Cairo – September 23^rd, 2014:

Fiat Chrysler Group and Nile Engineering, Fiat’s official dealer in Egypt, announced the supporting of the “Min Project”, an Italian-Spanish excavation project located at the foot of Sheikh Abd el-Gurna on the west bank of Luxor, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of State for Antiquities.

This came today in a special celebration held by Fiat and hosted at the Italian Embassy, to present the Canarian-Tuscan Archaeological Mission, through the Italian association for Preserving Heritage for Development, with a cheque that will support one of their biggest archeological projects, which includes excavation, exploration and publication of several Theban Necropolis’ tombs in Luxor.

Mr. Maciej Ratynski, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Egypt, stated that Fiat believes tourism is the backbone of the Egyptian Economy and that Investment is the engine that keeps the development wheel spinning towards a better future. Accordingly, Fiat’s decision was to first expand its investments in Egypt through its long-awaited return to the Egyptian market, and secondly is to support projects that will result in serving Egyptian tourism on different levels.

He also added that for over more than 60 years, Fiat has always been in the hearts of the Egyptians and that’s why the company owes a great deal of loyalty to Egyptian families, ensuring that in the upcoming period, Fiat will regain its position and maintain its reputation as the safest and most trusted vehicle for all Egyptians, and will always hold out a helping hand in all their major projects.

Eng. Hisham Al Tayeby, CEO of Nile Engineering, stated: “Our decision to support the Canarian-Tuscan Archaeological Mission in Egypt came from the deep belief in a cause that will help archaeologists carry out their dream that started in 2013, aiming to make important and unexpected discoveries in the west bank of Luxor, which is soon to again be the talk of the world.”

He  continued to explain that Nile Engineering, along with its partners in success, Fiat Chrysler Group, are highly determined to uphold their mission in supporting real projects and activities that will result in tangible and useful development for the benefit of all Egyptians. He further added that the company is well aware of its social responsibility towards Egypt and Egyptians.

From his side, H.E. Mr. Maurizio Massari, Ambassador of Italy in Egypt, welcomed all the guests and highly praised Fiat and Nile Engineering’s initiative, pointing out the deeply rooted relation between Egyptians and Italians that goes way back in time.

As for H.E. Mr. Arturo Avello, Ambassador of Spain in Egypt, he highlighted that with its decision to support this massive archeological project that is expected to achieve unprecedented results, Fiat is not only presenting a role model in corporate social responsibility, but it is also highly supporting the Egyptian tourism industry. 

It is worth mentioning that, “The MIN Project” started in 2013 by the Canarian-Tuscan Archaeological Mission, an Italian-Spanish project, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of State for Antiquities. The Project mainly lies in the excavation, exploration and publication of the tombs of Min (TT109) and its extension, tomb Kampp -327-.

During this year, the archaeological team, including the Spanish Mila Álvarez Sosa, the Italian Irene Morfini and other young Egyptian archeologists, made some important and unexpected discoveries that have been featured and covered by all  main press, print and TV worldwide. This is where the Egyptian Minister of Antiquities, announced to the world that during the routines explorations, the archaeological mission discovered a new tomb that dates back to 3500 years ago, and belongs to May, a top governmental official in the XVIII Dynasty.

During the media gathering, the Italian Irene Morfini, one of the head of the archeological team, has given a speech presenting the details of the MIN project.

She stated that the purpose of the MIN Project is to copy and study the inscriptions and the scenes and document the architecture, as well as excavate and preserve the structure of the tombs and their wall decorations and prepare the monument for a future opening to the public, using teams of experts specialized in different disciplines, including Egyptologists, archaeologists, photographers, surveyors, ceramicists, botanists, geologists, bioantropologists, restorers, architects, artists and many others.

She further added that part of the work of the Canarian-Tuscan Archaeological Mission is also the dissemination of the Project activities through conferences, exhibitions, courses and publications in different languages and different countries (Italy, Egypt, The Netherlands and Spain), which will have its direct positive effects in reviving and enhancing Egypt’s tourism.

أعلنت شركة فيات، وينيب عنها شركة النيل الهندسية، الوكيل المعتمد لفيات فى مصر، عن رعايتها، لمشروع “MIN” الذي تنفذه البعثة الإيطالية الأسبانية للتنقيب عن الآثار في منطقة الشيخ عبدة القرنة غرب محافظة الأقصر، وذلك بالتعاون مع وزارة الآثار المصرية والتى ينيب عنها بالحضور الدكتور يوسف خليفة، رئيس قطاع الآثار المصرية.  جاء ذلك في إحتفالية أقامتها الشركة بمقر السفير الإيطالي ظهر اليوم لتسليم البعثة، عن طريق المؤسسة الإيطالية للتنمية والحفاظ على التراث، شيك بقيمة الدعم لأحد أكبر مشاريع للتنقيب عن الآثار ودراسة النقوش وتوثيق العمارة في عدد من مقابر طيبة غرب الأقصر، والمقرر إستئنافه في شهر أكتوبر المقبل.

