The Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the
government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all
aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, has announced that it will be renewing its official sponsorship of the Mansoor Bin Mohammed
Photography Award as part of its ongoing
efforts to promote a maritime culture among the local community. Held under the
theme “Emirati Panorama,” this year’s edition of the Award – its fifth –focuses
on capturing all aspects of the UAE’s cultural and social development.
DMCA’s sponsorship of the 5th Mansoor
Bin Mohammed Photography Award reflects the authority’s strong commitment to
supporting all cultural events that raise social awareness on the maritime
environment. Such events help highlight the various segments of the maritime
industry –a key facet of the rich history and cultural heritage of Dubai and
the entire UAE.

winning photographs for this year’s marketing programs,” Al Jourani added.
The 5th edition of the Mansoor Bin
Mohammed Photography Award continues the success of previous editions. It aims
to encourage young talents, Emiratis and expatriates alike, to focus on details
of the UAE landscape and capture outstanding images that provide rich
information about the UAE in accordance with this year’s sub-themes. The main “Emirati
Panorama” theme calls on participants to submit 10 sequential and coherent
images that reflect the development of the UAE Making a return appearance from last
year’s edition are the Monochrome (Black & White), Emirati Skylines and
Faces of the UAE sub-themes; participants are allowed to submit a maximum of
two images per theme.
