UAE companies place high importance on unifying applications in the cloud with other software in their organization

· Oracle has announced the results of a “Cloud for Business Managers: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” report, which found that the majority of businesses around the world have not yet adequately integrated their cloud applications across their business functions. Oracle partnered with market research firm Dynamic Markets to survey 1,355 executives from companies across the world with revenues of $65 million or more.
· In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the report found that:
o 48 percent of businesses in the UAE stated that their department has experienced staff downtime over the past six months due to cloud application integration problems
o A further 56 percent said project deadlines had been missed in the six months prior to the survey due to similar problems around integration
o 82 percent of companies stated that it is important that cloud applications are fully integrated with each other and with other software in the organization
Key Findings
· The impact of poor cloud integration on business productivity: Over half (54 percent) of businesses stated that their department has experienced staff downtime over the past six months due to cloud application integration problems, with departments not even using cloud applications among those affected. A further 54 percent said project deadlines had been missed in the past six months due to similar problems around the lack of application integration.
· Application silos proving a challenge for innovation: The vast majority (83 percent) of businesses have been prevented from getting the best out of their departmental cloud applications, with one in four blaming poor integration with other applications. Importantly, 75 percent said their ability to innovate using cloud applications has also been hindered, with one in two (53 percent) citing a lack of integration.
· Promise of cloud failing to materialize due to business process siloes: Over three quarters (76 percent) of businesses stated that their motivation behind deploying cloud applications was to get quick access to software.
· Businesses aiming for better application integration: The good news is that the majority of businesses have recognized the need to better integrate business functions and applications. The vast majority (81 percent) of companies stated that it is important that cloud applications are fully integrated with each other and with other software in the organization.
· Compliance a major issue when using multiple cloud providers: Among those whose departments use cloud applications, 73% say having cloud data handled externally by one or more cloud vendors makes it hard for their department to be compliant. This applies to all departments, and to 77% of those in finance and to 71% of those in HR. Indeed, roughly 1 in 10 of those in finance, HR and risk / compliance thinks it’s extremely hard to be compliant under these circumstances.

- وأظهرت نتائج في الإمارات العربية المتحدة:

أهم النتائج
- تأثير دمج السحابة الغير جيد على الإنتاجية: أشارت أكثر من نصف الشركات (54%) أن أقسامها المختلفة واجهت تعطل بعض الموظفين في الأشهر الستة الماضية بسبب مشاكل في دمج تطبيقات الحوسبة السحابية حتى بعض الأقسام التي لا تستخدم السحابة. وقالت 54% من الشركات أنه وبسبب المشاكل في دمج التطبيقات أدى الى التأخير على بعض المواعيد.
- بعض أجزاء التطبيقات تثبت تحديا للابتكار: مُنعت الأغلبية من الشركات (83%) من الحصول على أفضل النتائج من تطبيقات الحوسبة السحابية في أقسامها المختلفة مع إلقاء واحد من أربعة اللوم على الدمج مع التطبيقات الأخرى. والأهم من ذلك أن 75 من الشركات قالت أن قدرتها على الإبداع بإستخدام تطبيقات السحابة قد تأثرت بشكل كبير، مع إلقاء واحد من أثنين اللوم على الدمج.
