صعيد الاستثمار في الإنتاج والاستكشاف البحري. وتم تنظيم المؤتمر من قبل شركة "ريفيرا"، الناشر لمجلة "أوفشور سوبورت جورنال" (OSJ) العالمية المتخصصة بالعمليات الهندسية البحرية وقطاع الدعم البحري.
وتعليقاً على الحدث، قال عامر علي، المدير التنفيذي لـ "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحية": "يكتسب "مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط للبحار" أهمية استراتيجية على المستويين المحلي والإقليمي، باعتباره منصة مثالية لمناقشة سبل مواجهة التحديات الحالية والمستقبلية التي تواجه قطاع الدعم البحري في منطقة الشرق الأوسط. وجاءت مشاركتنا بصفة راعٍ بلاتيني للحدث في نسخته الثانية تماشياً مع سعينا الحثيث لتجسيد أهداف الاستراتيجية البحرية في تعزيز المقوّمات التنافسية للقطاع البحري المحلي عالمياً وإقليمياً وترسيخ مكانة دبي كمركز بحري من الطراز الأوّل."

وشهد "مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط للبحار 2015" مشاركة واسعة من روّاد القطاع البحري الإقليمي للاطلاع عن كثب على أبرز القضايا الناشئة التي تواجه العمليات البحرية، بما فيها التطقيم والتدريب وتصميم وبناء السفن، فضلاً عن استعراض الفرص الواعدة المتاحة خارج منطقة الشرق الأوسط ومناقشة المواضيع ذات الصلة بأداء السفن وترشيد استهلاك الطاقة وتقنيات الدفع ونظم التحكم الديناميكي وغيرها. وتخلل جدول أعمال الحدث أيضاً سلسلة من اجتماعات الطاولة المستديرة التي توفر قناة مثالية لتبادل وجهات النظر حول كيفية الاستفادة المُثلى من الخبرة البحرية الإقليمية على المستوى العالمي.
