Oetker Collection, which owns and manages some of the best-known hotels in the world continues its growth with the recent announcement that the iconic Lanesborough Hotel in London is to become the latest masterpiece in the portfolio. Since July 2013, Oetker Collection has continued to restore Seychelles property Fregate Island Private, including the refurbishment of facilities and island amenities as well as environmental initiatives and training programs.
The new Managing Director of the Island, Wayne Kafcsak, brings significant experience to the resort with 35 years in the luxury hospitality industry. Kafcsak has the support of experienced staff coming from sister hotels in the Collection. The island’s new Executive Chef, Alan Larch, who joined in October, has become an integral team member, embracing the culinary culture at Fregate Island Private, soon to be joined by a new international spa director.
Guests consistently award Fregate Island Private staff as the best in the Seychelles, exceeding all other competing hotels in the area. The staff is comprised of 37 different nationalities to meet guests’ needs. The island has recently implemented Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) standards so that employees are appropriately assisted with their living standards. The property has also

The marina area has been renovated with brand-new equipment; the Yacht Club has been revamped as well as both the Anse Bamboo Beach Bar and the Pirate Bar. The Island has installed new, state-of-the-art fuel-efficient generators to power the island and a wastewater plant that converts wastewater to 95% pure usable water for irrigation.
Fregate Island Private recently purchased a fleet of novel golf carts, all of which are powered by hybrid technology, as well as new Cummins ultra-fuel saving boat engines. LED and CFC lighting have been installed throughout the property. Finally, major pruning and landscaping improvements completed in several locations on the island have significantly assisted pest control.
Furthermore, Oetker Collection has just announced that Villa Stephanie, Europe’s finest destination spa will officially open its door early 2015 as part of Brenners Park Hotel & Spa in Baden Baden.
