Cairo, 11 May 2015 - In the context of its commitment towards the society and the development of young talented Egyptians, the Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) has supported the Egyptian entrepreneur Omar Samra in realizing the historical record of becoming the first Egyptian to achieve the “Explorers Grand Slam” challenge; an accomplishment realized by only 40 people throughout history. Samra raised the Egyptian flag along with CIB flag on the northernmost point on the surface of the Earth in recognition of the bank’s supportive role.
The CIB partnership with Samra, which started in December 2014, reflects the leadership of CIB in developing the outstanding talents of ambitious youth and the commitment to providing much needed support. CIB is keen on playing its role in supporting, endorsing and paving the way for such talents, who will be building Egypt’s future.

This is the core for country’s development on all levels and we should all invest in our talented Egyptian youth and acknowledge that they are the driving force of our economy and prosperity”, said Hisham Ezz Al-Arab, CIB Chairman and Managing Director.
Samra succeeded in crossing 111 kilometers and skiing to the last degree of the North Pole; which lies in the middle of the frozen Arctic Ocean. This was Samra’s last step in the “Explorers Grand Slam” challenge; which is the feat of climbing the 7 Summits and skiing to the North and South Poles. Samra,
who has already completed the 7 Summits Challenge in June 2013, succeeded to ski the last degree of the South Pole last December after a 14-day trip, crossing 111 kilometers across Antarctica.
It’s worth mentioning that CIB has been launching and implementing several initiatives to solidify its goal of supporting the Egyptian youth development. Recently, the bank sponsored the third round of the cultural event “Salon Al-Ganoub”, held in Luxor and launched an art initiative in cooperation with the Faculty of Fine Arts in the South Valley University. CIB acquired 40 art pieces by the faculty students and graduates to be added to the bank “Art Collection”, as an encouragement to further develop their unique art talents and generate more distinctive pieces. CIB had also organized a cultural trip for 60 public schools students to the Cairo Opera House, in the context of its initiative to develop young students’ aesthetic sense through fine arts and music, which shape the minds of new generations. All these initiatives and more reflect CIB’s leading and positive role in community development; and in particular the Egyptian youth.

عمر سمره يحقق لقب عالمي في تحدي "مغامرة الجراند سلام" بدعم التجاري الدولي
القاهرة،11 مايو 2015 - إيمانا بأهمية مساهمته بدور فعّال تجاه المجتمع وتنمية الشباب، دعّم البنك التجاري الدولي- مصر المغامر المصري عمر سمره في رحلته للحصول على لقب عالمي كأول مصري يجتاز تحدي "مغامرة الجراند سلام" ليصبح سمره واحداً من 40 شخص في التاريخ استطاعوا تحقيق هذا التحدي. وقد رفع سمرة علم مصر وعلم البنك التجاري الدولي - مصر على القطب الشمالي تتويجاً لنجاحه العالمي وتقديرا لدور البنك.
تمثل شراكة البنك التجاري الدولي - مصر مع سمره، والتي بدأت في ديسمبر 2014، ريادة البنك في تنمية قدرات الشباب الطموح وأهمية توفير الدعم اللازم لهم، فشباب اليوم هم قادة وبناة المستقبل وهم من سيرتقون بالاقتصاد القومي وتحقيق الازدهار في مصر.
أكد هشام عز العرب، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والعضو المٍنتدب للبنك التجاري، "ان البنك التجاري الدولي - باعتباره من أعرق البنوك المصرية - كان وما زال يمارس مسئوليته تجاه دعم واتاحة الفرص امام المواهب الشابة الواعدة لتمكينهم من اداء دورهم في بناء مصر المستقبل". وأضاف "ان ذلك يعتبر جوهر التنمية المجتمعية على جميع الاصعدة، وينبغي علينا جميعاً ان نستثمر في شبابنا المصري الموهوب، ونعترف بأنهم القوة الحقيقية لرفع شأن البلاد".
استطاع سمره تحقيق اللقب العالمي بعد قطع مسافة 111 كيلومتر وتزلج "الدرجة الاخيرة" الى القطب الشمالي، والذي يقع في منتصف المحيط الشمالي المتجمد، ليُنهي بذلك أخر مرحلة من تحدي "مغامرة الجراند سلام" والذي يعني تسلق القمم السبع، بالإضافة الى التزلج الى القطبين الجنوبي والشمالي. وكان سمره قد أكمل تحدي القمم السبع في يونيو 2013، ثم نجح بعدها في تزلج "الدرجة الاخيرة" الى القطب الجنوبي في نهاية ديسمبر 2014 بعد ان قطع 111 كيلومتر في 14 يوم في قارة انتاركتيكا القطبية.
جدير بالذكر، أن البنك التجاري الدولي يقدم الدعم والرعاية للشباب في مجالات مختلفة، حيث قام البنك مؤخراً برعاية الدورة الثالثة لـ "صالون الجنوب" الثقافي بمدينة الأقصر إلى جانب إطلاق مبادرة لدعم المواهب الفنية في صعيد مصر، وذلك بالتعاون مع كلية الفنون الجميلة بجامعة جنوب الوادي. قام خلالها باقتناء 40 قطعة فنية من طلاب وخريجي الكلية لضمها لمجموعته الفنية وذلك بهدف تحفيزهم على تنمية مواهبهم الفنية وتقديم المزيد من الأعمال الفنية المميزة. وعلى جانب آخر، نظم البنك مؤخرا رحلة تثقيفية لعدد 60 طالباً بالمدارس الحكومية الى دار الأوبرا المصرية وذلك بهدف تعريفهم بالفنون الرفيعة وتنمية الحس الجمالي والموسيقي لدى الأجيال الصغيرة وتنمية مداركهم الثقافية، فهم من سيشكلون ثقافة مصر في المستقبل. وتعكس كل تلك المبادرات دور البنك التجاري الدولي الرائد والإيجابي في التنمية المجتمعية وبخاصة الشباب المصري.
