November 2014 – The 2014 Hajj season was expected to achieve
positive results across the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madina. The
latest statistics from the Saudi Arabia’s hospitality industry
reveal a successful season across all hotels where a record number of
pilgrims were hosted by key industry players in both cities.
During this year’s
Hajj season, Anjum Hotel not only welcomed over 50,000 pilgrims from
23 different nationalities, but also provided them with the highest
level of service, thus exceeding their expectations. By extending its
working hours, the hotel management successfully and efficiently
catered to a significantly large volume of guests, ensuring their
comfort and satisfaction during their stay. Anjum’s staff ensured
quick and smooth delivery of hotel’s five star services even at
peak times, reflecting hotel’s commitment to make their guests’
stay pleasant and enjoyable.
Elaborating on the
transportation services, Ahmad Sabry, General Manager of Anjum Hotel,
said: “Anjum Hotel enjoys a prime location within the complex of
the Holy Mosque. Since a number of roads were closed around the
hotel, we revised the bus schedules and altered travel routes as well
as informed tour operators accordingly in order to avoid any delays
for the guests. Our hotel offers a vast parking space and can easily
accommodate almost 40 buses at the same time within its premises
which assured of a swift and easy arrival and departure of pilgrims.”
“We planned months
ahead to ensure a comfortable Hajj season for our guests. All
departments were well equipped and prepared with all necessary
supplies at all times and in compliance with safety and hygiene
requirements.” Sabry added. “To cope with the additional demand
and ensure a calm and peaceful Hajj experience for our guests, we
liaised with the local authorities regarding adequate water and
electricity supply and get some heads-up notification beforehand in
case of any planned supply interruptions.”
“With the help of
the Red Crescent, we had set up a centre for their
operation within our hotel to respond to any medical emergencies 24
hours a day. We also increased the availability of medical care to be
at par with the number of guests, with a doctor-on-call
round-the-clock and direct contact with nearby hospitals and medical
centres,” Sabry concluded.
The Anjum Hotel
Makkah is an ideal location for Hajj pilgrims, as it provides guests
with breath taking views of the Holy Haram and an air-conditioned
private direct access through the new King Abdullah gate to the
Ancient House. The hotel boasts of a beautifully landscaped piazza,
extending a warm welcome to guests along with express check-in and
check-out services. The piazza and reception desk has an easy access
to all guest rooms through 26 direct elevators designed to attend to
guests during peak times.
The hotel property
offers a total of 3,000 square meters of public areas, including
lounges and restaurants, situated either in the lobby or mezzanine
floors. The four restaurants and lounges, serving a wide variety of
international and authentic cuisine prepared by a team of
multinational chefs, can cater to 3,500 guests. Joud, all-day dining
restaurant alone has a capacity of 1500 pax even during busy Hajj
season.
