20, 2014 - Gulf Extrusions (Gulfex), a leading global manufacturer of
extruded aluminum products, has been named as one of the winners of this year’s
prestigious Gaia Awards, the construction and building materials industry’s
most respected awards honoring innovative construction products and equipment
that have truly integrated the concept of moving toward a more sustainably
built environment. The award was given in recognition of the company’s line of
X-ECO aluminum alloys, which are products made from recycled aluminum that have
resulted in a 60 to 80 per cent reduction of Co2 compared to the exploitation
of primary aluminum. Modar Al Mekdad, General Manager, Gulfex, accepted the
award during the awarding ceremonies, which was held during the company’s
participation in the Big 5.
Held
annually on the sidelines of The Big 5 International Building and Construction
Show, the Gaia Awards honors companies in the construction sector who have made
key contributions in the move to drive in a reduction of construction
industry's impact on the environment. The Gaia Awards aim to promote a
company's responsibility to the environment by recognizing their achievements
and providing a strategic platform to showcase 'green' products and future
developments of the construction and building materials segments.
"الخليج للسحب" تفوز بجائزة "جايا"
خلال "الخمسة الكبار 2014"
الإمارات، 20 نوفمبر 2014- اختيرت "شركة
الخليج للسحب"، المصنّع العالمي الرائد لمنتجات سحب الألمنيوم، ضمن
قائمة الفائزين في "جوائز جايا 2014" (Gaia Awards 2014)، إحدى أبرز الجوائز المرموقة ضمن قطاع الإنشاء ومواد البناء والتي
تستهدف تكريم أبرز المنتجات والمعدّات المبتكرة التي تجسّد مفهوم التحول إلى بيئة
أكثر أمناً وإستدامة. ويأتي تكريم الشركة تقديراً لجهودها في تطوير خط إنتاج سبائك
الألمنيوم الآمنة بيئياً "إكس-إيكو" (X-ECO)، وهي عبارة عن سبائك مصنوعة من الألمنيوم المُعاد تدويره والتي
تساهم في خفض معدلات انبعاث غاز ثاني أكسيد الكربون بمعدل 60 إلى 80% مقارنةً بالألمنيوم الأولي. وتسلّم الجائزة
مضر المقداد، مدير عام "شركة الخليج للسحب"، خلال حفل توزيع الجوائز
الذي عقد على هامش "معرض الخمسة الكبار الدولي للبناء والتشييد 2014".
وتهدف "جوائز جايا"، التي تعد إحدى أبرز الفعاليات السنوية
المُدرجة ضمن جدول أعمال "معرض الخمسة الكبار"، إلى تكريم الشركات
المعنية بالبناء والتشييد على مساهماتها القيّمة في دعم الجهود الرامية إلى الحد
من البصمة الكربونية لقطاع الإنشاء. وتركز الجوائز على الترويج لمفهوم المسؤولية
البيئية للشركات من خلال تقدير الإنجازات البارزة في مجال حماية البيئة وتوفير
منصة استراتيجية لاستعراض التطوّرات الحالية والمستقبلية في مجال مواد البناء
والإنشاء وتسليط الضوء على أحدث المنتجات الخضراء التي من شأنها تحقيق أهداف
الاستدامة.
