Ahmed Muallah
brings a wealth of experience to the Bank’s newly established wholesale Banking
operation in Iraq
Baghdad, 26
February, 2014 – Standard Chartered announced today the appointment of Ahmed Muallah
as Managing Director and Head of its Wholesale Banking business in Iraq. In his
role, Ahmed will be leading the Bank’s Wholesale Banking business and will be
based in Baghdad reporting to Tarek Anwar, Co-Head of Wholesale Banking and
Regional Head of Client Coverage for Middle East North Africa and Pakistan.
Commenting on the
appointment, Gavin Wishart, Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Iraq

Ahmed has over 20
years investment banking and private equity experience. Prior to joining
Standard Chartered, he was the founding member and partner of IQI, a private
investment company in Baghdad. He also held the position of Middle East CEO of
Renaissance Capital where he established Investment Banking and Asset
Management divisions. Ahmed has also worked in London for Deutsche Bank,
Citibank and Barclays Capital. Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and
Finance from the University of West London, London, UK.

Standard Chartered
launched its on-the-ground wholesale Banking operations with the opening of its
headquarter and first branch in Iraq, in Baghdad during November 2013. The Bank aims to service the growing
financial needs of its multinational corporate clients operating in Iraq,
notably in the Oil and Gas, Construction, Telecommunications and Infrastructure
sectors. The Bank will be opening two other branches in Iraq, one in Erbil
during March 2014 and then Basra later in the year.

بغداد، 26 فبراير، 2014 – أعلن بنك ستاندرد تشارترد عن
تعيين أحمد معلاَ كمدير عام ورئيس للخدمات المصرفية للشركات في العراق. وسيتخذ
أحمد من بغداد مقراً له وسيلعب دوراً رائداً في قيادة أعمال البنك المصرفية
للشركات في العراق. وسيعمل أحد مع طارق أنور الرئيس الاقليمي المشارك للخدمات
المصرفية للشركات ورئيس علاقات العملاء من الشركات في منطقة الشرق الاوسط وشمال
أفريقيا وباكستان في بنك ستاندرد تشارترد.

ويمتلك
أحمد أكثر من 20 عاماً من الخبرة في مجال الخدمات المصرفية الاستثمارية والستثمار
الخاص. وقبل انضمامه إلى بنك ستاندرد تشارترد، كان أحمد عضواً مؤسساً وشريكاً في
شركة آي كيو آي القابضة المحدودة وهي شركة استثمار خاص في بغداد. كما شغل أحمد
منصب الرئيس التنفيذي للشرق الاوسط في شركة رينيسانس كابيتال حيث أسس ذراعي
الخدمات المصرفية الاستثمارية وإدارة الاصول. كما عمل أحمد في لندن لدى دويتشه بنك
وباركليز كابيتال. ويمتلك أحمد شهادة باكالوريوس في علوم المحاسبة والتمويل من
جامعة ويست لندن في المملكة المتحدة.

وقد أطلق
بنك ستاندرد تشارترد عملياته المصرفية للشركات في العراق مع افتتاح مقره الرئيسي
في العراق وفرعه الاول في بغداد في نوفمبر 2013. ويهدف البنك إلى تلبية الاحتياجات
المالية المتزايدة لعملائه من المؤسسات العالمية العاملة في العراق، خصوصاً من
قطاعات النفط والغاز والاعمار والاتصالات والبنية التحتية. وسيقوم البنك بافتتاح
فرعين في العراق، الاول في أربيل خلال شهر مارس 2014 والآخر في البصرة لاحقاً خلال
العام 2014.
