February 9, 2015 - ProjectWise provides Parsons Brinckerhoff with a secure collaborative platform for its multi-discipline teams to create, manage, share, capture, review and approve design documents and project information. “ProjectWise is our standard for design integration and collaboration which expedites the sharing and reuse of design documents within our project teams,” said Leah Mackay, information system manager, Rail & Transit, Parsons Brinckerhoff. “With ProjectWise, we have standardized our processes, resulting in increased productivity, better design quality, and global collaboration.”
Like many organizations, however, Parsons Brinckerhoff face the challenges of sharing project files efficiently with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders outside the core project teams. Tasks such as review and approval of deliverables across multiple offices and stakeholders are often labor intensive requiring large scale coordination by a team of document controllers. RFI management is another example of a process that needs constant monitoring and tracking and an effective form of communication for all involved. Submission of project documentation between project participants is another time intensive task involving multiple team members. Whilst all of this processing is happening daily, our senior management teams require regular project status reports on all activities.
In order to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs, Parsons Brinckerhoff looks to the next release of ProjectWise Connections Services and its deliverables management capability to streamline project workflows and expedite the document review and approval process for critical project documents. “With ProjectWise Deliverables Management we will have easy-to-use, secure cloud-based environment, for transmittals, submittals and RFIs,” said Leah. “This powerful capability will simplify documentation workflow for critical project information, provide an excellent end user interface to manage submissions and RFIs and provide our senior management teams the project health information they require in one simple dashboard at the click of a button. Project communications and visibility will be improved dramatically with these fantastic new features.”
ProjectWise Deliverables Management provides extensive integration with ProjectWise, so as design documents are updated, project participants are notified, directing them to key deliverables requiring their review, comment and approval. “Now key stakeholders will have the information required to understand documents status and recognize potential bottlenecks required to minimize delays and mitigate the risk to project delivery,” said Leah.