 

أوضح الأستاذ/ ماتشي راتينسكي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة فيات كرايسلر مصر، أن شركة فيات تعتبر أن السياحة هي العمود الفقري للإقتصاد المصري، كما أن الإستثمار هو قاطرة التنمية، ولذا كان قرار الشركة أولاً بالتوسع في نشاطاتها الإستثمارية داخل مصر من خلال إنطلاقة جديدة للشركة في السوق المصري، وثانياً بدعم المشروعات التي ستحقق إنجازات غير مسبوقة تخدم السياحة المصرية فى عدة محاور لتنطلق منها لآفاق جديدة.

كما أكد راتينسكي إلى أن فيات تدين دائماً بالولاء للأسرة المصرية، فعلى مدار أكثر من 60 عاماً، كانت فيات دائماً موجودة في كل بيت مصري، وخلال الفترة المقبلة ستكون فيات الأكثر ثقة وأماناً لكل أسرة المصرية، وستكون أيضاً عوناً للمصريين في مشروعاتهم الكبرى.

وقال المهندس/ هشام الطيبي، العضو المنتدب لشركة النيل الهندسية: "إن قرار رعاية البعثة الآثرية في مصر أتُخذ ليساعد خبراء الآثار من إستكمال مهمتهم التي بدأوها في 2013 وتهدف إلى إكتشاف مواقع آثرية جديدة غرب الأقصر ستكون حديث العالم خلال الفترة المقبلة."

وأضاف في كلمته أن شركة النيل الهندسية، مع شركاء نجاحها، شركة فيات، عازمون على إستكمال مهمتهم التاريخية في تقديم الدعم لمختلف الأنشطة التي تساعد على تحقيق تنمية حقيقية يستفيد منها الشعب المصري، موضحاً أن الشركة تعي تماماً مسئوليتها المجتمعية تجاه مصر وطناً وشعباً.

من جانبه، رحب سعادة السفير الإيطالي بالقاهرة/ ماوريتزيو ماساري بالحضور وأشاد بالمبادرة التي قدمتها شركة فيات وشركة النيل الهندسية مشيراً إلى عمق العلاقات بين الشعب المصري والشعب الإيطالي والممتدة لعدة قرون.

كما أكد سعادة السفير الأسباني بالقاهرة/ أرتورو أفيللو على أن شركة فيات قدمت نموذجاً فريداً في القيام بالمسئولية المجتمعية للشركات، حيث قررت دعم هذا المشروع الآثري الضخم الذي من المنتظر أن يحقق نتائج غير مسبوقة لتعطي دفعة جديدة للسياحة المصرية.

جدير بالذكر أن المشروع، الملقب بمشروع “MIN”، الذي تنفذه البعثة الإيطالية الأسبانية للتنقيب عن الآثار في منطقة الشيخ عبدة القرنة غرب محافظة الأقصر قد بدأ في عام 2013 بالتعاون مع وزارة الآثار المصرية، ويتمثل في التنقيب بالمقبرة رقم  (TT109)  وإمتدادها، والمقبرة (كامب 327). 

فى خلال هذا العام، إستطاع الفريق الأثري، المكون من الإيطالية إيريني مورفيني والأسبانية ميلا آلفاريز سوسا وخبراء الآثار من شباب المصريين، من التوصل الى إكتشافات أثرية هامة كانت محور إهتمام وظهور فى الصحف الرئيسية والمرئية فى جميع أنحاء العالم، حيث أعلنت وزارة الآثار أن فريق العمل تمكن من إكتشاف مقبرة جديدة يعود تاريخها إلى ما قبل 3500 سنة، وتنتمي إلى مسئول حكومي كبير في عهد الأسرة الثامن عشر.  هذه الإكتشافات هى ما شجعت فريق البعثة من أن تستأنف العمل فى أكتوبر القادم لما يتوقعونه من المزيد من الإكتشافات الهامة.

وقد قامت الإيطالية إيريني مورفيني، أحد رؤساء البعثة، بتقديم شرحاً كاملاً عن مشروع “MIN” موضحة أن الغرض الرئيسي منه هو نسخ ودراسة النقوش والمشاهد وتوثيق العمارة، فضلاً عن التنقيب والحفاظ على هيكل المقابر وزخارف الجدران وإعداد النصب لفتحها للجمهور فى المستقبل، وذلك بإستخدام فرق متخصصة من الخبراء في مختلف التخصصات من ضمنهم: علماء المصريات، وعلماء الآثار، والمصورين، والمساحين، وعلماء النبات، والجيولوجيين، وخبراء الترميم، والمعماريين، والفنانين، وغيرهم..

وأضافت أن جزء من عمل البعثة الأثرية هو أيضاً نشر أنشطة المشروع من خلال المؤتمرات والمعارض والدورات والمنشورات بلغات مختلفة وعرضها فى بلدان مختلفة (إيطاليا وهولندا وإسبانيا وغيرهم)، والتي سوف يكون لها آثار إيجابية مباشرة في إنعاش وتعزيز السياحة في مصر.
