Leading Asian
hospitality group Dusit International announces the appointment of two
new Sales and Marketing Directors at their Dusit Thani Dubai and Dusit
Thani Maldives locations.
The Directors
join during the company’s Year of Expansion, where hotels in Abu Dhabi,
UAE and Changzhou, China have opened. Joint venture agreements for
further projects in China and Singapore were also inked this year.
Dusit Thani
Dubai welcomes Ms Julia Alvaro as its new Director of Sales and
Marketing. With 20 years of experience in the industry, Ms Alvaro has
spent numerous years in Dubai, having played an instrumental role in the
opening of The Palace Old Town and Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach
Resort. Most recently, she was she was the Director of Sales and
Marketing at Radisson Blu Media City.
To the recently
inaugurated Dusit Thani Maldives, Mr Thanos Lionsatos also brings over
20 years of international experience to his Director of Sales and
Marketing role. He previously directed efforts for the
opening of Oakwood Residence Hangzhou, China, and was the Cluster
Director of Sales and Marketing for Oakwood properties in Japan. He
trained in Sales and Hotel Operations at various Hilton properties
worldwide including in Korea, Australia and Greece.
Of the
appointments, the company’s Regional Vice President of Operations
Europe, Middle East and Africa Mr Thierry Douin states, “We are pleased
to welcome two new members to the Dusit International executive team.
With the Middle East being one of the top markets for our Maldives
resort, I am confident that Ms Alvaro’s regional experience, coupled
with Mr Lionsatos’ strategic market planning, will continue to drive
sales to the stunning resort.”
