Double honours for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Jordan as Dead Sea resort wins national 2013 World Luxury Spa Award and ZARA Spa at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba makes the finals.
Jordan, 13 May 2013 — Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea has yet another trophy to add to its rapidly growing list of international accolades after ZARA Spa was voted Jordan’s Best Luxury Resort Spa in the World Luxury Spa Awards 2013.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts dominated the Jordanian section of the awards with sister property ZARA Spa at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba picking up the title of finalist.
ZARA Spa at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea has consistently enjoyed international recognition and has been voted the best spa in the Middle East ‘Spa Retreat, Overseas Category’ for three consecutive years by readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
“We are the only spa in Jordan to have been voted the best by Condé Nast Traveller and this latest award by the World Luxury Spa Awards once again recognises ZARA Spa’s commitment to service excellence and high quality innovative and traditional treatments,” said Peter Hoesli, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea & Regional Manager, Jordan.
ZARA Spa is built in the style of a traditional Jordanian desert castle and offers 6,000 square metres of harmonious holistic space with 31 treatment rooms, lush gardens, relaxing terraces, tropical showers, soothing pools and more than 70 different types of spa treatments.
Meanwhile, ZARA Spa Tala Bay Aqaba features 11 treatment rooms, a hydro pool and steam rooms. The well-being centre, recommended by the Condé Nast Johansens Award, has revolutionised Jordan’s spa landscape with innovative experiences such as the ‘Ice Fountain’ that stimulates circulation as well as traditional treatments that use only Dead Sea ingredients.
“We are proud of being nominated,” said Beat Peter, General Manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay. “The list of winners and finalists is a useful guide for people looking for reputable spas.”
All winners of the World Luxury Spa Awards 2013 were selected from online votes by thousands of spa guests worldwide and the award organisers described ZARA Spa as “setting a benchmark as an industry leader”.
“The World Luxury Spa Awards is the highest accolade a spa can ever hope to receive,” said Marinique de Wet, Executive Manager of the World Luxury Spa Awards. “These awards congratulate unsurpassed service excellence and put the spotlight on those spas representing only the finest standards.”
The World Luxury Spa Awards, which started in 2011, are described by the organisers as designed to “encourage and raise service standards within the luxury spa industry” and are presented to luxury spas in 14 different categories on a country and global basis.
