H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led other high-level government officials in the inauguration of the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre today. The opening ceremony was also attended by numerous university heads, school principals and hundreds of visitors and high school students. Taking place until April 17, 2015, this year’s three-day exhibition is expected to attract over 35,000 visitors.
GETEX addresses the needs of incoming university students as well as mature learners seeking to enroll in post-graduate and training programs to boost their careers. Over 2,500 academic, training and vocational programs from leading local, regional and global education providers are being showcased at GETEX. University admission teams are at hand to answer student queries, process registrations and firm up student admissions. In addition, career guidance counsellors are available to assist individuals looking for direction on choosing education programmes that would lead them to a career path suitable to their talents and skills.
Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, GETEX comes at a time when the GCC’s dynamic education sector is expected to witness exponential growth in the coming years thanks to the region’s booming population and economic prosperity. Industry reports predict that the number of private school students in the GCC will triple in the next seven years.

ترأس معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان، وزير الثقافة والشباب وتنمية المجتمع، وفداً رفيع المستوى من كبار المسؤولين الحكوميين في حفل إفتتاح فعاليات معرض الخليج للتعليم والتدريب "جيتكس 2015" اليوم في مركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض، بحضور عددٍ وافرٍ من رؤساء الجامعات ومدراء المدارس ومئات الزوّار وطلبة المدارس الثانوية. وتستمر فعاليات هذا الحدث السنوي لغاية يوم الجمعة القادم في 17 أبريل/نيسان الجاري ومن المتوقّع أن يشهد حضور ما يزيد على 35,000 زائر.
وتشارك في معرض "جيتكس 2015"، الذي يقام تحت رعاية وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، مجموعةٌ واسعةٌ من أبرز الجهات التعليمية المحلية والإقليمية والدولية لإستعراض ما يزيد على 2500 برنامج أكاديمي وتدريبي ومهني أمام الزوّار من الطلبة المقبلين على الدراسة الجامعية والمتخرجين الراغبين بمواصلة دراساتهم العليا أو الإلتحاق بالبرامج التدريبية لتحسين مسارهم المهني. ويتواجد في الحدث ممثلون من الجامعات للتواصل المباشر مع الطلبة والإجابة الفورية على جميع الإستفسارات ومتابعة عمليات التسجيل والقبول، بالإضافة إلى وجود عدد من المتخصّصين في مجال الإرشاد الوظيفي لمساعدة الطلبة في إختيار التخصّص المناسب لمؤهّلاتهم ومهاراتهم الفردية.
ويأتي تنظيم "جيتكس 2015" في وقت إستراتيجي تشير فيه التوقّعات إلى تحقيق قطاع التعليم في منطقة الخليج العربي مستويات نمو فائقة خلال السنوات القادمة في ظل النمو المطرد في التعداد السكاني والحركة الإقتصادية في المنطقة. وتتوقّع التقارير المطّلعة أيضاً بأن يرتفع عدد الطلبة في المدارس الخاصة في الدول الخليجية بنسبة ثلاثة أضعاف خلال السنوات السبع المقبلة.
وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أوضح معالي الشيخ نهيان بن مبارك آل نهيان بأنّ استضافة حدث تعليمي على هذا المستوى من الاحترافية والتميز يؤكّد مجدّداً المكانة الريادية التي وصلت إليها دولة الإمارات كمركز رائد وهام للتعليم، في ظل الدعم اللامحدود الذي توليه القيادة الرشيدة لقطاع التعليم باعتباره دعامة أساسية لبناء جيل جديد مؤهل لمواصلة مسيرة النهضة الشاملة.
وأضاف معاليه: "برزت الإمارات خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية كوجهة رئيسية للسياحة التعليمية في العالم، وهو ما يعود بالدرجة الأولى إلى ما تتمتع به من الأمن والأمان والاستقرار الاجتماعي والتقدم الاقتصادي والبنية التحتية المتطورة. ويأتي تنظيم معرض الخليج للتعليم والتدريب "جيتكس" ليمثل استكمالاً للجهود الرامية إلى ترسيخ حضور الدولة على الخارطة التعليمية العالمية، كونه منصة استراتيجية هامة لتمكين الطلبة من الإطلاع على محفظة متنوعة من الخيارات التعليمية المقدمة من نخبة الجامعات والمؤسسات الأكاديمية التي تعتبر من بين الأهم على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي."

ويعد معرض الخليج للتعليم والتدريب "جيتكس" الذي إنطلق لأوّل مرّة في العام 1988، واحداً من أهم الفعاليات الموجّهة للطلبة في المنطقة إذ يهدف إلى إستعراض أفضل البرامج التعليمية والتدريبية أمام الطلبة في دولة الإمارات. وتتمحور الدورة السابعة والعشرين من المعرض حول أبرز الإتّجاهات والتخصّصات والبرامج والمنهجيات الدراسية السائدة في السوق الإقليمية والعالمية.
