and Opportunities Set to Be Discussed at Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference

The opening of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) to foreign investment
could be one of the most important financial events of the year, according to
experts preparing for the Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference, taking place from
5-6 May 2015.
A report by Jadwa Investment published last year
suggested the initiative could bring as much as US$ 50 billion into the market.
Although no fixed date has been announced, investors are
anticipating that Tadawul will open to foreign investment by large investors in
the first half of 2015, with plans already at an advanced stage. The Capital
Markets Authority of Saudi Arabia published draft regulations on the types of
funds that will be able to invest at the end of 2014, sparking excitement
across the markets.
This year’s Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference will
feature an exclusive on-stage interview with Mohamed Al-Jadaan, Chairman of the
Capital Market Authority, to provide the latest updates on the process for
local and international bankers.
In addition, the event will features insights from
leading figures in the financial world, such as Jean Lemierre, Chairman of BNP
Paribas, who will explain how their institutions are preparing for this key moment
in financial history. According to recent reports, a number of international
banks have been hiring and building up their Saudi offices in advance of the
opening.

يعتقد بعض الخبراء الماليون ممن يستعدون
للمشاركة في مؤتمر "يوروموني السعودية 2015"، الذي سيعقد في الرياض من 5
إلى 6 مايو القادم، أن فتح باب سوق الأوراق المالية في المملكة العربية السعودية
(تداول) أمام الاستثمار الأجنبي قد يكون أحد أهم الأحداث المالية في هذا العام.
وقد جاء في تقرير أصدرته شركة "جدوى
للاستثمار" العام الماضي أن هذه المبادرة يمكن لها أن تسهم في تدفق ما يقارب
50 مليار دولار أمريكي إلى السوق.
وعلى الرغم من أنه لم يتم إلى الآن الإعلان
عن موعد محدد لفتح السوق أمام المستثمرين الأجانب، إلا أنهم يتوقعون أن تقوم تداول
وكمرحلة أولى بالسماح لكبار المستثمرين بالتعامل في السوق خلال النصف الأول من
2015، علماً أنه قد تم قطع شوط كبير في وضع الخطط اللازمة لذلك. وكانت هيئة السوق
المالية في المملكة قد نشرت في نهاية 2014 مسودة بالنظم فيما يتعلق بأنواع
الصناديق المالية التي ستتمكن من الاستثمار في تداول، مما أشاع جواً من التفاؤل في
الأسواق.
وسيتضمن مؤتمر "يوروموني
السعودية" لهذا العام إجراء مقابلة حصرية مع الأستاذ محمد الجدعان رئيس هيئة السوق
المالية في المملكة، يتحدث فيها عن أحدث المستجدات المتعلقة بالإجراءات المطلوبة
من المصرفيين المحليين والدوليين.
وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، سيتضمن المؤتمر طرح آراء
لقادة في عالم المال، فمثلاً سيتحدث جان ليميير رئيس مجلس إدارة بنك PNB Paribas عن الإجراءات التي يتخذها البنك استعداداً لهذه النقلة التاريخية
في سوق الأسهم السعودية. وتشير بعض التقارير التي صدرت حديثاً إلى أن عدداً من
البنوك الدولية تسارع إلى استئجار وبناء مكاتب لها في المملكة قبيل افتتاح السوق
المالي أمام المستثمرين الأجانب.
وقال ريتشارد بانكس، المدير الإقليمي لمؤتمرات "يوروموني":
"لربما كانت سوق المملكة العربية السعودية تمثل أهم فرص الاستثمار خلال
الأشهر الاثني عشر القادمة، ولذلك تراقب معظم المؤسسات المالية الكبيرة في العالم
ما يجري في هذه السوق عن كثب. ولا زالت السوق بانتظار توضيحات حول موعد فتح الباب
أمام المستثمرين الأجانب، وأنواع وطبيعة المستثمرين الذين سيتمكنون من القيام
بذلك. ولذلك، سيكون مؤتمر "يوروموني السعودية" لهذا العام فرصة مهمة
للاستماع للمسؤولين الذين يتولون الإشراف على هذه الخطوة الكبيرة، ولقادة عدد من
المصارف الدولية حول ما الذي يتوقع حدوثه بعد ذلك."
