Up to 400 services to be delivered via Dubai World Central’s Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) network during the Airshow

Smartworld, a leading master systems integrator and next generation ICT service provider in the Middle East, which launched its Gigabit capable network in Dubai World Central (DWC) last year during MEBA, has achieved a new milestone by implementing ‘Next Generation’ connectivity for Dubai Airshow 2013. The event runs from November 17 to November 21, 2013 at the purpose built facility for the event at DWC. This year’s edition, which will be featuring over 1,000 exhibitors from all around the world, is expected to be visited by over 60,000 trade visitors and over 1,500 media practitioners.
For catering to the ICT needs of the event, Smartworld extended the reach of its GPON Network to the venue in DWC, which has already won numerous accolades and awards since its inception last year. Up to 400 telecom services are expected to be delivered during the show through it. Smartworld has spread its network through 30 telecom rooms and cabinets specially installed for the event. The venue consists of a main Exhibition hall and Royal pavilion with an additional 120 chalets located on the Airside. Some of the services made available for users at Dubai Airshow include 100 MB Internet connectivity, IP Connect Services and ISDN services amongst others.
The network is not just catering to the fixed network needs of participants but providing a critical backbone to the mobile network. The Smartworld team has installed a network designed to serve seven mobile sites within the area, providing 2G, 3G and 4G services. The mobile coverage is included in the outdoor and indoor facilities of the event. According to Smartworld senior executives, the installed solutions represent a technical milestone for the region, as all the links are being provided via a common Optical Network Termination (ONT) unit, a standard based CPE designed for deployments in Fiber-to-Premises applications.

The installed solutions are the result of the high commitment of Smartworld’s telecom operations team, who have closely coordinated with Etisalat service providers, Organizers and Dubai Aviation City Corporation’s team to ensure success of the event.

The network also provides ultrahigh bandwidth IP services and at the same time caters to the legacy network, thus meeting the challenging requirements of different users,” concluded Verma.
Smartworld achieved a distinction with the GPON network in DWC, placing them amongst the league of prestigious gigabit capable precincts of the world and provides Next Generation Network (NGN) capabilities to ICT users in DWC. The NGN is the first of its kind 'Open Access' network in the region, as one access can be used by multiple services providers.

أعلنت "سمارت ورلد" (Smartworld)، إحدى الشركات الرائدة في مجال الأنظمة المتكاملة وتوفير الجيل الجديد من خدمات تقنية المعلومات والاتصالات في الشرق الأوسط، عن تطبيق تقنيات الجيل الجديد من خدمات الإتصال في معرض دبي للطيران 2013. وكانت الشركة قد أطلقت شبكتها "غيغابت" (Gigabit) في دبي ورلد سنترال (DWC) العام الماضي خلال معرض الشرق الأوسط للطيران الخاص (MEBA) 2012. ويعقد معرض دبي للطيران 2013 خلال الفترة من 17 ولغاية 21 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني الجاري في المرفق الخاص بهذا الحدث في دبي ورلد سنترال. ومن المتوقع أن تستقطب دورة هذا العام، التي تستضيف أكثر من 1.000 عارض من مختلف أنحاء العالم، أكثر من 60.000 زائر وما يزيد على 1.500 إعلامي.
ولا تلبي شبكة "غيغابت" احتياجات الشبكة الثابتة للمشاركين فحسب، بل توفر كذلك توفر الأساس لشبكة الهاتف المحمول. وقام فريق "سمارت ورلد" بتركيب شبكة مصممة لخدمة سبعة مواقع للهواتف النقالة ضمن المنطقة، حيث توفر خدمات الجيل الثاني والجيل الثالث والجيل الرابع. وتتضمن تغطية الهاتف المحمول المرافق الخارجية والداخلية للمعرض. ووفقاً لكبار المسؤولين التنفيذيين في شركة "سمارت ورلد"، فإن الحلول التي تم تركيبها تمثل إنجازاً تقنياً للمنطقة، حيث يجري تنفيذ كافة الاتصالات عن طريق وحدة طرفية لشبكة الألياف البصرية (Optical Network Termination)، وهو جهاز مركب في موقع العميل معد لنشر تطبيقات الألياف البصرية في هذا الموقع.

وتأتي الحلول التي تم تركيبها في إطار الإلتزام الكبير من جانب فريق عمليات الاتصالات لدى "سمارت ورلد"، الذي نسق عن قرب مع شركة "إتصالات" والمنظمين وفريق مؤسسة مدينة دبي للطيران من أجل ضمان نجاح هذا الحدث. وأضاف فيرما: "نحن فخورون بعرض خبراتنا التقنية ودورنا الريادي خلال دورة هذا العام من معرض دبي للطيران من خلال تركيب خدمات الاتصال الرئيسية وحلول الاتصالات التي ستستخدم في هذا الحدث. وتم دعم هذه الحلول بأول شبكة غيغابت ضوئية خاملة وهي الوحيدة من نوعها على مستوى المنطقة، حيث ستوفر قدرات اتصال وربط شبكي غير مسبوقة. وفي الحقيقة، يمكن لهذه الشبكة أن تتعامل مع المتطلبات الأساسية لمعرض الطيران، حيث تقدم خدمات اتصال عالية بالحزمة العريضة ومرونة لا مثيل لها. كما توفر الشبكة أيضاً خدمات الاتصال العالي جداً ببروتوكول الإنترنت للحزمة العريضة وفي نفس الوقت تلبي متطلبات الشبكات القديمة، ما يلبي بالتالي احتياجات مختلف المستخدمين".
وحققت "سمارت ورلد" تميزاً من خلال تركيبها شبكة غيغابت الضوئية الخاملة في "دبي ورلد سنترال"، ما وضعها ضمن قائمة أبرز المراكز الحيوية في العالم المُعززة بـ "شبكة غيغابت الضوئية الخاملة" ورسخت من دورها في توفير إمكانات عالية من "شبكة الجيل القادم" (NGN) لمستخدمي الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات في كافة المرافق الحيوية التابعة له. وتعد شبكة غيغابت الضوئية الخاملة أول شبكة للوصول المفتوح من نوعها على مستوى المنطقة، حيث يمكن أن يتم استخدام عملية وصول واحدة من قبل عدد من مزودي الخدمات.
