Company’s ‘Jotachar JF750’ to key in reduction in installation time and material costs

Jotun Paints, one of the world’s leading producers and distributors of paints and protective coatings, announced the launch of its latest mesh-free Passive Fire Protection (PFP) product, ‘Jotachar JF750’, at this year’s edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), the Middle East region’s largest Gas & Oil event, which will be held from November 10 to November 13, 2013 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). During the event, Jotun is expected to throw the spotlight on the key features and the benefits to be gained from using Jotachar JF750 like a reduction in both installation time and material costs when installed across offshore and onshore facilities as compared to utilizing epoxy PFP systems that require additional mesh enforcement. Aside from Jotachar JF750, Jotun will also be featuring its diverse portfolio of coating products that have been designed specifically for the Oil & Gas industry.
The new product has been developed to address the demands and requirements of local offshore operators, seeking stronger protection from jet fires for their offshore assets and ensuring compliance with stringent international offshore safety standards. Another requirement currently presented by onshore refinery owners is the production of jet fire capable PFP materials that conform with ISO 22899, which is the standard that helps determine the resistance of PFP materials to jet fires. Jotun senior executives have shared that Jotachar JF750 went through an extensive development and testing process, making it independently fire tested and in compliance with across all key industry standards for up to three hours fire protection.
“Jotachar JF750 is the only mesh-free epoxy intumescent coating solution available in the market where jet fire protection is required for safety critical steel structures, divisions and vessels,” said Andy Czainski, Global PFP Sales Director – Performance Coatings, Jotun. Jotachar JF750 mesh free incorporates an advanced fibre matrix system in the material. This technology, combined with a robust and temperature stable insulating char, eliminates the need for additional mesh reinforcement, reducing complexity and making it significantly faster to apply, saving on both time and cost.”
Recent testing has shown that Jotachar JF750 demonstrates exceptional jet fire performance in the ISO 22899 test-- proving steel protection against jet fire for up to two hours without the need for any additional mesh reinforcement, an industry first. Jotachar JF750 has also passed critical 4-bar blast overpressure tests without the need for additional reinforcing mesh. This proves Jotachar JF750 withstands severe explosion and blast forces with no detachment. Key fire and blast resistance testing was witnessed by representatives of Lloyds Register of London.
Jotachar JF750 is also fully compliant with NORSOK M-501 Revision 6, a global standard determining requirements for the selection of coating materials, surface preparation, application procedures and inspection for protective coatings to be applied during the construction and installation of offshore installations and associated facilities. The NORSOK standard is considered by industry professionals as the most rigorous durability and corrosion standard.

كشفت شركة "جوتن للدهانات" (Jotun Paints) الرائدة في مجال إنتاج وتوريد الدهانات والطلاء وبودرة الحماية، النقاب عن دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" (Jotachar JF750)، وهو طلاء مقاوم للحريق يغني عن إستخدام شبكات الأسلاك المعدنية لتدعيم المنشآت. ويأتي ذلك خلال مشاركتها في معرض ومؤتمر أبوظبي الدولي للبترول "أديبك 2013" الذي انطلقت فعالياته اليوم وتستمر لغاية 13 من الشهر الجاري في مركز أبوظبي الوطني للمعارض. وتهدف الشركة من خلال مشاركتها في الحدث الأكبر من نوعه في الشرق الأوسط في مجال صناعة النفط والغاز، إلى إستعراض أهم مزايا إستخدام الطلاء الجديد ضمن قطاع النفط البري والبحري من حيث خفض الوقت وتكلفة مواد البناء، وذلك بالمقارنة مع إستخدام أنظمة الإيبوكسي الأخرى التي تتطلّب إضافة شبكات الأسلاك المعدنية للحصول على نتائج مضمونة. وعلاوةً على ذلك، تعتزم الشركة خلال الحدث على إستعراض محفظتها الواسعة من حلول طلاء الحماية المخصّصة لقطاع النفط والغاز.
