[UAE, December 30, 2014] – Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) and Chairman of the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), delivered a lecture titled ‘Quality and Future of Higher Education’ in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in his capacity as a visiting professor of the UNESCO Chair for Quality in Higher Education at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. Dr. Al Awar’s discussions revolved around three main themes, namely ‘The Essence of Quality in Higher Education Institutions,’ ‘Quality of Smart Education,’ and ‘Quality Scale in Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University.’
Dr. Al awar delivered his lecture before an audience of 850 elite academicians including Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Bin Abdullah Al-Zakri, Professor of UNESCO Chair for Quality in Higher Education at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University; deans and faculty members of Quality and Development Faculty, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Faculty of Social Sciences; and postgraduates and professors of research chairs from the university.
Dr. Al Awar said quality has become strategically important as an integrated framework aimed at developing the higher education system in line with the Gulf region’s accelerated efforts to transform into a knowledge-based economy. He pointed out that higher educational institutions are in dire need of adopting a comprehensive quality management system to meet the students’ current and future aspirations.
In addition, he said smart education has become an essential pillar in ensuring a better future. He noted that HBMSU, in particular, focuses on promoting the ‘Total Quality Management’ concept, enriching knowledge, and strengthening creativity, innovation and excellent culture and scientific research in the Arab World through smart learning. He added that the provision of an integrated learning environment, along with accredited academic programs of highest quality standards, will enable higher educational institutions to keep pace with rapid technological development and successive changes in today’s digital age. This leads to building qualified generations capable of leading growth and development processes.
Dr. Al Awar concluded: “It is an honor to be invited by Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and deliver a lecture as a visiting professor of the UNESCO Chair for Quality in Higher Education. رئيس "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" يُحاضر في "الجودة ومستقبل التعليم العالي" في "جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية"
]الإمارات، 30 ديسمبر، 2014 [- ألقى الدكتور منصور العور، رئيس "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" رئيس مجلس أمناء "معهد اليونِسكو لتقنيات المعلومات في التعليم" (IITE)، محاضرة تحت عنوان "الجودة ومستقبل التعليم العالي" في المملكة العربية السعودية، وذلك بصفته أستاذ زائر لكرسي اليونِسكو للجودة في التعليم العالي في "جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية". وناقش العور 3 محاور رئيسية تمثلت في "ماهية الجودة في مؤسسات التعليم العالي" و"الجودة في التعليم الذكي" و"مقياس الجودة في جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية"، أمام ما يقارب من 850 من نخبة الأكاديميين، وعلى رأسهم الدكتور محمد بن ابراهيم بن عبدالله الزكري، أستاذ كرسي اليونِسكو للجودة في التعليم العالي في "جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية"، والعمداء وأعضاء الهيئة التدريسية في "كلية الجودة والتطوير" و"كلية الاقتصاد والعلوم الإدارية" و"كلية العلوم الاجتماعية" وبعض طلبة الدراسات العليا وأساتذة كراسي البحث في الجامعة.
وأوضح الدكتور منصور العور بأنّ الجودة باتت تحظى بأهمية استراتيجية باعتبارها إطاراً متكاملاً لتطوير منظومة التعليم العالي بما يتماشى مع التطوّرات المتسارعة التي يفرضها التحوّل إلى اقتصاد قائم على المعرفة في منطقة الخليج العربي، لافتاً إلى أنّ مؤسسات التعليم العالي أصبحت في حاجة ملحّة لتبنّي نظام شامل لإدارة الجودة لضمان تلبية تطلعات الطلبة الحالية والمستقبلية.
وأشار العور إلى أنّ التعليم الذكي عالي الجودة برز كدعامة أساسية للانطلاق نحو مستقبل أفضل، موضحاً بأنّ "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" تولي اهتماماً خاصاً بنشر فكر إدارة الجودة الشاملة وإثراء المعرفة وترسيخ ثقافة الإبداع والابتكار والتميز والبحث العلمي في العالم العربي عبر التعلّم الذكي. وأضاف بأنّ توفير بيئة تعليمية متكاملة وبرامج أكاديمية معتمدة وقائمة على أعلى معايير الجودة يمهّد الطريق أمام مؤسسات التعليم العالي لمواكبة التقدم التكنولوجي والمتغيرات المتلاحقة التي يفرضها العصر الرقمي، بما يسهم في بناء أجيال مؤهلة لقيادة مسيرة النمو والتقدّم.
واختتم العور: "تشرفت بتلبية دعوة "جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية" والمشاركة بصفة أستاذ زائر لكرسي اليونسكو للجودة في التعليم العالي. وسُعِدت بلقاء نخبة من الأساتذة والشخصيات الأكاديمية وطلبة الدراسات العليا في الجامعة التي تساهم في دفع عجلة النهوض بالبحث العلمي وتوفير أفضل خدمات التعليم الجامعي والدراسات العليا في السعودية ."
