Under the Slogan “Khalifa Our Pride”
The (999) Magazine, the Ministry of Interior’s cultural, social, and security magazine, hosted a ceremony to mark the issuance of its 43rd National Day special edition. The ceremony was held at the Emirates Palace Hotel under the slogan “Khalifa Our Pride”, which celebrates the march of progress and development witnessed by the UAE in various aspects of life.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and sponsor of the event; Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services and Chairman of 999 Magazine Development Committee; and Lt. Colonel Awadh Saleh Al Kendi, Editor in Chief of 999 Magazine. Also attending were a number of officers from the MoI and Abu Dhabi Police, sponsor companies’ representatives, and a number of prominent media figures.
In his speech on the occasion, Major General Al Nuaimi said, “This auspicious occasion reflects the most sublime values of loyalty and belonging to the UAE and its higher leadership; which strived to continue the march of prosperity and giving, to build a solid Union, based on the strong foundations laid down by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
Adding further, he emphasized that culture is the real criterion to assess people’s renaissance and knowledge. It is also the cumulative store of experiences, knowledge, and expertise required in order to face potential challenges. “Despite the essential role of culture and its contribution to intellectual and scientific development, most people are unaware of the importance of reading; they are oblivious of the fact that glory is accumulated knowledge built up through the centuries. This requires radical action, because of the large numbers of knowledge mediums that are easily accessible for everyone, either through the internet, or via the translated, and not-translated books,” he said.
Furthermore, Major General Al Nuaimi explained that 999 Magazine has achieved a remarkable qualitative and quantitative development, with the issuance of the 999 Magazine for Children and the Community News Appendix in Arabic and English.
In conclusion, Major General Al Nuaimi extended his thanks and appreciation for Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Chairman of 999 Magazine Development Committee, for his unyielding support to the magazine. He also thanked Lt. Colonel Awadh Saleh Al Kendi, 999 Magazine Editor in Chief, as well as to the sponsoring institutions and supporting companies for their prominent role in bringing success to the auspicious event.
The sponsoring institutions expressed the utmost thanks and appreciation to the UAE, which endeavors to provide safety and security for all of its citizens and residents. George Bechara, sponsoring company representative, stressed that participating in such an important national event is an unparalleled honor. “On this day, we recall the past achievements of the forefathers and their sacrifices that contributed to the UAE’s progress and development,” he said. He also noted that since its inception, 999 Magazine has added an important cultural diminution to the security media system, and promoted the MoI’s vision, aimed at ensuring that Abu Dhabi remains a society that enjoys safety and security.
For his part, Abdo Smaydaa, representing the supporting companies, delivered a speech by which he said that the UAE people can be proud of ranking among the happiest people in the world thanks to 43 years of hard work since the establishment of the Union, whose foundation were laid by the wise Arab leader, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his brothers, Rulers of the Emirates. He also extended his heartfelt thanks to the UAE’s generosity; and to the police and security bodies; stressing that taking part in such a remarkable ceremony is merely an act of gratitude towards this country.
In the same context, the famous Emirati poet Ali Al Khawar said that attending this event is a privilege and an honor. He also expressed his pride to being part of the Magazine’s work team since its inception. He recited the “UAE Flag” poem that he penned especially to commemorate the 43rd National Day, which reads as follows:
Under the wise leadership of Zayed and Rashid
The UAE flag flies aloft
Above the clouds and past the mountains tops
Under the wise leadership of our beloved Khalifa and Abu Rashid
Our Emirati flag flutters higher than high
The ceremony also featured several performances, notably the national operetta “UAE Flag”, penned by Ali Al Khawar, composed by Fayez Al Saeed, and performed by Fayez Al Saeed and artist Aryam. The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience who lauded it’s the beautiful lyrics, melody, and expressive connotations that reflect feelings of loyalty and belonging to the UAE and its wise leaders.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi and Major General Khalil Dawood Badran honored the strategic partners and sponsors, and awarded them the “Khalifa Our Pride” (Fakhrouna Khalifa) shield, which represents the people love to the UAE and its leaders.

مجلة (999) تحتفل باليوم الوطني
احتفلت مجلة (999) مجلة الثقافة الاجتماعية والأمنية بوزارة الداخلية، بمناسبة إصدارها الخاص باليوم الوطني الثالث والأربعين في فندق قصر الإمارات؛ تحت شعار (فخرنا خليفة) الذي يجسّد مسيرة النهضة والتطوير التي شهدتها الدولة في مختلف المجالات.
وحضر الحفل اللواء الدكتور ناصر لخريباني النعيمي، الأمين العام لمكتب سمو نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية (راعي الحفل)، واللواء خليل داوود بدران مدير عام المالية والخدمات بشرطة أبوظبي، رئيس لجنة تطوير مجلة (999)، والمقدم عوض صالح الكندي رئيس تحرير المجلة، وعدد كبير من ضباط وزارة الداخلية وشرطة أبوظبي، وممثلي الشركات الراعية، وعدد من الشخصيات والإعلاميين.
