Delivers some 21 tonnes of blankets donated
from across the GCC via charter flight
Doha, 29 December 2013 - DHL, the
world’s leading logistics service provider, successfully delivered 21 tonnes of
blankets as part of its support
for the "Egypt is Warm" campaign, following the recent cold front, the worst in over a century, to have hit the country.
In aid of those affected, DHL Express shipped the blankets
to the many Egyptians in need on the 28th of December. Blankets were donated by
individuals and organizations from across the Gulf region to Egyptian embassies
and consulates. Participating countries included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.
DHL
organised the collection and delivery of blankets from the Egyptian Embassies
in each country to a central hub in Bahrain where the shipment was prepared for
delivery to Egypt on board a charter flight that was commissioned especially
for this shipment. In total 2,700 KGs of blankets were donated from Qatar.
Commenting on the campaign, Nour Suliman, CEO,

all we can and to putting our resources at the disposal of such a noteworthy
cause."
It is expected that the thousands
of blankets delivered to Egypt by DHL Express will be handled by Egyptian NGO
“Misr Lil Khair” as they were chosen by DHL to distribute the shipment due to
their extensive experience in upper Egypt and their ‘know how’ on how to reach
the most affected areas across the country.

الشركة قامت بتسليم 21 طناً من البطاطين على متن طائرة جوية خاصة
[الدوحة -29 ديسمبر 2013] - نجحت "دي. إتش. أل"،
الشركة الرائدة
عالمياً في قطاع اللوجستيات، في نقل 21 طناً من البطاطين الى مصر في إطار دعمها
لحملة "مصر الدفيانة" بعد موجة البرد القارس التي أصابت مصر وهي الأسوأ
من نوعها خلال القرن الماضي.
ولمساعدة المتضررين من موجة البرد قامت شركة
"دي إتش أل إكسبرس" مؤخراً بشحن أطنان من البطاطين لعدد كبير من
المواطنين المصريين ذوي الحاجة. وتبرع أفراد ومؤسسات من أنحاء منطقة الخليج بهذه
الكميات من البطاطين للسفارات والقنصليات المصرية. ومن الدول التي شاركت في الحملة
المملكة العربية السعودية ودولة الإمارات المتحدة ومملكة البحرين وقطر وعُمان
والكويت.
ونظمت شركة "دي إتش أل" عملية تجميع
وتوصيل البطاطين من السفارات المصرية في البلاد المذكورة إلى مركزها الرئيسي في
البحرين حيث تم إعداد إجراءات الشحن لتوصيلها إلى مصر على متن طائرة خاصة تم ترخيصها
لهذا الغرض تحديداً. وتبرعت قطر بـ 2700 كيلو غرام من البطاطين.
وتعليقاً على الحملة قال السيد نور سليمان،
الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة "دي إتش أل إكسبرس" بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال

نشعر بالفخر لأننا جزء من دعم حملة مصر الدفيانة التي جعلت دول الجوار تتخذ
إجراءات سريعة جداً لجمع المعونات التي تلح إليها الحاجة لصالح المتضررين في مصر
من ظروف الطقس الصعبة في هذا الشتاء. وتلتزم شركة "دي إتش أل"- شأنها
شأن مئات الأفراد والشركات التي شاركت بسخاء في الحملة- ببذل ما في وسعها ووضع
مواردها تحت تصرف هذه الحملة المميزة."
ومن المتوقع أن يتم توزيع آلاف البطاطين التي وصلت
مصر عن طريق جمعية "مصر للخير" خلال الأيام المقبلة حيث قررت "دي
إتش أل إكسبرس" التعاون مع الجمعية لخبرتها الطويلة في صعيد مصر ومعرفتها بالمناطق
الأكثر تضرراً من البرد في جميع أنحاء الجمهورية.
