Joint efforts between UAE and Germany to encourage German companies explore investment opportunities across maritime sector in Dubai

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) has discussed ways to enhance joint maritime cooperation and explore potential maritime-based investment opportunities between Dubai and Hamburg. This was announced during a recent visit made by German trade delegation headed by Prof Dr. Hans-Jorg Schmidt-Trenz, CEO, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and Corinna Nienstedt, Executive Vice President and International Director, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to the DMCA offices recently.
The delegation was met by Amer Ali, Executive Director, accompanied by the Authority’s senior executives and managers. During their visit, Ali stressed on the importance of consolidating ties between the two countries, especially across the exchange of knowledge and experiences, which can help serve common goals and visions set by the UAE and Germany.
Ali said: “DMCA believes in the importance of working together to reflect future ambitious aspirations--leading us towards intensifying efforts to enhance bilateral maritime relations between Dubai and Hamburg. This visit is an important move that will support our tireless efforts to enable German companies to optimally benefit from promising investment opportunities within the local maritime sector, which has seen steady growth over the past few years. The experienced increase can be attributed to the unlimited support given by the country’s wise leadership and the tireless efforts exerted by the DMCA to establish solid legislative standards and guidelines that will improve the performance, safety, efficiency and competitiveness of the maritime sector, which in turn will help strengthen Dubai's status as a world class global maritime hub.”
In response to the warm reception that they received, the delegates from Hamburg praised the authority and their move to support the country's efforts to position Dubai as an attractive maritime hub for potential regional and international investors. The delegates also lauded the DMCA's continuing commitment in strengthening the competitive advantages of Dubai on the maritime level--regionally and globally, through developing world-class standards and guidelines and the upgrading of infrastructure, operational processes, logistics and diversifying investment opportunities.

ناقشت "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحية" سبل تعزيز التعاون البحري المشترك بين دبي وهامبورغ، وذلك خلال الزيارة الرسمية التي قام بها مؤخراً وفد رفيع المستوى برئاسة الدكتور هانز جورج شميدت ترينز، الرئيس التنفيذي لـ "غرفة تجارة هامبورغ" في ألمانيا، ترافقه السيدة كورينا نينستيدت، نائب الرئيس التنفيذي والمدير الدولي.
وكان في استقبال الوفد الألماني عدد من كبار المديرين والمسؤولين في "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحية"، وفي مقدّمتهم عامر علي، المدير التنفيذي، الذي أكّدَ على أهمية تفعيل جسور تبادل الخبرات واستكشاف آفاق تأسيس شراكات استراتيجية متينة بين روّاد القطاع البحري في الإمارات وألمانيا في المستقبل، بما يخدم التطلعات المشتركة.
وقال عامر علي: "نؤمن في "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحيّة" بأهمية العمل المشترك لتجسيد التطلعات المستقبلية الطموحة، وهو ما يدفعنا إلى تكثيف جهودنا لتعميق العلاقات البحرية الثنائية بين دبي وهامبورغ. وشكّلت الزيارة محطة هامة من شأنها دعم مساعينا الحثيثة لتمكين الشركات الألمانية من الاستفادة بالشكل الأمثل من الفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة ضمن القطاع البحري المحلي، الذي شهد نمواً مطّرداً خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية في ظل الدعم اللامحدود الذي توليه القيادة الرشيدة والجهود الحثيثة المبذولة من السلطة البحرية لإرساء أطر تشريعية وتنظيمية متينة، من شأنها الارتقاء بأداء وسلامة وكفاءة وتنافسية القطاع البحري وترسيخ مكانة دبي كمركز بحري عالمي من الطراز الأول."
وأشاد وفد "غرفة تجارة هامبورغ" بالمكانة الريادية التي وصلت إليها إمارة دبي ودولة الإمارات على الخارطة البحرية العالمية باعتبارها مركزاً بحرياً جاذباً لأبرز المستثمرين الإقليميين والدوليين، مثمناً الدور الحيوي الذي تقوم به "سلطة مدينة دبي الملاحية" على صعيد تعزيز المزايا التنافسية لإمارة دبي على الصعيد البحري إقليمياً وعالمياً، من خلال تطوير لوائح تنظيمية وتشريعات عالمية المستوى وتحديث البنى التحتية والعمليات التشغيلية والخدمات اللوجستية وتنويع الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة.
