‘A Walk for a Walk’ campaign to be held in Fujairah to support the Emirates Walk for Autism
Dubai, UAE: Ad Fusion Media FZE and My Clinic Magazine, in collaboration with Dr. Nahida Abdulla Abdulkadir Nasseri, founder of ‘The Emirates Walk For Autism’ and Al Sharq Hospital, will be organizing ‘A WALK for a WALK’ event in February to raise awareness for the 7th Annual Autism walk, scheduled for April 2015 in Dubai.
The National Autism Awareness campaigns are held globally during the month of April. The Emirates Walk for Autism first took place in April 2009, initiated by Dr. Nahida Abdulla Abdulkadir Nasseri and supported by Emirates Red Crescent to help fund research and more importantly to educate the public about Autism.
According to Dr. Nahida, “Autism puts immense financial and emotional strain on affected families. We hope that every little bit we do helps the families become more aware of autism and learn ways to cope through assistance provided by specialist schools and medical professionals.”
“We believe all children have the right to learn, achieve and participate fully in education and in the wider community regardless of their abilities and behaviors’. Our aim is to raise awareness about Autism to the public and work together to address their needs given that one in 10 families in UAE are affected by Autism, Adds Dr. Nahida.
Dr. Ali Ahmed Banihamour, Founder & CEO of My Clinic magazine hopes more organisations include Autism awareness into their CSR programmes and help fund research that can enhance therapies and help children get placement in the right schools with the right support instead of being forced to attend mainstream schools.
‘A walk for a Walk’ campaign will be supported by the Famous Legendary Pop Artist Peter Marco from New York who will be hosting an ART learning experience with Children represented by the Ministry of Education in Fujairah.
Aisha Yousef, Editor of My Clinic and En Route Middle East, initiated the event in Fujairah after a chance meeting with Dr. Nahida. Her objective is to encourage people to be more supportive and understanding of the difficulty autistic children face when their routine or environment is changed.
The Fujairah ‘A Walk for a Walk’ event will take place on the 20th of February in the Fujairah Corniche area.

إنطلاق من حملة "خطوة نحو المسيرة" في إمارة الفجيرة دعماً لمسيرة الإمارات من أجل مرضى التوحد ، تنظم شركة «أدفيوجن ميديا ش.م.ح»، ومجلة "ماي كلينيك My Clinic"، وبالتعاون مع كل من الدكتورة ناهدة عبد الله عبد القادر ناصري، المؤسِسة لمبادرة "مسيرة الإمارات من أجل التوحد" ، ومستشــفى الشـــرق ؛ فعالية "خطوة نحو المسيرة" في شهر فبراير، من أجل رفع مستوى الوعي بالحملة السنوية لدعم مرضى التوحد المقامة في أبريل 2015 بإمارة دبي.
حيث يتم إقامة وتنظيم حملات التوعية الوطنية بمرض التوحد؛ في شهر أبريل من كل عام؛ على مستوى العالم. وقد تم إطلاق المسيرة الأولى لدعم مرضى التوحد بدولة الإمارات في أبريل 2009، بمبادرة من الدكتورة ناهدة وبدعم من الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي؛ للمساعدة في تمويل الأبحاث وتثقيف الجمهور حول مرض التوحد.
وفي هذا الشأن صرحت الدكتورة ناهدة قائلة، " يسبب مرض التوحد في ضغوطات مالية ونفسية على الأسر المتضررة من هذا المرض. ونحن نأمل في أن يساهم ما نقوم به في مساعدة الأسَـر على وعي وإلمام تمام بمرض التوحد، بمساعدة من المدارس المتخصصة وأصحاب المهن الطبية ".
كما أضافت الدكتورة ناهدة قائلة،" جميع الأطفال لديهم الحق في التعليم بغض النظر عن قدراتهم وسلوكياتهم، ونحن نهدف إلى رفع مستوى الوعي حول مرض التوحد وتلبية احتياجاتهم، نظراً لكون واحدة من كل عشرة أسر إماراتية متضررة من هذا المرض،".
هذا في حين يأمل الدكتور علي أحمد بن هامور ، المؤسس والرئيس التنفيذي لمجلة "ماي كلينيك My Clinic "، في أن يقوم عدد أكبر من المؤسسات بإدراج حملة التوعية بمرض التوحد في برامج المسؤولية الاجتماعية للشركات، والمساعدة في تمويل الأبحاث اللازمة من أجل دعم العلاجات والأدوية ومساعدة الأطفال على الحصول على الدعم المناسب.
هذا ويتم دعم الحملة من قبل الرسام الشهير، الفنان بيتر ماركو من نيويورك، والذي يستضيف مبادرة "آرت" لتعليم الفنون للأطفال التي تطلقها وزارة التربية والتعليم في الفجيرة.
حيث قامت السيدة \ عائشة يوسف، رئيس تحرير مجلة "ماي كلينيك My Clinic"، ومجلة “إن روت / الشرق الأوسط EnRoute Middle East” بافتتاح الفعالية عقب لقائها بالدكتورة ناهدة؛ آملةً في تعزيز مستوى الإستيعاب والوعي بالصعوبات التي يواجهها الأطفال الذين يعانون من التوحد عند تغير أسلوب حياتهم اليومي أو البيئة المحيطة بهم .
هذا وسوف تنطلق فعالية "خطوة نحو المسيرة" في الـ 20 من شهر فبراير على كورنيش الفجيرة.
