demonstrates company’s steadfast commitment in promoting sustainable
environmental development in the UAE

InSinkErator, inventor and the world's largest manufacturer of food waste
disposers and instant hot water dispensers for home and commercial use,
has recently been named as the latest company to be welcomed as a new
member of Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent
forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting
green building practices. With the new membership in place, InSinkErator
will work together with EmiratesGBC in the promotion of sustainable
environmental development in the UAE.
According to InSinkErator senior executives, EmiratesGBC
provides an excellent platform for the company to share, educate and
increase awareness of the environmental benefits of the food waste disposer
via networking and sponsorship opportunities at the council's events
and seminars. As such, the company has already expressed their support
for EmiratesGBC’s programs and initiatives like sustainability efforts;
promotion of LEED certification; increasing awareness on green buildings;
avoiding energy wastage; waste management; the reduction of carbon footprints
and support for the development of more green innovations.
Adnan Sharafi, Chairman of EmiratesGBC and
Board Member of the World Green Building Council, said: “EmiratesGBC is focused on strengthening active
dialogue and engagement by stakeholders from across the building industry
supply chain. With sustainable development ranking high in the agenda
of the Government, a thoroughly integrated approach is imperative to
drive positive change. We thank InSinkErator for being part of the Council
and look forward to their dynamic participation in further strengthening
our activities to promote built environment sustainability.”
EmiratesGBC was founded in June 2006 and became the eighth
full member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) in September
2006— and is also recognized as the official body for the UAE endorsed
by the WGBC. The Council promotes and educates on key environmental
topics, particularly green issues in the built environment. EmiratesGBC’s
corporate members in the UAE represent the entire spectrum of stakeholders
in the building industry supply chain, who share their knowledge and
skills at conferences, seminars, training and green building events
organised by EmiratesGBC.

كشفت "InSinkErator"، أكبر شركة مصنعة ومبتكرة لوحدات
التخلص من مخلفات الطعام وأجهزة توزيع
المياه الساخنة الفورية للإستخدامات المنزلية والتجارية
في العالم، عن إنضمامها مؤخراً إلى "مجلس
الإمارات للأبنية الخضراء" (EGBC)، وهي جمعية مستقلة تهدف إلى الحفاظ على البيئة من خلال تشجيع وترويج ممارسات
الأبنية الخضراء. وبعد حصولها على العضوية الجديدة، ستعمل
"InSinkErator" يداً بيد مع "مجلس الإمارات للأبنية
الخضراء" من أجل تشجيع التنمية البيئية
المستدامة.
ويفتح "مجلس الإمارات للأبنية الخضراء"
أمام أعضائه، من بينهم العضو الجديد "InSinkErator"، آفاقاً واسعة لتبادل أفضل الممارسات
حول حماية البيئة والتعريف بالفوائد البيئية
المترتبة على إستخدام وحداتها للتخلص من نفايات
الطعام من خلال النشاطات والندوات والمحاضرات
التي يعقدها المجلس. من جهتها، أعلنت "InSinkErator" عن تقديم كامل دعمها لبرامج ومبادرات
"مجلس الإمارات للأبنية الخضراء"
المتمحورة حول تعزيز الإستدامة والترويج
لشهادة "الريادة في تصميمات الطاقة والبيئة"، وتعزيز
الوعي بالأبنية الخضراء وتجنب إهدار الطاقة،
وإدارة النفايات، والحد من انبعاثات الكربون،
ودعم جهودها لتطوير المزيد من الإبتكارات
الصديقة للبيئة.
وقال عدنان شرفي، رئيس مجلس إدارة "مجلس الإمارات
للأبنية الخضراء" وعضو مجلس إدارة "المجلس العالمي للأبنية الخضراء":
"يسعى "مجلس الإمارات للأبنية الخضراء"
إلى تمتين أواصر التواصل بين جميع القائمين
على كافة مراحل عملية البناء. كما يقدم
المجلس رؤية شاملة لتعزيز التنمية المستدامة
التي أضحت من أبرز إهتمامات الحكومة الإماراتية
الرشيدة. إننا نتقدم بجزيل الشكر إلى جميع المؤسسات
والأفراد الداعمة ومن بينهم "InSinkErator"
التي نتطلع قدماً إلى العمل معها من أجل تحقيق أهدافنا المشتركة والرامية

وتأسس "مجلس الإمارات
للأبنية الخضراء" في العام 2006 وأصبح
في سبتمبر/ أيلول من العام نفسه ثامن عضو
كامل ينضم لـ "المجلس العالمي للمباني الخضراء"
وتم الإعتراف به أيضاً من قبل المجلس العالمي
كممثل رسمي لدولة الإمارات. وتتمحور إستراتيجية
المجلس حول التعريف بالقضايا البيئية في
البيئات العمرانية. ويتنوع مزيج أعضاء المجلس في الإمارات ليشمل كافة المراحل المتعلقة
بالبناء من الشركات الحريصة على تشجيع التنمية البيئية المستدامة وإطلاق المباني الخضراء في الإمارات
والمنطقة. علاوة على ذلك، يمكن للأعضاء المشاركة في مجموعة من البرامج مثل تلك المتعلقة بالمؤتمرات
والندوات وورش التدريب ومختلف الأنشطة المتعلقة بالمباني الخضراء.
