Hitachi Data
Systems’ CTO Bob Plumridge outlines the benefits and pathways to data mobility
through Hybrid Cloud Solutions at IDC’s most attended Middle East CIO Summit
2015
Dubai, UAE; February 23,
2015: Attendees of the International Data
Corporation (IDC) Middle East CIO Summit next week will be among the first in
the region to learn how to maximize the power of their corporate data on a
variety of mobile platforms. Bob Plumridge,
Chief Technology Officer of Hitachi Data Systems in Europe, Middle East & Africa is set to discuss the current transformation of the Middle East’s data mobility
landscape in the region at the IDC CIO Summit, taking place on
February 25-26 at the Atlantis, The Palm.
"Customer
relationships, business models, workforce dynamics, and marketing channels are
all undergoing irrevocable change at the hands of digital transformation. The
technologies making all this possible are revolutionizing the IT landscape to
the extent that by 2020, 60% of CIOs will have been supplanted by Chief Digital
Officers for the delivery of IT products and services,” states Jyoti Lalchandani, Group
Vice President and regional managing director at IDC Middle East, Turkey, and
Africa (META).
Participating
in the Cloud and Datacenter panel discussion, Hitachi Data Systems’ CTO for
Europe, Middle East & Africa will
share insight into the challenges
customers in the Middle East are facing in managing the explosive growth of
unstructured content, and how HDS enables them to achieve the cost and
flexibility benefits of the cloud by reducing capital and operating expenses. His
participation will also reveal how new forms of end user-friendly, secure and
reliable data mobility, are reducing technology ownership costs by 60% through leveraging
cloud and file sharing technologies in ways that were never before possible.
Commenting
on the new age of mobility, Aaron White, General Manager Hitachi Data Systems
Middle East and Pakistan explains, “Businesses in this region are determined to
eliminate complexity, increase security through data management, and optimize
their technology spending through software or infrastructure. Secure data
sharing on mobile platforms through
Hitachi’s ‘plug and play’ solutions addresses these immediate regional needs,
and we are delighted that our EMEA CTO will outline the path to these benefits
at the upcoming IDC CIO Summit.”
The Summit will include strong business metrics
alongside the existing IT-related metrics in this year’s ‘IT meets business’
theme including industry panels touching on Security, Enterprise Mobility,
Cloud and Datacenter and Digital transformation.
About the Hitachi Content Platform Portfolio
The Hitachi Content Platform
portfolio is the only integrated solution that brings together object storage,
file sync and share and file gateways to create truly secure, simple and smart
cloud storage solution. The uniquely integrated portfolio
is easy to set up, manage, maintain and adapt as business needs change
and technologies evolve. With the HCP portfolio, IT organizations and cloud
service providers can easily store, share, synchronize, protect, preserve,
analyze and retrieve file data from a single system. By avoiding the need for
separate systems for each workload, HCP can apply compression and deduplication
across a consolidated environment, making it much more efficient and cost
effective. It also offers a much faster time to value for customers, and time
to market for service providers by eliminating the hassles of do-it-yourself
integration. No other object storage solution in the industry rivals the depth
of HCP integration across workforce mobility components and security features on
premises and across public clouds.
