Agency’s work currently leading the second round voting shortlist of 91 top agencies from 34 countries

(June 18 2014, Dubai- UAE) Dubai-based creative agency Spark* has had its humanitarian campaign for the CDA Child Protection Centre shortlisted for inclusion as part of the ongoing Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. The campaign is in the running for the Advertising Community Together (ACT) Tributes Awards at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. The agency’s work has been nominated via the ACT Responsible Expo 2014, which forms part of this prestigious International Festival of Creativity

The integrated campaign is titled ‘Paper Child’ and includes a Cinema Commercial, Press Ads, Radios, Outdoor & Activations. It was shortlisted to be showcased after round one by an eminent jury that viewed over 10,000 ads in the category of «Alert», «Inform», «Raise Awareness», and «Commit».

“This is incredible news - everyone at Spark* was already passionate about playing a part in such an important social campaign which is raising awareness of the Community Development Authority’s Child Protection Centre - a powerful force for social good in the UAE. It is even more thrilling to have the high quality of our work for the organisation recognised on the world stage and shortlisted for presence at one of the most famous advertising festivals in the world,” said Yusuf Pingar, Managing Director, Spark*.

Spark*’s campaign for the Child Protection Centre found its way to Cannes Lions after it impressed representatives of ACT Responsible, a Swiss-based, non-profit humanitarian organization. ACT Responsible aims to collect the best advertisements that promote sustainability, equitable development and social responsibility, in a bid to highlight how creativity is used to raise awareness of the world’s most pressing issues.

Following ACT Responsible’s forum postings, judges at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity shortlisted it for inclusion as one of 45 advertising campaigns in Round Two under the category ‘Equal Rights and Protection.’ The festival is currently underway in the south of France, running from June 15-21, with online polling opened for people wishing to vote for their favorite campaign before the big win is announced by David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes on Friday, June 20th, 2014.

“We would like to thank everyone involved in helping us to produce such a memorable campaign that has not only resonated with audiences across the region, but also struck a chord with individuals and organizations worldwide. And we are not resting on our laurels - the team is already at work planning phase two of the campaign, which will focus on empowerment, along with other campaigns for social initiatives by CDA.” concluded Pingar.