وقال الأمين العام في كلمة ألقاها في الحفل إن هذه الاحتفالية الكبيرة والمعبرة، تحمل بين طياتها أسمى آيات الولاء والانتماء للوطن الغالي وقيادته العليا؛ التي واصلت مسيرة الخير والعطاء في دولة الاتحاد التي أرسى قواعدها المغفور له بإذن الله الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان "طيب الله ثراه".
وأكد أن الثقافة هي المعيار الحقيقي للحكم على نهضة الشعوب والمعرفة، كما هي خبرات تراكمية من المعلومات والتجارب لمواجهة التحديات، مشيراً إلى أنه، وعلى الرغم من دور الثقافة المهم في النهضة الفكرية والعلمية، إلا أن أغلب الناس لا يدركون أهمية القراءة، وليس لديهم إلمام بالتراكم المعرفي الذي تبنى عليه الأمجاد ما يستدعي إحداث ثورة وتغيير جذري في هذا الجانب، خصوصاً أن وسائل المعرفة كثيرة، وفي متناول الجميع سواء أكان عبر شبكات الإنترنت أم من خلال الكتب المترجمة وغير المترجمة.
وقال إن مجلة (999) شهدت تطوراً ملحوظاً من جميع النواحي (كماً وكيفاً)، وبعد أن كانت إصدارة واحدة أصبحت اليوم تصدر مجلة للأطفال وملحقاً لأخبار المجتمع باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.
واختتم كلمته بتقديم الشكر إلى اللواء خليل داوود بدران رئيس لجنة تطوير المجلة لدعمه الكبير الذي أسهم في ظهورها بالمستوى المطلوب، والمقدم عوض الكندي رئيس التحرير، والمؤسسات الراعية والشركات الداعمة لدورها البارز في إنجاح هذه المناسبة العظيمة.
وقدمت المؤسسات الراعية الشكر والتقدير لدولة الإمارات التي وفرت الأمن والأمان لكل من يعيش على أرضها من مواطنين ومقيمين، حيث أوضح جورج بشارة؛ ممثل إحدى الشركات، أن مشاركتهم في هذه المناسبة الوطنية الكبيرة شرف لا يضاهيه شرف، خصوصاً أن هذا اليوم يعيد سيرة الآباء والأجداد الذين ضحوا بالغالي والنفيس من أجل نهضة هذه الدولة وتقدمها، لافتاً إلى أن مجلة (999) أضافت عبر مسيرتها الطويلة بعداً ثقافياً كبيراً لمنظومة الإعلام الأمني، كما أسهمت في تعزيز رؤية وزارة الداخلية الرامية إلى ضمان استمرار إمارة أبوظبي كمجتمع ينعم بالأمن والسلامة.
وقال عبده سميدع، في كلمة ألقاها بالإنابة عن الشركات الداعمة، إن شعب الإمارات يحق له أن يفتخر بكونه أحد أسعد شعوب العالم بعد مرور 43 عاماً من قيام دولة الاتحاد التي أرسى قواعدها حكيم العرب (طيب الله ثراه) وإخوانه حكام الإمارات، كما وجه الشكر إلى دولة الإمارات التي أعطت فأجزلت، ولكل الأجهزة الأمنية والشرطية، لافتاً إلى أن هذه المشاركة ليست سوى رد لبعض الجميل الذي يطوّق الأعناق.
في سياق متصل قال الشاعر الإماراتي على الخوار، الملقب بشاعر الوطن، إنه لشرف كبير أن يكون من ضمن الحضور في هذا الحفل، وأن وجوده ضمن فريق عمل المجلة منذ البداية يزيده شرفاً، وقرأ الخوار قصيدة بيرق الأمة التي كتب كلماتها خصيصاً لعيد الاتحاد الثالث والأربعين والتي جاء فيها:
في عهد زايد وراشد بيرق الأمة
خفاق فوق السحاب ومعتلي القمة
وبعهد أغلى خليفة وعهد بوراشد
بيرق إماراتنا قمة، على قمة
وفي الفقرة الفنية قدم الفنان فايز السعيد، والمطربة أريام الأوبريت الوطني "بيرق الأمة" كلمات على الخوار وألحان فايز السعيد، لاقت استحساناً من قبل الحضور لما تضمنته من كلمات، وألحان، وصور تعبيرية تعكس روح الولاء والانتماء لهذا الوطن، وحكامه الكرام.
وفي نهاية الحفل كرّم اللواء الدكتور ناصر لخريباني النعيمي واللواء خليل بدران، الشركاء الاستراتيجيين، والرعاة الداعمين بتسليهم درع فخرنا خليفة؛ الذي يعبر عن حب الشعب وولائه لوطنه وقائده.
