14 January, Ras Al-Khaimah — Al Hamra Real Estate Development has announced its participation at The Bride Show Abu Dhabi after a surge in the number of destination weddings being booked at Al Hamra Village, and General Manager Benoy Kurien said couples are drawn by the idyllic location.

“The growing popularity of Al Hamra Village for destination weddings is an indication of our unique proposition. Our range of five-star hospitality venues and catering options are a big part of the appeal, as is the stunning private beach and views over the Gulf, which provides the perfect backdrop,” he said.

Dubbed as a must-attend event in the 2015 fashion calendar, The Bride Show Abu Dhabi will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on 28-31 January 2015. As the leading wedding and lifestyle event in the region it is expected to attract thousands of brides-to-be and their entourage of family and friends, and Mr. Kurien explained how Indian and white weddings will be a key focus.

“While we are able to accommodate any and all wedding arrangements, Indian and white weddings have proven to be the most popular, and we see The Bride Show Abu Dhabi as the ideal platform for demonstrating why couples should choose Al Hamra Village as the venue for their big day,” he said.

“We recognise that choosing the wedding venue is an important decision for couples and our locations provide an exceptional experience. In a recent wedding that took place in Al Hamra Village, we welcomed more than 800 guests who travelled from all over the world to Al Hamra Village, to share in the festivities at two grand Indian weddings at the end of last year.”

“Indian weddings are a spectacular occasion and we are delighted for the new couples. Pre-wedding functions at the beach club and convention centre were followed by beach and poolside ceremonies, while the sunset provided a romantic setting for the vows that were exchanged.” he continued.

The festivities closed with a grand finale at a gala reception hosted by the Al Hamra Golf Club, where the spectacular décor left invitees speechless, according to Mr. Kurien. The weddings also saw guests booked out 274 of the 346 rooms at the Waldorf Astoria – representing an 80 percent occupancy rate.

“Many of the guests attending the wedding compared the location to Goa, Bangkok, and other well-known wedding destinations. The growing popularity of Ras Al Khaimah can also be seen in other visitors that are welcomed each year. More than 26,000 tourists came here during Eid Al Fitr alone, and the emirate is becoming very popular with visitors from the UK, India, Russia, and Germany.”

Located a short 45 minute drive from Dubai International Airport and with five world-class hotels, Mr. Kurien said that there is nowhere else more suited to hosting destination weddings in UAE.