وتم تصنيع دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" لحماية المنشآت في قطاع النفط البحري من حرائق الآبار النفطية وفق أعلى المعايير الدولية للسلامة البحرية، وكذلك لتلبية إحتياجات شركات تكرير النفط على مستوى إنتاج المواد المقاومة للحرائق بناءً على معيار "أيزو 22899" الذي يحدّد مدى مقاومة مواد الحماية للحرائق النفطية. ويأتي إطلاق المنتج الجديد كنتيجة لأعمال البحث والتطوير المكثفة التي قامت بها الشركة بحيث يمكن للطلاء الجديد عزل الحريق بشكل مستقل ولمدة ثلاثة ساعات متواصلة وفق أعلى المعايير المتبعة في القطاع.
وقال أندي سيزينسكي، المدير العالمي لمبيعات طلاءات مقاومة الحريق في شركة "جوتن للدهانات": "تعتبر "دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" الطلاء الإيبوكسي الرغوي الوحيد من نوعه المخصّص لمقاومة الحرائق في قطاع النفط والغاز، بالنظر إلى أهمية ذلك في ضمان سلامة الهياكل الصلبة والسفن والمرافق المستخدمة في القطاع. وقد لقيت هذه التقنية الجديدة إقبالاً كبيراً بين أوساط الخبراء والعاملين في مجال مقاومة الحرائق، ومن المتوقع أن تشكل إضافةً هامة لهم وللقطاع ككل. وترتكز دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" في تكوينها على تركيبة متطورة من الألياف والمواد العازلة والمثبتة للحرارة بحيث تنتفي الحاجة لإضافة شبكات الأسلاك المعدنية، مما يتيح التطبيق السهل والسريع للطلاء بما يسهم في توفير الوقت والجهد والتكاليف على السواء."
وقد أثبتت التجارب القائمة على معيار "أيزو 22899" أن دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" هي الأولى من نوعها في القطاع على مستوى تقديم الأداء الممتاز والحماية القصوى لهياكل الصلب من الحرائق الناجمة عن النفط، وذلك لمدة تصل إلى ثلاث ساعات دون الحاجة لإستخدام أي دعائم إضافية. كما اجتاز الطلاء الجديد إختبارات الضغط الزائد في حالة حدوث أي إنفجار بدرجة "4 بار" وثبت عدم الحاجة للدعائم الإضافية، الأمر الذي يؤكد على قدرة الطلاء الجديد في تحمل قوة الإنفجارات العنيفة بشكل مستقل. وتم إجراء هذه الإختبارات تحت إشراف ممثلين عن "سجل لويدز لضمان الجودة" القائم في لندن.
كما وتتوافق دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750" مع الفئة 6 من معايير "نورسوك م - 501" العالمية والتي تعنى بتحديد المواصفات المطلوبة لإختيار مواد طلاء الحماية وإعداد الأسطح، إضافةً إلى إجراءات التطبيق والمراقبة عند إستخدام هذه المواد في عمليات تشييد منشآت النفط البحرية والمرافق ذات الصلة. وتعد معايير "نورسوك" من أهم المعايير المتعلقة بتقييم متانة المنتج وقدرته على الوقاية من التآكل.
ومن جهته، إختتم جون وارنر، المدير العالمي لفئة الطلاءات الرغوية لدى شركة "جوتن للدهانات" في منطقة الشرق الأوسط والهند وأفريقيا: "من المعروف أن إستخدام الأنظمة القائمة على شبكات الأسلاك المعدنية تتطلب المزيد من الوقت والجهد، سيما أن مثل هذه الأنظمة تنطوي على الإمتثال للعديد من القواعد الصارمة مثل قياس التراكب وعمق الشبكة. ولكن بفضل دهانات "جوتاشار جاي أف 750"، أصبح من الممكن إتمام عمليات الصيانة والإصلاح بسهولة عالية مع توفير الكثير من الوقت والتكاليف."
