Marius Basson, Long-time Reliability-centered Maintenance Practitioner, to lead The Aladon Network

Set to Take Aladon Reliability Practices to New Heights with Cooperation of Network Members and Bentley Systems as Priority Technology Partner to the Network

June 30, 2014 – Aladon and Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, recently announced that Marius Basson, a long-time Reliability-centered Maintenance (RCM2) practitioner and Aladon member, has acquired the Aladon business from Bentley. Bentley Systems will remain a member of The Aladon Network and will continue to be its priority technology partner.

The Aladon Network, which became part of Bentley through the company’s acquisition of Ivara in 2012, is a global community of reliability professionals whose members are certified by Aladon as “practitioners” and “facilitators” in the delivery of RCM2, as well as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA2) and Asset Prioritization (AP). Basson will lead the Aladon membership to further advance the discipline of RCM2 and, in doing so, help make industrial operations safer and more productive.

Commenting on the announcement Al Gray, Bentley vice president, asset lifecycle information management sales and services, said, “The Aladon Network, as a global authority on RCM2, requires a dedicated and passionate expert to lead it. That’s why Bentley is pleased to hand over the reins of Aladon to Marius Basson, a very capable and highly talented reliability practitioner, accomplished business executive, and natural leader whose steadfast commitment to the Network will serve its members well, and help them achieve even greater success.”

Basson was previously vice president, asset management, at CH2M HILL, and also served as director, reliability, at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a qualified mechanical engineer and has worked in the field of reliability and maintenance management for more than 20 years. Basson has successfully implemented RCM2 in almost every industry, including mining; transport; water, gas and electric utilities; fabrication; manufacturing; and petrochemicals.

Basson said, “I look forward to collaborating with the Network members to take the Aladon Reliability Practices to the next level. With a worldwide presence and stellar reputation, the Network is poised for exponential growth.”
