Ideal Standard Gives Back to the Egyptian Community

Sponsorship of Hope Village and Inner Wheel’s recent charity events highlight company’s growing CSR initiatives

Ideal Standard, the world’s leader in bathroom design and manufacture, today announced it has been actively increasing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with its high profile participation and sponsorship of recent charity events. By supporting two of Egypt’s leading NGOs, Hope Village Society (Hope Village) and Inner Wheel, Ideal Standard endeavors to make a positive contribution to the Egyptian community.

Maged Ayoub, General Manager, Commercial Ideal Standard Egypt noted, “It is Ideal Standard’s continuous aim to make positive contributions to Egyptian society through the active engagement of CSR initiatives and involvement in community building events. We are proud to support noteworthy charitable causes that promote social welfare and pave the way to a better Egypt such as Hope Village and Inner Wheel.”

Ideal Standard took part in the Hope Village event by sponsoring 1,000 street children, enabling them to receive suitable care as well as the gala dinner and main activities of the evening including entertainment by famous Lebanese singer Assi El Helani. The event took place April 20^th in Sharm El Sheikh at the Concorde El Salam and was attended by 2,000 people. Hope Village is an NGO that provides shelter and invaluable services for street children, offering an alternative to life on the streets. Founded by late Englishman Richard Hemsely and other Egyptian philanthropists, boys and girls receive education and healthcare and can participate in numerous activities such as sports and literacy programs. Vocational training such as carpentry is also taught; helping ensure a brighter future.

The world’s leader in sanitary ware design and manufacture recently participated as well in the Inner Wheel’s annual fundraising event. Its annual party is the main headline event in the calendar year for the distinguished NGO. Held at Cairo’s Blue Nile boat March 22^nd and attended by leading society figures, the event served to raise funds for Egypt’s cancer society. Established in 2002, the world’s largest women’s voluntary service organization brings together the dedication of thousands of women volunteers across Egypt for the promotion of a better society.

The company takes its corporate social responsibility and corporate philanthropy roles seriously and has supported several noteworthy causes over the years. شركة ايديال ستاندرد انترناشيونال ايجيبت، الرائدة عالميا في مجال تصميم وتصنيع الأدوات الصحية الخاصة بالحمامات تتوسع في أنشطتها الخاصة بالمسئولية الاجتماعية وذلك من خلال مشاركتها الفعالة ورعايتها لبعض الفعاليات الخيرية التي جرى تنظيمها مؤخرا. ومن خلال الدعم الذي تقدمه ايديال ستاندرد لاثنتين من كبرى المنظمات غير الحكومية الرائدة، جمعية قرية الأمل ونادي الإنرويل، فإن الشركة تسعى جاهدة نحو تقديم مساهمة إيجابية للمجتمع المصري.

ووفقا لما ذكره المهندس ماجد أيوب، المدير العام التجاري لايديال ستاندرد مصر "إن ايديال ستاندرد تهدف بشكل متواصل إلى تقديم مساهمات إيجابية إلى المجتمع المصري من خلال مشاركتها الفعالة في مبادرات المسئولية الاجتماعية للشركات، وكذلك في الفعاليات الرامية إلى بناء المجتمع. إننا نفخر بدعمنا للقضايا الخيرية النبيلة التي تهدف إلى تعزيز الرخاء الاجتماعي وتمهد الطريق نحو بناء وطن أفضل في مصر مثل قرية الأمل ونادي الإنرويل".

وقد شاركت ايديال ستاندرد في الفعالية الخاصة بقرية الأمل من خلال رعاية ألف طفل من أطفال الشوارع وتوفير الرعاية المناسبة لهم، كما قامت برعاية حفل العشاء والأنشطة الرئيسية التي تم تنظيمها في ذلك المساء. وقد تم تنظيم تلك الفعالية في يوم 20 أبريل في فندق كونكورد السلام بمدينة شرم الشيخ وحضرها عدد من الشخصيات. وقرية الأمل هي جمعية غير حكومية تقدم المأوى وغيره من الخدمات ذات القيمة لأطفال الشوارع، بل تتيح لهم بديلا عن الحياة في الشوارع. وتساهم في تقديم الخدمات التعليمية والرعاية الصحية للأولاد والبنات الذين يمكنهم أيضا المشاركة في أنشطة أخرى متعددة مثل الأنشطة الرياضية وبرامج محو الأمية. كذلك توفر الجمعية لهؤلاء الأولاد فرصة تلقي تدريب مهني مثل تعليم النجارة، مما يساعدهم على ضمان مستقبل أفضل وأكثر أملا.

كذلك شاركت ايديال ستاندرد، الرائدة عالميا في مجال تصميم وتصنيع الأدوات الصحية الخاصة بالحمامات، مؤخرا في الفعالية الخاصة بتنمية الموارد التي يقيمها نادي الإنرويل سنويا. ويتصدر الحفل السنوي الذي تنظمه تلك المنظمة غير الحكومية المرموقة قائمة الفعاليات الخاصة بالنادي. وقد تم تنظيم تلك الفعالية في مركب بلو نايل بالقاهرة في يوم 22 مارس الماضي وحضرها لفيف من الشخصيات القيادية المرموقة في المجتمع، وكان الهدف من الفعالية جمع التبرعات لصالح الجمعية المصرية لأمراض السرطان. ويضم النادي في عضويته آلاف المتطوعات من شتى أنحاء جمهورية مصر العربية اللاتي تعملن في إخلاص نحو تحسين أحوال المجتمع.
