- Regional photographers secure two competition wins -
- British photographer, Mark French, named as the overall winner
Dubai, 23 October 2013 – Egyptian and Jordanian photographers, Nader Saadallah and Majdi Muner Alqudah, along with 22 others from across the world, have been announced winners of the ‘24 hour’ snapshot category of CBRE’s 2013 Urban Photographer of The Year competition.
The annual competition run by CBRE, designed to capture the essence of urban life, is now in its sixth year and sets a brief for photographers to explore working life in towns and cities at any time throughout the day.
Nader Saadallah, from Egypt, captured the judges’ attention with his ‘7:00 am’ image, depicting an Egyptian factory worker. Majdi Muner Alqudah, from Jordan, was announced the winner for the ‘11:00 pm’ image, which captured the essence of tranquility of the holy mosque of Mecca.
This year’s competition received over 12,500 photos, a record number, with entrants hailing from 118 countries from the Chilean coast to the deserts of Saudi Arabia. The main prize is a luxury photography safari from a range of destinations across the globe.
British photographer, Mark French has been named as the overall winner of CBRE’s 2013 Urban Photographer of the Year competition, beating entries from around the globe with his striking Hong Kong image titled ‘Looking good at work’.
A student competition ran in parallel with the main competition, which attracted 1,236 entries from educational institutes around the world. The winner of this year’s student competition is Tom Pepper from Kings College London, with his picture ’Waiting for the train’ portraying the New York Subway.

“This year’s competition attracted a record amount of interest and number of high quality entries, making the judges’ jobs even more difficult. However everyone agreed that the winning image by British photographer Mark French is a stunning masterpiece. This competition is a unique one - showcasing the lives of city workers, whilst highlighting the diversity and beauty of cities across the world.”

دبي، 23 أكتوبر 2013- حصل المصوران نادر سعدالله من مصر ومجدي منير القدح من الأردن إلى جانب 22 آخرين من حول العالم على جوائز الفئة "24 ساعة 24 لقطة" لمسابقة المصور الحضري 2013 من شركة "سي بي آر إي".
وتهدف المسابقة السنوية من "سي بي آر إي" والتي هي الآن في عامها السادس إلى التقاط جوهر الحياة الحضرية ودفع المصورين إلى اكتشاف حياة المدن في أي وقت وساعة من اليوم.
وقد حصل نادر سعد الله من مصر على اهتمام لجنة التحكيم بصورته التي ترمز للساعة 7:00 صباحاً، وهي لقطة لأحد عمال المصانع المصريين. أما مجدي منير القديح من الأردن فقد فاز بصورة للساعة 11:00 مساء والتي تلتقط جوهر السلام والطمأنينة للمسجد الحرام بمكة المكرمة.
تلقت مسابقة هذا العام رقما قياسيا من المشاركات بلغت أكثر من 12،500 صورة من 118 بلد بدءاً من الساحل التشيلي إلى صحاري المملكة العربية السعودية. والجائزة الكبرى عبارة عن رحلات سفاري تصويرية مترفة إلى مجموعة من الوجهات في مختلف أنحاء العالم.
وفاز المصور البريطاني مارك فرينش بلقب مصور عام 2013 لمسابقة سي بي آر إي للتصوير الحضري، متفوقا على نظرائه من جميع أنحاء العالم بلقطتة لهونغ كونغ بعنوان "التأنق للعمل".
كما تم تنظيم مسابقة خاصة للطلاب بالتزامن مع المنافسة الرئيسية، اجتذبت 1،236 مشاركة من المعاهد التعليمية من حول العالم. ليقع اختيار لجنة التحكيم على مشاركة توم بيبر من كلية كينجز بلندن، والتي صورت لقطته "في انتظار القطار" مترو أنفاق نيويورك الجديد.
إلى ذلك قال مايك سترونغ، رئيس مجلس الإدارة التنفيذي لمنطقة أوروبا والشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا في سي بي آر إي:
"استقطبت منافسة هذا العام اهتماما قياسيا ومشاركات ذات جودة عالية، ما جعل من وظيفة الحكام أكثر صعوبة. مع ذلك اتفق الجميع على أن الصورة الفائزة للمصور البريطاني مارك فرينش هي تحفة فنية. وتعد هذه المنافسة استعراضا فريدا من نوعه لحياة العاملين في المدينة، مع تسليط الضوء على التنوع والجمال في مختلف مدن العالم."
