January 22, 2014: Celebrating women who overcome significant challenges to
make this world a better place to live, HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings,
under the Kind Patronage of H.H. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum, has rolled out
a special awards programme for women.
Making the announcement, H.H. Sheikha Wafa, said: “HMH Celebrity
is a tribute to exceptional women who are playing an extraordinary role in the
UAE society be it in the field of art, literature, culture, sports,
environment, healthcare, human welfare or public life. What connects all these
women is a passionate need to transcend the limitations of their lives – to
change the world for the better – while grappling with their own place in it.
We want this award to be one of the most coveted trophies bestowed on those real
women who make such a difference to life.
Highlighting the significance of the award, Mr Laurent A.
Voivenel, CEO, HMH, stated, “Through this award we endeavor to honour women,
who through their exceptional work, become pillars of our community but very
often go unrecognized. Every month we wish to honour one such special
woman who through her determination pushes limits of her boundaries to achieve
excellence in her field. We are truly grateful to H.H. Sheikha Wafa
Hasher Al Maktoum for extending her support to this initiative. The
programme will not only be limited to recognizing women who take up social or
charitable causes but rather anyone who has been playing a part in enriching
lives. End of the year, out of the 12 winners, one will be presented with the
HMH Celebrity of the Year Award at a gala ceremony.”
The selection process is equally simple and transparent. The
nominees can be of any nationality but should be based in the UAE. They should
have done something exemplary that qualifies them to be a role model for
others. No individual can be nominated two years in a row neither is it open to
any HMH employee. The winners will be chosen by a special committee of judges
headed by H.H. Sheikha Wafa Hasher Al Maktoum, two prominent journalists, two
experts from the same field as the nominee and two top executives from HMH. The
first winner will be announced shortly by the end of the January, 2014.

يناير 2014: احتفالا وتكريما لنساء تغلبن على مصاعب شديدة لتجعلن هذا العالم
مكانا أفضل للحياة، أعدت أتش أم أتش – هوسبيتاليتي مانجمنت هولدينجز، تحت الرعاية
الكريمة لسمو الشيخة وفاء حشر آل مكتوم، برنامج جوائز خاصا للنساء.
وفي
إعلانها عن الجوائز، قالت سمو الشيخة وفاء إن: "جائزة شخصية أتش أم أتش
الشهيرة هي تحية تقدير لنساء استثنائيات يلعبن دورا غير تقليدي في مجتمع الإمارات
العربية المتحدة سواء في مجال الفن، الأدب، الثقافة، الرياضة، البيئة، الرعاية
الصحية، رخاء الإنسان أو الحياة العامة. ما يجمع بين هؤلاء السيدات هي الحاجة الملحة
إلى تجاوز قيود فرضت على حياتهن – رغبتهن في تغيير العالم من خلال السيطرة على
مقدراتهن الخاصة فيه. نريد أن تكون هذه الجائزة واحدة من أكثر الجوائز التي يطمح
إلى نيلها السيدات إذ تمنح لنساء حقيقيات يحققن فارقا كبيرا في الحياة.
ومن
أجل إلقاء الضوء على أهمية هذه الجائزة، يقول لوران أ. فوافنيل، الرئيس التنفيذي،
أتش أم أتش، إنه: "من خلال هذه الجائزة، نسعى لتكريم السيدات، اللاتي أصبحن
من خلال عملهن غير التقليدي، أعمدة لمجتمعاتهن لكن غالبا لم تلق مساهمتهن التقدير
الذي تستحقه. كل شهر نرجو أن نكرم سيدة فريدة نجحت من خلال إصرارها في تجاوز حدود
القيود المفروضة عليها لتحقق امتيازا في مجالها. نحن ممتنون بالفعل لسمو الشيخة
وفاء حشر آل مكتوم لأنها تفضلت بدعمنا في هذه المبادرة. البرنامج لن يقتصر على
تكريم سيدات تصدين لقضايا اجتماعية أو خيرية، لكنه بالأحرى سوف يكرم كل من لعبت
دورا في إثراء حيوات الآخرين. في نهاية العام، من بين 12 فائزة كل شهر، سوف يتم
اختيار سيدة تمنح جائزة شخصية العام الشهيرة من أتش أم أتش في حفل كبير".
كما تتميز عملية الاختيار
بالبساطة والشفافية. يمكن للمرشحات أن يكن من أي جنسية لكن يجب أن تكن من المقيمات
في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. يجب أن تكون انجازاتهن مثالية تؤهلهن ليصبحن نموذجا
تحتذي به الأخريات. لا يمكن ترشيح أي سيدة لعامين متتاليين كما أن أي من السيدات
العاملات في أتش أم أتش لا يمكنهن المشاركة. سوف يتم اختيار الفائزات عن طريق لجنة
من المحكمين ترأسها سمو الشيخة وفاء حشر آل مكتوم، وتضم اثنين من الصحفيين، اثنين
من الخبراء في نفس مجال عمل المرشحة واثنين من كبار مسئولي أتش أم أتش. سوف يتم إعلان الفائزة الأولى بعد انتهاء شهر يناير 2014 بأيام قليلة.
