The Celebrations through food and flowers for 175th Anniversary of Brown’s Hotel

London April 17, 2013 | The Donovan Bar presents 'Timeless', the beverage created to commemorate the 175th anniversary of Brown’s Hotel. The name - suggested by the hotel doorman - perfectly describes the historic venue, made with Chase Elderflower bubbly, topped up with Sparkling English Wine, and garnished with fresh cucumber. The Donovan Bar also offers ‘8 After 8’: a special of 8 tapas style dishes including sweetcorn and chilli fritters, Albemarle smoked salmon, Morecambe Bay shrimps on toast, Welsh rabbit, Portland crab on toast - for two to share!

Brown’s Hotel is pleased to be paying homage to The Chelsea Flower Show, a long-standing British institution this year celebrating its centenary, with a fabulous floral themed afternoon tea and floral spa treatment to get our green fingered visitors in the mood!
The English Tea Room will be serving a specially created Traditional Afternoon Tea with a Chelsea Flower Show twist.  Indulge in warm scones with rose and strawberry jam, and a selection of home-made pastries along with a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, served with a choice of 17 different teas.

The Spa at Brown’s Hotel invites guests to indulge in The Aromatherapy Associates Rose Hydrating Cocoon for 60 minutes. Enhance the bodies’ natural radiance with this comforting restorative treatment that includes capillary circulation, exfoliation, a warp and scalp massage leaving the skin radiant, soft and smooth.

HIX Mayfair restaurant have created a series of nostalgic seasonal Victorian dishes, in celebration of the 175th anniversary of Brown’s Hotel, which opened in 1837, at the start of the Victorian era. The menu is inspired from historic cookbooks and popular Victorian methods of cooking but with a contemporary British slant. Many of these dishes, such as Hochepot Soup, Rabbit and Wallfish Pie and desserts like Savoy Cake with Oranges are forgotten on modern menus. The Victorian 175th anniversary set menu will change seasonally throughout the year.
