King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital is first Saudi Ministry of Health hospital to achieve this global recognition for use of health informatics
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (17 December 2014) – King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) has achieved Stage 6 on the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). HIMSS’ independent validation recognizes that the hospital meets all of the criteria for a Stage 6 hospital in the deployment and use of clinical information technology and advanced safety features to further enhance the quality of patient care.
King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital is the first Saudi Ministry of Health hospital to achieve this global recognition, which reflects the vision and drive of the Ministry of Health to adopt the latest technology to provide world-class healthcare to the patients in the Kingdom. Achieving HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 places KKESH among the elite hospitals that have successfully deployed this level of healthcare information technology, among more than 7,500 hospitals tracked by HIMSS Analytics globally.
“King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital has implemented full, mandated Computerized Physician Order Entry and electronic clinical documentation for both nurses and physicians. As a result, virtually all clinical orders are being placed electronically, and most clinical documentation is in electronic format – often in structured format,” said Uwe Buddrus, Senior Consultant at HIMSS Analytics.
HIMSS Analytics developed EMRAM in 2005 as a methodology for evaluating the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics™ Database. Tracking their progress in completing eight stages (0-7), hospitals can review the implementation and utilization of information technology applications with the goal of reaching Stage 7, the most advanced electronic patient record environment.

مستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون يحصل على جائزة تصنيف المستوى السادس (HIMSS Stage 6) باستخدام نظام تراكير من انترسيستمز
الرياض، 17 ديسمبر 2014 - حصل مستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون على جائزة تصنيف المستوى السادس لنظم اعتماد السجلات الطبية الإلكترونية المعروف بنموذج (EMRAM) الذي يندرج تحت مظلة جمعية أنظمة معلومات الرعاية الصحية وإدارتها (HIMSS).
ووفقا لنظام الجمعية المستقل للتحقق من صحة مطابقة المعايير، فقد حقق المستشفى كافة المتطلبات للفئات الخاصة بالمستوى السادس والمتمثلة في تطبيق واستخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات السريرية ومقومات السلامة المتقدمة التى تؤدى الى تعزيز نوعية الرعاية الصحية للمرضى.
ويعد مستشفى الملك خالد التخصصي للعيون أول المستشفيات التابعة لوزارة الصحة السعودية التي تحقق هذا الانجاز العالمي، و يعكس ذلك رؤية وزارة الصحة وتوجهاتها لتبنى أحدث التقنيات لتوفير مستوى عالمي من الرعاية الصحية للمرضى في المملكة. و بتحقيقه للمستوى السادس من نظام (EMRAM) ينضم المستشفى إلى قائمة المستشفيات المرموقة عالميا و التي تتبنى بنجاح هذا المستوى المتقدم من تكنولوجيا المعلومات الخاصة بالرعاية الصحية و التي يتم متابعتها من قبل مؤسسة Analytics) (HIMSSو يتجاوز عددها 7,500 مستشفى حول العالم.

يشار إلى أن مؤسسة Analytics) (HIMSS قد طورت نموذج (EMRAM) كمنهج لمتابعة وتقييم التقدم الحاصل في تطبيق آلية نظم السجلات الطبية الإلكترونية وتأثيرها في تقدم المستشفيات الموجودة في قاعدة بياناتها. ومن خلال متابعة تطبيق المراحل من 0 إلى 7، فإن باستطاعة المستشفيات القيام برصد التقدم الحاصل في استخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات الصحية بهدف تحقيق المرحلة السابعة وهى المرحلة الأكثر تقدما في مجال السجلات الطبية الإلكترونية للمرضى.
