Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Light Middle East, has announced the launch of the first-ever Light Middle East Awards designed to recognise and celebrate excellence in lighting and design.
The Awards, will be held alongside Light Middle East 2013, the Middle East’s foremost trade fair and conference for lighting design and technology, being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in early October.
Being held with the support of the Emirates Society of Engineers, the Light Middle East Awards will cover a range of different categories, emphasising the importance of innovative design in various applications.
The award categories are:
- Innovative lighting project of the year
- Sustainable lighting project of the year
- Lighting for Public Building
- Residential Lighting project of the year
- Interior Lighting for a hotel project
- Exterior Lighting for a hotel project
- Retail Lighting project of the year
Nominated projects in the various categories will be shortlisted and evaluated by a jury of select lighting design experts with the final results being announced at the awards ceremony itself. The Awards will culminate in a glittering gathering of leading lighting designers, industry luminaries and select guests and will probably be the biggest industry gathering of its kind in the region.
“The importance of design in effective lighting solutions cannot be overemphasised,“ said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “The Light Middle East Awards are intended to not just reward and appreciate outstanding examples of lighting design in the region, but to also encourage and channel budding design talent from the Middle East in the right direction. Light Middle East, with its industry-wide reach, is an ideal vehicle to propagate excellence in design,“ he added.
Murray Cameron, Regional Manager Middle East for ERCO Lighting Pte. Ltd, one of the world’s largest lighting design companies, stated:

To be eligible for the award, the nominated projects should have been completed between March 1st, 2012 and May 31st, 2013. Nominations can be made online at http://www.lightme.net/lightme-awards/nomination-1.aspx up until August 30th, 2013.
Light Middle East 2013 is expected to attract strong interest from the regional lighting and design fraternity. The exhibition will highlight the latest in innovative products and design with an emphasis on energy efficient products and sustainable lighting solutions.
Light Middle East 2013 will also feature Light Insight Arabia - a comprehensive programme of conferences and workshops. Highly acclaimed by lighting industry professionals, designers and consultants, the interactive forums, instructional workshops and seminars will throw fresh light on key industry issues and trends.
إيبوك ميسي فرانكفورت تطلق مسابقة الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط للمرة الأولى في دبي
أعلنت إيبوك ميسي فرانكفورت الجهة المنظمة لمعرض الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط عن إطلاق النسخة من الأولى من جائزة الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط للمرة الأولى في مدينة دبي والتي تهدف إلى تقدير وإبراز الامتياز في الإضاءة والتصميم.
تُجرى المسابقة على هامش معرض الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط 2013 الذي يعد المعرض والمؤتمر التجاري الرائد لتصميم وتقنية الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط والذي يقام في مركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض مطلع أكتوبر المقبل.
تقام المسابقة بدعم من جمعية المهندسين الإماراتيين وتغطي مجموعة من الفئات المختلفة وتؤكد على أهمية التصميم الابتكاري في التطبيقات المتنوعة.
وتتمثل فئات الجائزة فيما يلي:
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة مبتكر في العام
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة مستدام في العام
- إضاءة المباني العامة
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة سكنية في العام
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة داخلية للفنادق
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة خارجية للفنادق
- أفضل مشروع إضاءة تجزئة في العام
وستقوم لجنة تحكيم من خبراء تصميم الإضاءة بتقييم المشاركات واختيار الفائزين من بين المشاريع المتقدمة في كل فئة فيما يتم الإعلان عن النتائج النهائية خلال حفل الجائزة نفسها الذي يحضره مجموعة كبيرة من مصممي الإضاءة الرائدين وأبرز أعلام الصناعة وكبار الضيوف ليكون أكبر تجمعات الصناعة من نوعه في المنطقة.
وأوضح أحمد باولس الرئيس التنفيذي في إيبوك ميسي فرانكفورت قائلا: "يحظى التصميم بأهمية بالغة في حلول الإضاءة الفعالة ونهدف من خلال جائزة الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط إلى مكافأة وتقدير النماذج المتميزة في تصميم الإضاءة بالمنطقة وكذلك تشجيع وتوجيه مواهب التصميم الناشئة في الشرق الأوسط إلى المسار الصحيح. من ناحية أخرى يعد معرض الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط بما يتميز به من شهرة وانتشار واسع على مستوى الصناعة المنصة الأمثل لتشجيع الامتياز في التصميم".
من جانبه أضاف موراي كاميرون المدير الإقليمي لـ"إركو لايتنج" في الشرق الأوسط، واحدة من أكبر شركات تصميم الإضاءة في العالم قائلا: "تسعد إركو أن تشارك في النسخة الأولى من جائزة الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط التي تمثل فرصة رائعة للمصممين والاستشاريين تتيح لهم استعراض تصاميمهم الخاصة بالإضاءة بالإضافة إلى تكريمهم على ما قدموه من مساهمات مذهلة في المشاريع على مستوى المنطقة. كما توفر لنا الجائزة فرصة لدعم قطاع تصميم الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط ونتطلع إلى استمرار المشاركة معهم في مشاريع مستقبلية".
وتشترط الجائزة على المشاريع المتقدمة أن يتم الإنتهاء منها في الفترة بين الأول من مارس 2012 و31 مايو 2013. ويمكن تقديم طلبات المشاركة على الانترنت عبر الرابط http://www.lightme.net/lightme-awards/nomination-1.aspx حتى الثلاثين من أغسطس 2013.
ومن المتوقع أن يستقطب معرض الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط اهتماما كبيرا من قطاع الإضاءة والتصميم في المنطقة حيث يسلط المعرض الضوء على أحدث المنتجات المبتكرة والتصاميم مع التأكيد على المنتجات المرشدة للطاقة وحلول الإضاءة المستدامة.
ينظم الإضاءة في الشرق الأوسط برنامج "رؤى الإضاءة العربية" الذي يعد برنامجا شاملا من المؤتمرات وورش العمل يشارك فيه مجموعة متميزة من محترفي ومصممي واستشاريي صناعة الإضاءة. تسلط المنتديات التفاعلية وورش العمل والندوات التعليمية الضوء على أهم قضايا وتوجهات هذه الصناعة.
